A Spell Gone Awry? {Open}

"Llévaluq". Mateo gave yet another rap to his tamborita, causing a shot of light which engulfed one of the ships of Avalor, as the young-Royal-Wizard-in-still-training-perhaps had intended it to. There was perhaps little to no logical reason to ever want a ship to float (though who knew in the event of an attack!). Still it would take more than one wizard to accomplish it for an Armada.
That was not Mateo's point here, experimenting as it were and hoping Naomi didn't come complain about it, though she'd be easier to explain to than her father, Captain Turner! Or...maybe "Royal Wizard Business" would do to explain to the man...sure until Naomi found out and laughed his claim to nothing...
Mateo almost sagged off this thought alone, but it would ruin his spell! Oh, yes, and the point of floating ships of Avalor's Armada? A...party trick of sorts (did he know others?) all inspired off two off-hand comments of both Princess Isabel and Lieutenant-of-the-Royal-Guard Gabe. Basic gist being if you could float a ship.
Mateo was out to find out. Not that the ships were exactly floating. Yet. Taking in a breath, Mateo attempted to add a bit more strength to the stream, taking each step slow. This was a bit less fixable than a tiny present...
He hadn't reached enough height, perhaps, to tell if he was any bit successful; the bottom wasn't visible at least in any clear proof, when Mateo thought he detected a sound behind and to the side of him!
Fearing discovery, and having to explain, he turned quickly...but was sure he discontinued the spell. The young wizard would soon wonder over that fact. At any rate the dock disappeared in...well it seemed a swirl, though Mateo actually had very little recollection of any of it and next thing he knew he was sitting...well back on the docks.
Or that was the young wizard's first thought. On glancing about further he noted that the buildings were in all the wrong placement and...looked strange, though not as strange as other parts of this place he would come to find out!
Not only that but the ship he had been attempting to levitate was gone from the harbor now too! And...differing ones there! "What...where...am I?", a typical question came from the teen's lips as he stood and dusted at himself. Oh...right, he noted as his arms disappeared into his sleeves again, he'd been wearing his royal wizarding robe that had once been his grandfather's when out attempting said trick (though he couldn't recall why except maybe in lending credence if he was discovered) and now still had them. Thankfully his normal outfit underneath if it got too hot, since even now Mateo could feel it seemed hotter here somehow, though the sun off a harbor would generally give a warmth to an area.
He also had his bag he at times carried his tamborita in and quickly replaced the outerwear into it for safer keeping and while he figured all this out.
Perhaps first in that, he should see where he was, the thought come to Mateo, and he gave a more encompassing glance about, almost starting at the odd dress of the few people he saw walk by. W-were those considered breeches? Not even Avalor's own boating attire was that casual!
Though being in some odd place (a very close answer off first guess) seemed the most likely, given all the new and unfamiliar about him, Mateo still couldn't help glancing to his tamborita, which had tumbled to this dock in his own tumble. The boy picked it up and glanced at it. "M-maybe I...did something wrong..." he stated to no one and glanced at the wand critically as if looking for anything odd that might explain if he had.
