Original character analysis (In your own words and please be thorough)
Personality: Lady has a kind heart, and a ladylike personality. She is kind and gentle, compassionate and caring. She is very polite, and with the birth of her children, she has become very responsible. As with many creatures, she is determined when she wants something, and will stop at nothing to get it. She can also be quite curious.
History: When Lady was born, she was one of six puppies born to pure-bred cocker spaniels. At less than two months of age, she and her litter mates were sold to various families. A nice man named Jim picked Lady out on Christmas Eve, attached a large red ribbon to her neck, and settled her in a hat box. Less than an hour later, Lady met Darling, Jim’s wife. She had a family.
Her first night, Lady was to sleep in the kitchen, alone. She had never been truly alone before, and it scared her. She stayed up all night, fighting to get through the kitchen door, finally triumphing in the wee hours of the morning. After whining, Jim conceded to let Lady sleep at the food of the bed, “just for tonight”. But Lady found the bed quite comfortable, and from her secure place in Jim Dear and Darling’s hearts, Lady slept on the bed every night.
At six months, Lady received her license, and she was quite proud of it. She proudly showed it off to her best friends, Jock and Trusty. Over the next year, Lady grew accustomed to her life in Jim Dear and Darling’s home. Suddenly, Jim Dear and Darling began treating her differently. She was talking to Jock and Trusty about the matter, expressing concern. They had never treated her this way before. Jock and Trusty gladly informed Lady that Jim Dear and Darling were having a baby! But a new dog told her that she’d soon be kicked out.
The baby was born, and Lady was enchanted by the baby. She met him, and was very gentle. What Lady could see of it, she couldn’t quite see what the fuss was about, but everyone around her seemed overjoyed, so she thought it was something wonderful.
Jim Dear called Aunt Sarah to watch the baby while he and Darling went on a trip. Lady was less than pleased that Aunt Sarah had brought along her two cats, Si and Am. Even less pleasing, Si and Am destroyed the living room and Lady took the blame! Aunt Sarah then took Lady to get a muzzle, which was a new experience for the year-and-a-half-old dog. A new experience she didn’t like. She fought the man at the store and ran off.
While fleeing a trio of angry dogs, Lady passed the stray she had met before. She watched in fear as he fought off the dogs, and was more than relieved when he offered to help her get the infernal contraption off. They went to the zoo.
Lady had never been to the zoo, and she was rather fascinated by the assortment of animals. After a near miss from an alligator, the Tramp talked the beaver into taking the muzzle off their paws, and they left the zoo without a fuss.
Tramp took Lady on a short tour of his homes. The plural part confused Lady; she couldn’t understand why a dog wouldn’t settle down with one family. Finally, Tramp having explained that food was his primary reason for not settling down—different families had different specialties, and Tramp loved them all—Tramp took Lady to Tony’s Italian restaurant for dinner, where they enjoyed a romantic meal of spaghetti and meatballs, as well as their first kiss.
After their dinner, they slept the night away on a hillside. The Tramp was walking Lady to her home when he spotted a chicken farm, and he talked her into chasing them, reassuring her that they wouldn’t be hurt. After fleeing the farmer, she was caught by a dogcatcher, who promptly took her to the pound. Because she had a license, the pound operator called Aunt Sarah, who took Lady home and promptly tied her outside in the doghouse.
After an argument with the Tramp where he walked away with his tail between his legs, Lady spotted a rat climbing into the baby’s bedroom, and her frantic barks alerted the Tramp, who was still nearby. Lady managed to pull the chain from the doghouse. Lady attended to the baby, whose cradle had been knocked over, while Tramp cornered and killed the rat. Aunt Sarah thought Lady was attacking the baby, and locked her in the basement because of it. She called the pound on the Tramp.
Shortly after being locked in the basement, Jim Dear and Darling returned home. Releasing Lady from the basement, she led them into the baby’s room and the family was shocked to see the rat’s corpse. Jock and Trusty, having overheard the discovery of the rat, tracked down the wagon with the Tramp in it and saved him, though Trusty was injured in the process. By the following Christmas, the Tramp had settled in with Lady, and Lady herself had a litter of puppies: Annette, Collette, Danielle, and Scamp.
Ambitions: to keep her family together, to be a good mother for her children, to keep Jim Jr safe
Strengths & Abilities: strong sense of smell, intelligent,
Flaws: naiveté, tends to be too trusting,
Likes: the Tramp, her family, a nice fireplace, pictures, chasing birds, baths, bones, water, biscuits,
Dislikes: Si and Am, rats, muzzles,
Fears: the dogcatcher, losing her family (human or canine),
Anything to add?: Since I can’t have a dog, why shouldn’t I play one?? I love them, almost as much as I love cats.
