Character basics
Character name: Aladdin

Species: Human
Birthplace: Agrabah
Movie: Aladdin
Custom title: Diamond in the Rough
Why: Why'd you pick this character?
Character appearance
Hair description: Due to his Arabic features, Aladdin’s hair is raven in color. Being poor and lower class, his hair is rather unkempt and messy. It is shaggy falling right at the nape of his neck which is relatively long for a man in his area. He wears a very small fez that usually gets lost in his unkempt hair.
Facial description/mood/expressions: Despite being a young adult, Aladdin has a very youthful and friendly expression. His eyes are a dark brown, though hardly harsh, they are expressive of his kindness as well as his innocence and his naivety. His eyebrows are as dark as his hair and also quite thick, enabling Aladdin’s face to convey emotion and expression with quite ease. Despite their thickness, his large eyes are not overpowered by them.
Clothing style: Aladdin is a street rat, so high class clothing was never much of an option for him until his falling in love with Princess Jasmine. Usually his clothing consists of whatever he can get his hands on and is limited to one or two outfits. He is most commonly seen wearing a purple vest with no undershirt due to the intensity of the heat in Agrabah. He also wears baggy white pants, a common style for both men and women in Agrabah, though his are quite old and low quality so patches are often needed for them where they fray.
Since he is technically a prince by association as well now, he wears very different regal clothing as well. When attending such duties with Princess Jasmine, he will normally wear his white ‘Prince Ali Ababwa’ attire, along with a white turban with a large feather.
Body build: Aladdin is on the thin side as to be expected with his poverty. However, despite this, he still manages to maintain somewhat of a fit build due to constantly being on the run (you’re only trouble when you get caught). With a proper diet as of late, he has been bulking up even more, still maintaining his thin physique but with his muscles being much more prominent.

Original character analysis (In your own words and please be thorough)
Personality:
Aladdin is, in every sense of the expression, a Diamond in the Rough. He is extremely poor, but he doesn’t let it knock him down or spend too much time feeling sorry for himself. While his sadness does come from time to time, as to be expected, his undying kindness is always dominating his personality and actions above all else. Aladdin will always approach those with kindness, even if he might not know them right away. While the pretty girls he is kind too are rarely dangerous for him, his willingness to be kind and help others to much has gotten him into trouble on more than one occassion. He is often blinded by his kind nature, and can be deceived or tricked by trusting. While always the first to trust, once the trust is lost or betrayed it is almost impossible to get it back from him.
Despite his naivety in certain situations, Aladdin is very clever and witty. Being a street rat, he is able to think on his feet almost immediately to get out of a tough situation. This will usually involve some lie or far-fetched story, and many many lies. Aladdin’s kindness may dominate his personality, but he isn’t perfect and isn’t one to shy away from lying or deceiving. He will usually only do this to help someone or to get food for himself, but his morals do not stop him too much in that regard. His willingness to lie in situations to benefit himself have caused him trouble, and also revealed some slight selfishness in Aladdin. His lying, namely to Princess Jasmine at the time, were more so a case of Aladdin expressing his insecurities in himself though. He is not proud to be a street rat, and despite his ability to keep on a smile and stay positive most of the time when the world beats him down, the insecurity in himself and his upbringing is almost always there.
History:
Aladdin was born to a very poor mother and an absent father in his life. From a very young age, he felt the need to provide for his mother. They had so little growing up, yet she somehow managed to feed him, clothe him, and provide a home for him. She never wanted Aladdin to steal food though, and she would never tell him when she did (which happened from time to time), always hiding it and just bringing the food home. When he was a young boy, he stole a loaf of bread and brought it home for him and his mother to have. His mother made him bring it back and apologize to the merchant for taking the bread, which he did, and he promised her that he would never steal again.
Aladdin kept that promise. Up until the death of his mother. She fell ill from malnourishment (due to her giving what food they had to her son instead of feeding herself), leaving Aladdin an orphan. As a boy still, Aladdin was scared and alone. He didn’t want to, but he knew he could not keep the promise that he made to his mother to not steal. He had no other option, he had to! He tried to justify it by claiming that he only stole what he could not afford (which was everything), but he was ashamed of it. He started to be more ashamed of himself and his status in society, and also guilty for breaking the promise he made to his mother to not steal. He tried to make it up to her though by expressing kindness to others more and more. If he saw hungry children younger than him or women, he would give what food he stole to them. He did simple chores in exchange for meals and goods from some of the shopkeepers of Agrabah (the ones who would trust him, at least). And one day he even found a monkey that had been abandoned by its honor and took him in. Aladdin named the monkey Abu, and he quickly became the other’s faithful companion. Abu helped ease some of the loneliness Aladdin experienced with the loss of his mother as well.
Aladdin and Abu lived through life meal to meal, but still managed to find some happiness in life still and the willingness to keep going, most notably in eachother. Aladdin thought it would always just be him and Abu, until one faithful day when he saw the most beautiful girl in the marketplace. He had never seen her, since he was essentially snubbed by every other girl his age, and he wanted to get to know her. When she found herself in trouble with the law, Aladdin quickly ran in to save her. He brought her home where they got to know one and other. Aladdin felt connected to her almost instantly, and thought she was the perfect girl for him. Until he discovered she was the princess, which not only brought out his insecurities but also landed him captured by the palace guards and in a prison cell. Despite his belief that she would never want to be with him, he could not stop thinking about the beautiful Princess Jasmine even though he was more or less certain that he would never see her again or get out of the jail cell he was being held in.
An old man came seemingly out of nowhere though and offered Aladdin a proposition - help him get some magic lamp, and give Aladdin an escape and all the gold he wanted. Naively, Aladdin agreed and he found himself in the Cave of Wonders. All went well until Abu broke the only rule the old man warned him about - touch none of the treasure. Aladdin had already managed to get the lamp, but the cave began to collapse in on itself. They nearly managed to escape with the aid of the magic carpet that they befriended, but were trapped in the cave when the old man betrayed them. Thankfully, Abu managed to hang onto the lamp the old man wanted so badly. Curiously, Aladdin rubbed the lamp only to discover it really was magic and there was a Genie inside! A Genie that would grant him three wishes.
He managed to use his wit to weasel one free wish out of the Genie, to escape the cave, and he still had three wishes. He asked the Genie what he would wish for if he had the chance, and found out the other wanted his freedom. Aladdin, being as selfless as he normally was, promised to use his last wish on the Genie to free him. He was more than content having two wishes all for himself. Even though his thoughts were still fixated on Princess Jasmine, he could not wish for her love due to the limitation of the Genie. In order to get around the problem, he wished for the Genie to make him a prince so he could win over the princess. The wish was granted and Aladdin was transformed into the fabulous Prince Ali Ababwa.
Unfortunately, Aladdin believed that being a prince meant that he had to be pompous and arrogant to impress the princess. It backfired quickly and after his grand entrance into the palace, Princess Jasmine snubbed him and ran off. Desperate to get her to pay attention to him, Aladdin made one final attempt to win her over. He went to her balcony on his magic carpet and was able to get her to agree to come with him for a magic carpet ride. On the carpet ride, he began to reveal more of himself, the man that Jasmine was actually infatuated with and less of the man he was pretending to be to impress her. While watching fireworks in China, Aladdin accidentally blew his cover and mentioned Abu, the monkey Jasmine had previously met, and Jasmine found out he was lying. Instead of coming clean about not being a prince, Aladdin covered it up with more lies and continued to convince Jasmine he was a prince. She believed him, and as he brought her back to the palace he kissed her with the aid of the carpet.
Aladdin was ecstatic but danger was right around the corner. As he descended on the carpet, he discovered his friends being held captive and ran into Jafar who attempted to drown him. The lamp thankfully fell into his hands and summons the Genie, who used Aladdin’s second wish to free him. He went back to the palace to report Jafar’s actions to the Sultan and Jasmine. Jafar escaped while during the accusation, and Aladdin and Jasmine believe him to be gone. With Jafar gone, Aladdin’s thoughts became focused on himself and Jasmine, and his insecurities came back. He did not believe he could free the Genie yet, afraid to lose the magic. In this moment of delay though, the lamp fell into Jafar’s hands and he was able to get his own wishes. With the wishes, Jafar made himself the Sultan and the most powerful sorcerer in the world, and banished Aladdin to a snowy exile. The carpet was thankfully exiled with him and Aladdin was able to free the carpet and make it back to Agrabah to battle Jafar and save Agrabah.
Aladdin’s wit came in handy once again and he tricked Jafar into wishing to be a Genie to have more power. Jafar was sealed into the lamp and the magic was reversed, including Aladdin being a prince. The Genie offered to make him a prince once again, but Aladdin learned what danger his selfishness caused in turning back on his word. He freed the Genie instead. His kindess warmed the Sultan’s heart, which caused the Sultan to change the law and enable Jasmine to marry whomever she wishes. Naturally, she chose Aladdin. The two were finally able to express their love for one and other with full honesty.

RP SAMPLE:
“Jasmine? Abu? Carpet? Genie? Anybody?”
Aladdin called out as he looked around the unfamiliar land that he was in. He wasn’t entirely sure how he got here. The last thing he remembered doing was taking Carpet out for a flight, and then there was a sudden flash of bright light and he was here. In this place. This.../woah/, this was an amazing place. Aladdin stood in awe as he looked around at all of the sights there were to see. This kingdom was definitely very different from Agrabah. The buildings were taller, and many different colors as opposed to the consistent beige color that was in Agrabah. They also appeared more square and block-like, also extremely close together much like the marketplace but on a much grander scale. Sort of like a midpoint between the grandness of the palace in Agrabah, but the tight and busy ‘intimacy’ of the marketplace. He found himself sort of frozen where he stood, definitely overwhelmed by everything that he saw. He wanted to figure out how or why he got here, and a part of him was concerned about how he was going to get back to Agrabah or if his loved ones were here too. Despite this more sensible part of him being present, his excitement was also there and very eager to explore this. Aladdin had always been one for adventure after all.
“Well, only one way to find out about all of this!” Aladdin said with a grin as he began to walk forward. As he walked forward, he quickly discovered how much /more/ there was to see. This place was honestly incredible, how much more could there be? He walked past a cart that was selling something that smelt absolutely /amazing/. There was a vague sense of smelling like fresh bread, but the pieces were small and beige in color, almost the size of grapes. He felt his stomach start to rumble as he looked it over, but he felt his pockets empty. He never really carried money around with him, there was never much of a need for it on the adventures with the Genie. He shrugged it off for now, walking past the mystery cart. There was so much else to do in this place, he could get something to eat later. But no stealing. No matter how tempting it was.
As he continued to walk down the street, he noticed something all the way at the end becoming more and more visible. It looked like a very large building, from what he could tell, the biggest one he had seen yet. As he turned the corner, he got a full sight of a massive castle that could compare in size and grandness to the Sultan’s palace. He took a moment to just enjoy the view, finding his eyes fixated on the massive structure before him. “Wow...” He said as he felt his lips curl into a smile. “I don’t really know how I got here, or even why. But wow, am I gonna like it here.” He mumbled to himself as he took a long stride toward the castle to continue his exploration as well as his hunt for Jasmine and the others if they were here.
