Character appearance (try to get at least 2 or 3 sentences for each section)
Hair description: Mickey doesn’t exactly have hair, per se. His body is mostly covered in black fur. However, an interesting fact is that whenever you look at his iconic ears, you can always see both of them facing you at the same time!
Facial description/mood/expressions: Mickey is usually a pretty happy and cheeky fellow and is rarely seen without a smile on his face. However, he does get down in the dumps on occasion when things go really, really wrong, but most of the time, Mickey is a great guy to be around.
Clothing style: Mickey usually wears his iconic red shorts, white gloves and yellow shoes, but can when the occasion permits, change into something more appropriate. Mickey is a very well-rounded character when it comes to his wardrobe, having appropriate outfits ranging from janitor to astronaut to bullfighter!
Body build: Mickey’s a short little fella, really. He’s just a bit over two feet tall, on a good day, and doesn’t even weigh close to a full buck! But one thing is for sure; his lack of size certainly doesn’t keep him from having a lack of character!
Any unique traits (optional): “When people laugh at Mickey Mouse, it's because he's so human; and that is the secret of his popularity. I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing — that it was all started by a mouse.” ―Walt Disney
Original character analysis (In your own words and please be thorough)
Personality:
Mickey is a fun and fancy free type of guy. Though he’s not the biggest fella, or the smartest fella, Mickey is always a reliable, fun loving friend to everyone. That isn’t to say that he doesn’t have his faults, of course. While he may not have a temper to match Donald’s, Mickey can still get pretty upset when pushed too far. And while he may have more common sense than Goofy, Mickey’s love for adventure and mischief sometimes leads him into some scary predicaments, much to the dismay of his best girl, Minnie Mouse. But regardless of all the situations Mickey has found himself in, his creativity and ingenuity (and maybe a fair bit of luck) have usually been enough to get him out of trouble, before he really ends up finding himself in hot water.
Besides Donald and Goofy, Mickey’s best pal hands down is his dog Pluto. Rarely seen without the other, Mickey often goes out of his way to look out for Pluto, even when Pluto is misbehaving. Mickey tends to be a very compassionate mouse, inviting others into his home, which sometimes irks Pluto. But in the end, Mickey always gets Pluto to realize that it’s always better to make new friends, even if it doesn’t seem like a good idea at first. Mickey always tries his hardest to see the good in everyone. No matter how bad or mad or scary someone may be, Mickey truly believes that deep down, there is something good about everyone.
History:
So, Mickey travelled over to Hollywood to visit his pal Walt, and together, they created Mickey’s first short: Plane Crazy. It was in Plane Crazy that Mickey also first met Minnie, and the two fell in love right away. Mickey’s career was rather uneventful, until one fateful showing in mid-November of his latest short, Steamboat Willie. It was his role in Steamboat Willie that really began to kick things off for Mickey.
When the 1930’s came rolling around, Walt had happened upon a new way of showing films: color. Mickey was excited right off the bat, but patiently waited for Walt to try it out on something else first. When Walt felt it was ready, Mickey was then the star of a short called The Band Concert, one of his favorite acting roles of all time. It was during this time that Mickey was introduced to several of his greatest friends, Donald, Goofy, Pluto and others. It was also during this time of the Great Depression, that Mickey took a job with a mysterious man named Yen Sid, in order to pay the bills. Mickey later discovered that Yen Sid was a magic sorcerer, and was fired after an incident occurred where Mickey attempted to use magic to make his chores easier. When he told of the tale to Walt, they decided it would be a great inspiration for a part in a new symphony series he was planning that was later debuted as Fantasia.
The idea for Fantasia ended up being a bad choice for Mickey, as it led to Yen Sid discovering Mickey’s true identity. As further punishment for messing up his secret lair, Yen Sid cast a spell on Mickey, causing him to disappear. What happened to Mickey after that, no one really knows. It was only thanks to Walt that Mickey’s career continued through the magic of cartoons.
