Who am I? Just a conscience!
Introduce yourself
Hey, howdy, hey! The name's Jessica, and I wished upon a star from the past--the distant past. My other imaginary friends include none. Miss Kitty Mouse and I are so very eager to join the Worlds of Disney circle of life!
Character basics
Character name: She goes by Miss Kitty Mouse on stage but Kathryne Alcott is her real name.
Age: Mid-late twenties.
Species: Mouse.
Birthplace: London, England
Movie: The Great Mouse Detective
Custom title: Entertainment Aficionado
Why: This is my second time choosing Kitty to write for--mainly because I can mold her into whatever I seem fit and continue to stay canon to the film. I've always loved the movie and even now when I watch it with children, it never ceases to be one of my favorite parts of the film when she sings on stage. I may even whisper fiercely to the kids, "Look at her!" I'd like to think I am inspiring a generation to appreciate minor role characters.
Character appearance (try to get at least 2 or 3 sentences for each section)
Hair description: Kitty has bright white hair that never seems to get dirty despite the facilities in which she works in. She wears a beautiful bow in her hair as do the rest of her singing group but hers is a beautiful blue whereas the other girls have pink ribbons. Her hair always maintains a fluffy appearance and rarely stays flat against her fur coat. If by some chance her hair does become dirty, Kitty cleans it off furiously as quickly as she can. She has found out that through the years the men at the pub enjoy the drastic contrast between Kitty and all of the other bar maids in the establishment which means trying to stay as white as possible.
Facial description/mood/expressions: With a pear shaped face, Kitty’s facial features all seem to mesh particularly well. Her long almond shaped eyes covered with blue eye shadow, match not only her ribbon but also her actual eyes themselves. It’s as if everything was color coordinated in her outfit around her gorgeous blue orbs. She has a round mauve button nose, nearly the size of her pupils. Her lips are a soft pink color which precisely match the color of her inner ear.
Clothing style: Her clothing really depends upon which type of performance she is attempting to do. As her mood changes, so does her clothing choice as she begins with a small skirt and shall then advances to what most people would assume is a leotard with a very large blue feather sticking out of her backside. When Kitty is not on stage, she wears simple dresses, whatever she has the money for at the time. While she adores tall high heels, she never has the budget for it. Most men appear to enjoy her singing but not enough to tip her too well.
Body build: She is a very slender mouse without an ounce of fat on her. Since she is in fact of the mouse species, she’s hardly as tall as a coffee cup but that has never seemed to bother her. London has been advancing over the use with their large amount of mouse sized facilities. Back to her figure however… She is quite the slender mouse but that is only due to her large amounts of dancing on stage. Kitty’s mother, after having nearly twelve children lost her figure completely. Kitty is quite sure if she ever had children the same would be the case for her.
Any unique traits (optional): Kitty has the ability to make any man feel as if he is the only one in the entire world she is speaking to. Her eyes can be wonderfully inviting as well as her tone of voice and soft flowing movements. This however is only when she is on stage. In reality, Kitty is a simple mouse who just wants simple things. The true uniqueness in her is the ability to turn on charm one moment and then be the most normal, simple mouse to walk the street.
Original character analysis (In your own words and please be thorough)
Personality: Miss Kitty has multiple personalities to say the very least. Her stage persona “Miss Kitty” is a dominate mouse who will not put up with anything. She is strong, self confident and stares danger in the face without blinking once. Her singing helps depict these aspects of her personality perfectly. At first she appears to be a coy young mouse, looking for a man to lend her a helping hand but then she flips a switch and becomes her dominating self. The change of costume from a wrap around skirt and throw over, to a revealing leotard with large feather sticking out the back shows how versatile she can be on stage.
In real life, when the lights go down on the stage, Kitty becomes Kathryne, a name her mother came up with. While she doesn’t instantly wilt, altering from vibrant personality to a dismissive soul, she does however shy away from always being the center of attention. When she isn’t working all Kathryne really wants to have a nice quiet conversation with those she cares about. However, she will always, no matter what, speak her mind. It does not matter if she is on stage or at her small home, she will tell you her opinions. It’s one of the aspects of her personality she is most proud of.
History: Kathryne is the youngest of twelve children in her family. Her mother and father adored large families and always encouraged their own children to start having families of their own. Kathryne however was not one to want too many children. Instead of learning how to cook and sew like the rest of her sisters, she was far more interested in performing. While she was young, her parents encouraged her to take part in school plays and other small performing roles throughout the community but when the time came to actually settle down and get married, Kathryne did not humor that idea for too long. She pushed aside her parents’ wishes for her future and followed her own path. This caused a distance to form between herself, her mother, and especially her father. Thankfully her siblings were more understanding so she still keeps in touch with them.
Her first and only singing job has been at the small underground pub near the docks. While the atmosphere and ambience may not be the most inviting, it is the only place where she feels free enough to be herself on stage. Many times she has asked her parents to come down and see her perform but they always decline her invitation, even if they do decline it politely. It still hurts. Kathryne goes by Miss Kitty Mouse on stage because she enjoys the contrast between her mousy like persona at times and then the abrupt switch to a more confident woman, hence Kat and Mouse.
She has been working at the pub for several years now and has grown accustomed to the pay and the working hours. Everything however changes for Kathryne when she is dumped on a set of brick steps at Disney World…
