Who am I? Just a conscience!
Introduce yourself
Hey, howdy, hey! The name's Sage, and I wished upon a star from a past life. (I used to be a member.). My other imaginary friends include no one yet. Rapunzel and I are so very eager to join the Worlds of Disney circle of life!
I'm wishing, I'm wishing
Character basics
Character name: Rapunzel
Age: 18
Species: Human
Birthplace: Corona
Movie: Tangled
Custom title: I have magic hair that glows when I sing!
Why: I played Kida before, but I think Rapunzel would be a more interesting and fun character to play. I recently watched Tangled and (I'll admit) fell in love (again) with her naivete and good spirits. She's an inspiring, upbeat young woman, and I could use more happiness in my life. Playing Rapunzel will hopefully bring at least some of that happiness for me.
Who's the fairest of them all?
Character appearance (try to get at least 2 or 3 sentences for each section)
Hair description: Simply put: long. Rapunzel’s hair is about 70 feet long and the color of golden sunshine. It usually trails along behind her. She spends over an hour each day brushing through it. A lock near the back of her head is short and brown. It was cut when she was an infant, and never grew with the rest of her hair.
Facial description/mood/expressions: It’s often easy to tell how Rapunzel is feeling. She has large green eyes and a small nose in the center of a very expressive face. She has a little bit of baby fat left, which makes her look younger than she is. She also has a slight gap in her front teeth.
Clothing style: Rapunzel wears a purple dress that hangs just above her ankles. The bodice is a lighter shade of purple than the skirt with a pink ribbon and white lace. The shoulders are puffy, alternating in color between the purple of the bodice, and the pink of her sleeves. She is usually barefoot. She has a platinum and diamond crown.
Body build: Rapunzel is thin but strong. She is of average height for her age and is quite agile.
Any unique traits (optional):
Curiouser and curiouser about..
Original character analysis (In your own words and please be thorough)
Personality: Rapunzel is a determined young woman. She will go after her dream with energy and passion. She is fascinated by, well, everything. She was raised in a tower with no doors, and read the same three books day after day after day, but she is intelligent. She is kind, but stubborn. She is overcautious at times, and easily startled. Rapunzel is innocent and naïve, perhaps, but confident and courageous.
History: One day, a long time before Rapunzel was born, a single drop of sunlight fell to the earth, and a magic flower grew in that spot. An old woman named Mother Gothel found it and discovered the magical property it possessed: restoring her youth. She kept it a secret for hundreds of years, until one day, in a kingdom not far away, the pregnant queen became ill. A group of guards found the flower that Mother Gothel had kept hidden for so long. They took it back to the queen and made a potion for her to drink.
Rapunzel was born not long after. Her hair was already long enough to pull into a braid and was the color of pure golden sunshine. Days after her birth, Rapunzel was kidnapped by Mother Gothel and taken to a remote tower. Mother Gothel would sit with Rapunzel daily and sing a simple song while brushing the child’s hair, until the girl was old enough to sing it herself.
Rapunzel learned from a young age that every year on her birthday, lights floated across the sky. She wanted to leave the tower, go see them in person. But Mother would never allow it. Rapunzel was too young. Every year, she crept out of bed to watch them from her window.
Living alone for most of her teen years, Rapunzel taught herself many things: playing the guitar, sewing, and knitting, among other things. But her absolute favorite thing to do was to paint. She covered the walls, the beams, the ceilings, with pictures. Animals, flowers, people, anything she could think of. When she wasn't sewing or painting, she would read, bake, or play with Pascal, a chameleon she adopted who showed up one day in her window.
On the day before her 18th birthday, when her mother showed up, Rapunzel sped through singing--and consequently making her mother younger--to get straight to the point: what Rapunzel wanted for her birthday. It didn't seem too much to ask for, just a trip outside to see the floating lights. But her mother, calling them stars, said no. Mother Gothel left, saying she'd be back soon.
As soon as Mother Gothel was out of sight, Rapunzel made a swing for herself of her hair and stared at the painting she had just finished earlier that day. Not long after, she heard something outside the window, something she had never heard before. She fell to the floor and grabbed a frying pan from the kitchen. Mother Gothel would never scale the tower, so what was it?
A man climbed through the window, clutching a satchel close to his chest. Rapunzel reacted, swinging the frying pan as hard as she could. She stared at the man on the floor and realized that her mother was wrong, Rapunzel wasn't weak, and she could fend for herself. Rapunzel couldn't wait for her mother to get back to the tower! Her mother had to let her go now. But Rapunzel had to do this right. She hid the man in her closet, planning on revealing him to her mother.
Her plan was dashed and her heart rebroken when her mother denied her without giving her a chance to show her mother what she could do. A new plan formed in her head, but she would need time. She told her mother that instead of seeing the lights, she'd like new paint, a trip she knew would take her mother three days to complete. Her mother reluctantly agreed, and set off from the tower again.
With Mother Gothel gone, Rapunel let the man out of her closet and tied him up with her hair. Pascal woke him, and Rapunzel struck a deal with the man: in exchange for taking Rapunzel to see the lights and bringing her back to the tower, Rapunzel would return his satchel to him. The man, Flynn Rider, reluctantly agreed. They left the tower.
After making some new friends at Snugly Duckling and making an escape to a dam, Flynn faced off against some guards. Rapunzel saved him with a yank of her hair, and in the process the dam collapsed. They were trapped in a cave, water rising, when Rapunzel revealed that she had magic hair that glows when she sings. They escape the cave and make their way to the kingdom.
The following day, her 18th birthday, Rapunzel and Flynn--who revealed his real name to be Eugene Fitzherbert--enter the castle. Eugene calls four girls over to braid Rapunzel's hair, get it off the ground. They enjoy the festival, dance, and their bond becomes stronger. In the evening, Eugene takes Rapunzel on a boat to see the lights.
Rapunzel gives him the satchel, but Eugene doesn't take it right away. He gives her a lantern of her own to release. After the lights, Eugene brings the boat ashore and leaves, taking the satchel and saying he would be back shortly. Instead of Eugene, two thugs showed up and told her that Eugene left with the crown. They also told her that her hair was worth a lot more than the crown. Rapunzel fled. Her braided hair caught on a log. From behind her, she heard her mother calling. Rapunzel returned to the tower with Mother Gothel, unaware that Eugene had been knocked out and tied to the ship she had seen him on.
Back in the tower, Rapunzel sat in her room, staring at the little flag Eugene had bought for her at the festival. It was then that she realized she had seen the sun, the symbol of the kingdom, many times before, in her own paintings. Pieces fitted together in her head, and Rapunzel gasped as she realized that she was the lost princess. She confronted Mother Gothel about it,who told Rapunzel she only wanted to protect the princess. Next, Mother Gothel informed Rapunzel that Eugene was going to be hanged, and everything was going to go back to normal for them. Rapunzel was heartbroken, but insisted that Mother Gothel would never be allowed to use the princess's hair to stay young again. Mother Gothel gagged Rapunzel, and chained her to a wall to prevent the princess's escape.
Suddenly, Eugene called from outside. He climbed the tower and through the window, only to be stabbed in the side by Mother Gothel. Mother Gothel began to drag Rapunzel down a narrow staircase that led to the base of the tower, which was hidden under a stone on the floor. She fought Mother Gothel, and the gag fell from her mouth. Rapunzel promised that unless she was allowed to heal Eugene, she would never stop fighting to escape. Mother Gothel knew that Rapunzel would never make a promise, so she reluctantly relented. Chaining Eugene to prevent him from following them, she allowed Rapunzel to heal the dying young man. But before Rapunzel could sing the incantation, Eugene took a piece of glass and cut all of Rapunzel's hair off. Mother Gothel, having depended on the flower for hundreds of years, felt age catching up with her. Pascal tripped her with Rapunzel's hair, causing Mother Gothel to tumble out the window. She was dust before she hit the ground.
Rapunzel cried as she realized what Eugene had done. Now she had no way to save him. A single tear landed on Eugene, and she held him close to her, desperately singing the incantation again. Golden light flowed around her. Miraculously, Eugene sat up, hugged Rapunzel, and kissed her. He was healed by the power of her tears.
They left the tower and returned to the castle. Rapunzel waited anxiously on a balcony for her real parents. The queen recognized her after just a second, and the king immediately after. The three embraced.
Rapunzel married Eugene. Rapunzel was learning--quickly--how to run the kingdom. They lived in the castle.

RP SAMPLE:
Rapunzel rolled over in bed, yawning—and sucked in a mouthful of hair. Strange… her hair wasn’t long enough to breathe in anymore. She sat up, pulling the hair from her mouth. She opened her eyes and stared in shock at the blond strands that were coming from her head. Impossible! Eugene had cut it, it was short and brown. She looked around the room she was in. No, this wasn’t possible either. She was back in her tower. Had it all been a dream? The lights, her parents, Eugene…? No, she didn’t think it was a dream. It had been too real.
Slowly, she got up and left her room. ”Hello?” No answer. Pascal squeaked from behind her. She ran back to the bed. ”Pascal, I had the craziest dream! I left the tower with a man named Flynn Rider. Well actually his name is Eugene Fitzherbert. But he took me to see the floating lights, the lanterns, and…” She trailed off as she noticed Pascal was shaking his head at her. He crossed the bed to her night table and pointed at the drawer with his tail.
She opened the drawer. Inside was the purple cloth with the golden sun, just like the one from her dream. ”It was… real? But my hair! And I know I fell asleep in the castle, with Eugene, and mom, and dad… What’s going on?” She picked Pascal up and fled the room, skipping down the stairs to the window. She threw it open. Outside wasn’t the clearing she had stared over for the last 18 years. It was a city, like the one around her parents’ castle. Pascal scuttled down her arm to the sill from his place on her shoulder. He paced back and forth excitedly and pointed with his tail, as if saying, let’s go explore!
She went to the kitchen. She tucked the purple cloth in the waistline of her skirt and grabbed Mother Gothel’s basket, filling it with food. Fruits, bread, everything she could. She didn’t know when she would be back, if ever. She needed to find Eugene, find out what had happened, and get back home to her parents. Hooking the basket on her elbow, she went back to the window. Pascal climbed into the basket.
Biting her lip, she took a deep breath. Looping her hair around the hook outside the window, she lowered herself to the ground.
