History:
He learned that his Nephew had born, and soon after arrived to his birthday party, much to the chagrin of every other god there excluding his brother. After a failed attempt at harming Hercules and a terrible joke from his brother Zues, he left the event in frustration. He returned home to his minions(Pain and Panic), who explained to him too late that the Fates, whom he had arranged a meeting with, were there. After berating them, he went to confer with the three sisters, since he wished to know if his nephew would mess up his plans to rule Olympus. They admitted that Hades would rule, but stated that Hercules would ultimately stop him. Hades, angered by this, ordered his Minions to kidnap Hercules, give him a specific potion to make him mortal and then kill him. They promptly failed at killing him, and decided not to tell Hades that he was alive on earth.
During the several years of Hercules' growth, Hades met a woman named Megara, who begged him to save her lover's life. He agreed at the price of her freedom from the lord of the dead, and Ironically the man left her for another woman. Because of her bargain, Megara began to work for Hades alongside his minions.
When Megara is saved from a river guardian Hades wanted to recruit, she explains to him that Hercules did it. Hades lost his temper over this before Pain and Panic, in an effort not to be punished, pointed out that he was still mortal. Hades then devised several plans for his nephew to die at the hands of monster, starting with the Hydra only for each one to be killed by Hercules. Finally, he decided to use an unwilling Megara to get close to Hercules and find out his weakness. Megara attempts to lie to him about Hercules having a weakness when she falls in love with him, and Hades concludes that Hercules loves Meg in return. He used her soon after to trick Hercules into giving up his abilities for her safety, and then revealed she was working for him the whole time when he takes his powers. Hades then freed the deadly Titans and sent all of them excluding the Cyclops to attack Olympus, while the Cyclops went to kill the weakened Hercules.
A pillar fell on Meg during the Cyclops attack, and Hercules powers were given back to him because Hades' deal was broken. He then traveled to Olympus and freed his Father along with the other gods, defeating Hades and the Titans in the process. Hades flees back to the underworld, reminding Hercules of Meg's severe injuries. When she died soon after, Hercules travels to Hades himself and demanded her to be brought back. Hades smugly explained that Meg is trapped in the River Styx, and that he couldn't retrieve her soul from there. Hercules made a deal to Hades: his life for Meg's. He eventually agreed on the condition that he retrieve her himself, thinking that Hercules would die in the process. His nephew's heroic act, however, caused him to become a god and escape with Megara. When Hades tried to get on Hercules' good side, he was punched into the River Styx, where he was subsequently dragged into it's depths.
