Hope I'm posting this in the right place! If not, please go easy on me! Thanks!
NAME: Olaf
AGE: Mentally, he is closer to a child than adult.
SPECIES: Snowman
BIRTHPLACE: Arendelle
CUSTOM TITLE: Hug-loving Snowman
WHY I PICKED OLAF: I love him, plain and simple. Honestly, there was hardly a moment in the film that I wasn't reacting to him in some way. He never fails to make me smile. He's one of those characters who has a lovable stream-of-conciousness way of speaking. Also, when I was in the Disney College Program, I drew Olaf for Elsa and Anna when they first arrived in Norway. They loved the drawings I gave them, and it was such a magical moment for me (and possibly the princesses, too, guests don't always give out gifts).
HAIR: He's got little sticks poking out of his snow, but that's about it.
FACIAL: Fairly...goofy, to say the least. Large, expressive eyes. A large nose (made from a carrot). He's almost always smiling.
CLOTHING: He doesn't wear anything, aside from some black buttons stuck in his chest.
BODY BUILD: He's made of snow. Short and cute. Has a habit of falling apart, but is quick to put himself back together and never lets it slow him down for long.
UNIQUE TRAITS: Doesn't have a skull. Or bones.
PERSONALITY: Olaf is the kind of snowman who is always happy, unless he has a reason to feel otherwise. And even then, he can usually find the bright side to a bad situation. The only thing that would really upset him would be if his friends were unhappy. If this were the case, he probably wouldn't be so much sad as he would be busy trying to cheer them up.
He considers himself to be a "love expert," and he knows quite a bit about the subject. While he can't tell you any scientific reasons on why we are drawn to each other, he knows how to probe even deeper into the depths of what love truly is. It's someone worth melting for, someone who you'd do anything in the world for. His handle on love is better than a lot of people's, actually, despite never having been in love with anyone himself. That's not to say he doesn't love anyone; Olaf loves everyone, unless they give him a very good reason not to. He just hasn't found that special snow-woman just yet, if he's even looking.
Olaf's real flaw is his general ignorance of the world around him. Since he has a child's view on things, he's often getting into trouble (though rarely on purpose). He also almost always states what's on his mind, whether people want to hear it or not.
HISTORY: When she was a child, Princess Elsa made a crude snowman to entertain her sister, Anna. She named it Olaf. Years later, after she fled from Arendalle, during a fabulous musical number, Elsa created a duplicate of Olaf, remembering the good times she once shared with her sister. What Elsa didn't realize was that her powers were growing, and she could now not only create snow, but bring it to life as well. Olaf watched Elsa create a huge snowcastle, but went unnoticed by Elsa, who too invested in playing with her powers.
Olaf wandered in the snowy wilderness for a while after that, taking in the wonders of the snow. From some mountaintops, he could see far, far into the distance where it was still summer. Olaf loved the snow, but he longed for the summer weather. It would be nice to get a change from the scenery which was a little too dull for his tastes. Pretty as winter was, he longed to see a color other than white (and occasionally yellow, which was best to be avoided).
Olaf met up with Anna, Kristoff, and Sven, and the four companions went off on a life-changing adventure to reunite with Elsa and bring summer back to Arendelle. To Olaf's delight, Elsa (who he now considers to be his mother, more or less) even made him a special flurry to keep him alive in the hot weather, which was apparently a problem for snowmen--who knew?
Now, Olaf wanders around happily with his friends, looking for adventures and anything new that perks his curiosity, which is just about everything.
AMBITIONS: Mostly to make people happy and experience life to its fullest.
STRENGTHS: Olaf is very in-tune with his feelings, and is always open with his emotions. He's funny and sweet-natured. Physically, his flurry prevents him from melting.
FLAWS: Not the brightest bulb. He's naive, and his trusting nature may get him in trouble with the wrong people sometimes.
LIKES: Warm hugs, first and foremost. He also likes summer in general, making others smile, learning about the world around him, exploring, and adventures.
DISLIKES: Being alone, people who want to harm his friends, dullness.
FEARS: Even though he has a flurry, Olaf does worry sometimes that something will go wrong and he'll melt. It's something that's always in the back of his head.
RP SAMPLE: "Ahh, summer..." Olaf said to himself as he walked down the street. He was about halfway into the summer season, but he always felt that a new day deserved a nice greeting. It wasn't the day's fault that it was already mid-July. Every day was a fresh chance to see the world in Olaf's book. He waved to a few passers-by and continued walking along. People didn't really mind him much. Of course, when he was new to Arendelle, he was a real novelty. A walking, talking snowman! But now that people knew him, it was slightly less jaw-dropping. Olaf didn't mind. Seeing people faint at the sight of him got old after a while. It was hard to talk to someone when they were unconscious.
Speaking of talking to people, he liked to start his day saying hello to Kristoff or Sven, even though Sven didn't talk much. Kristoff did the talking for him, which Olaf decided was alright, though a little strange. Not that he felt it was fair to judge, though. Yes, he thought to himself, another fine summer's day...
