Who am I? Just a conscience!
Introduce yourself
Hey, howdy, hey! The name's Kraken Guard, and I wished upon a star from Returning roleplayer - been doing some reminiscing over on Tumblr. My other imaginary friends include No-one else at the moment . The Horned King and I are so very eager to join the Worlds of Disney circle of life!
Character basics
Character name: The Horned King
Age: Roughly two-thousand years or more.
Species: Lich - presumably human.
Birthplace: Prydain
Movie: The Black Cauldron(1985)
Custom title: a god among mortal men
Why'd you pick this character? The Horned King was the very first character I had ever roleplayed - and my first character on here too.
Character appearance (try to get at least 2 or 3 sentences for each section)
Hair description: The Horned King has no hair of any kind upon his skeletal head, though it could be assumed that he once did, long ago.
Facial description/mood/expressions: Simply put, the Horned King's face is skeletal. So, with that in mind, one would think he would be entirely incapable of exhibiting any form of emotion through expression alone. This is not the case. Though it is true that he seldom shows emotion, he isn't entirely incapable of expressing himself. He will furrow his brows, and even smirk on occasions, rare as they are. What's most noticeable are his eyes, which will glow red when his emotions are at their strongest.
Clothing style: Crimson robes, with a hood that conceals his face in shadow most of the time. He wears a great fur stole around his shoulders, held by a golden clasp.
Body build: Unlike his face, his body is not at all skeletal. He is tall, and slender, with flesh that is of a rotten olive-green color. He is not 'ripped' in any way, but he is strong, physically.
Any unique traits (optional): Four horns protruding from his scalp. Why else would he be known as the Horned King?
Original character analysis (In your own words and please be thorough)
Personality:
The best words to describe the Horned King's personality is: Ruthless, cruel and dark, and he is often referred to as a 'Black-Hearted Devil' or a 'Joke on humanity' and is feared and despised by all in Prydain, even by his own henchmen. The Horned King holds little to no emotion for his human henchmen and has plans of disposing them once he obtains the Black Cauldron. He also often strangles Creeper with no retorts whenever things do not go his way, and the Horned King does not care whether or not it was an error on Creeper's part. He has also found strangling poor Creeper to be quite stress relieving. Another stress relieving pass-time is riddles. The Horned King enjoys riddles.
Other then this, the Horned King is calm but at the same time very stressed. The long years of searching for the Black Cauldron has caused him to have delusions of godhood and has also left him detached from society, humanity and maybe even reality. The thought of searching for something that had never existed in the first place torments him greatly and not having found any traces of it further adds up to the stress. However, he does not want anyone to know that he is stressed and hides it from everyone. However, there are times where he would enter into a fit of rage due to stress. Whenever this happens, it's best to steer clear as you do not want to be caught in one of his rage fits...
While it is minor, the Horned King also has a thing against mirrors due to hearing tales of a magic mirror created by the Fair Folk of Prydain that could possibly be used as a weapon against him; A mirror that could reveal a persons true inner self. Due to this, the Horned King is cautious toward mirrors.
History:
Tale once told of a great huntsman under the command of Arawn Death-Lord, known only as the Horned King; with a skeletal mask to conceal his face, and arms stained red from the blood of his enemies. No one knew where he came from, or what his true identity was; only that he was a powerful warrior - one of Arawn's strongest, and most ruthless. What became of this champion after Arawn's defeat remains unknown; but over the years, the story of the Horned King faded away into obscurity.
Many years had passed, and Prydain had fallen under threat once more. The Horned King, an undead sorcerer, had taken up residents within the ruined castle of King Gwydion, and declared war upon the present king of Prydain. For several years they battled; but the Horned King's ambition was far more than mere conquest. He sought complete reconstruction of Prydain - of the world. But he could not realize his dark vision through force alone. He needed an artifact of great, and terrible, power, to help him in his quest. One that could reanimate the corpses of Men long deceased.
The Black Cauldron. An ancient crucible what was once said to contain the evil spirit of Arawn, the Death-Lord of old.
In secret, the Horned King had searched far and wide for this legendary cauldron; but the Black Cauldron had not been seen for over two-thousand years, and there were few that remained who knew of the tale. After so long, the Horned King had run out of options. He needed to find someone - or something, with magical qualities. And so, the Horned King set sail to Caer Colur on the Isle of Mona, and took the princess from her home. Princess Eilonwy, as she called herself, was a young girl, capable of performing minor enchantments. She had with her a magical bauble: The Golden Pelydryn. The Horned King demanded that she reveal the location of the Black Cauldron with her magic bauble, but his demands were to no avail...
However, it was shortly after this when he learned of Hen Wen, an oracular pig that could reveal visions of the future. With knowledge of this swine, the Horned King sent forth his Gwythaints to find the oracular pig. Dallben, an old wizard, and keeper of the magical pig, became aware of the Horned King's plans, and sent his young protege, Taran, out with Hen Wen to find a place where she could be kept safe and hidden. But the Gwythaints had found her, and taken her to the Horned King.
Taran followed the Gwythaints, and found his way into the castle where the Horned King took residence. But the boys presence did not remain undetected for long. He was soon discovered, and was made to use Hen Wen's powers to reveal the location of the legendary Cauldron... The boy made an attempt to escape the castle after splashing the king's face with water. The huntsman of the Horned King captured the pig-keeper, but they had lost the swine. The next day, Taran, along with two other inmates, the Princess Eilonwy, and Fflewddur Fflam, a minstrel who had been taken captive some weeks prior, had escaped.
This turn of events proved insightful to the Horned King, knowing that the boy's first objective would be to find the pig. Once more, the Gwythaints were let loose, and the huntsmen followed suit... In the end, Taran and his group were found within the Marshes of Morva, but no pig did they find. Instead, they had found something far greater.
The Black Cauldron...
Taran, Eilonwy, and Fflam, were taken back, and held as prisoners once more. But this time, they would be made to watch as the Horned King set his plan into motion at long last. With the powers of the Black Cauldron, the reanimated the bodies of warriors long deceased - bodies that he had collected during all his years of searching, had come to life. The Horned King had dubbed them as the "Cauldron-Born," and set them out upon Prydain.
However, his plans were short-lived. Unbeknownst, a small creature, known as Gurgi, was among Taran's group. The huntsman had failed in capturing Gurgi, and the small creature ventured forth and released Taran and his friends.
The Black Cauldron was an object of great power. Physically, it could not be destroyed; but it's powers could be halted, only at the cost of ones life, and it must be offered willingly. While Taran was willing to sacrifice himself, Gurgi objected, and took his place... One by one, the Cauldron-Born fell, and returned to their inanimate state. Enraged, the Horned King set out to investigate the disturbance, and found the pig-keeper, Taran.
Furious, the Horned King set out to kill the boy in an act of revenge, under the assumption that Taran was the one who foiled his plans; but the Horned King was taken by a terrible force of magic originating from the Black Cauldron, and was pulled toward the evil artifact.
Try as he could, the Horned King was unable to escape Arawn's grasp, and his soul and body were ripped, and burned away by the Black Cauldron...

A tall figure clad in robes of red was seen on the docks, gazing out over the horizon. It was curious of him to be on a ship such as this. He loathed water. But if boarding this ship would lead him to a portal - a gateway of some sorts. Something that would take him back to Prydain, he would endure the sea-sickness...
The Horned King had spent his moments looking out over the sea. It was time for him to see what his temporary lair on this ship would look like...
As he made his way through the ship, he ignored the other humans as they cast him uncomfortable glances. It was a lot better then having everyone chasing after him and begging for him to sign an empty page of their book with his name. Although, after a demonstration of his powers, the humans made sure that they steered clear of him.
Finally, the Horned King arrived in front of the door leading in to his temporary lair. reaching his hand out to turn the handle of the door, the Horned King opened it, went inside, and was suddenly greeted by a familiar growling sound. The Horned King looked around for the source of the growling and saw, on top of one of the beds: Toby.
That mutt that always followed Basil of Baker Street wherever he went... A heavy sigh was heard from the Horned King. Perhaps he was better off staying at the parks... Still, if this ship would lead him back to Prydain, he will suffer. For now...
The Horned King looked around for a chair that was free from the... Very small luggage of Basil's. Once he had found one, the Horned King sat down and pulled out his recently acquired book: Disney Villains, the Top Secret Files.
"Not very secret anymore," The Horned King thought to himself as he read the title of the book. Ignoring the growling dog, he opened the book and proceeded to read through...
