Mr. Incredible couldn't have been more pleased upon realizing that Elastigirl indeed liked his gift. A single rose. He'd never say it out of fear of being overly cheesy, but he hoped she got it. A bundle of roses would've just been too much to convey the significance that she was the one fascinating red head that he could ever notice among a sea of others. Even out of a dozen women, she was the only one that mattered. Very much like that lone rose. Then again, perhaps the hopeless romantic was merely overthinking the whole thing. Maybe she just liked roses or thought he was sweet for bringing it.
He smiled nonetheless, hearing her offer her thanks as she stepped closer to put on that charm, fiddling with his tie, already looking as though she was debating whether or not to take it off of him. Heh. He couldn't blame her. He looked mighty fine. Just as she was about to ask him a question, Blazestone would suddenly appear to ruin literally everything. He almost winced when he felt Elastigirl create a bit of a distance between them at the appearance of the third super. It took every ounce of Bob's willpower to not roll his blue eyes beneath that mask upon seeing her. Being the best friend of her ex, he always did seem to get caught up in her awkward encounters lately. This time, perhaps at the very worst moment imaginable.
"Uh, yeah." The lumbering male brought his large hand to the back of his neck, looking utterly uncomfortable when he was questioned about Frozone's location. Of course he knew where the guy was. But he wasn't going to betray his best friend. Guy code and whatnot. Being the terrible liar that he was, he simply refused to make eye contact with the female super, pretending to be distracted by the gorgeous decorations of the party that surrounded them. "Yeah, I haven't seen 'im yet. I dunno. Maybe he'll stop by." Mr. Incredible left it at that and hoped that Blazestone would pry no further. He had enough on his plate for the night and he really didn't need to play the mediator between Frozone and his exgirlfriend if he could avoid that.
"Anyhow..." He started, turning his attention back to Elastigirl, happy to silently note that Blazestone seemed mostly satisfied with his cover story and had left them alone to undoubtedly go and pester some of the other guests about Lucius' whereabouts. Then again, her sudden desire to walk away could have very well been due to the appearance of Downburst, he looked at her the same way Mr. Incredible looked at a club sandwich. Creepy.
"You were saying?" In an attempt to pick back up where he and his date had left off, another fellow Super walked passed to greet him. "Downburst." Bob interjected before the hero with healing powers could even say anything. Luckily for Mr. Incredible, the Super in question was far too interested in stalking Blazestone to even give Elastigirl a second glance. Yeah, that's what I thought. Keep walkin'. He thought, thankful that Downburst didn't bother offering to make him a bicycle again.
"Anyway..." Mr. Incredible began once again before another Super came over to rather annoyingly make himself known. "Ah, Everseer. Good to...er...see you. This is Elastigirl, I dunno if you've met."
"I already know who she is." The colorful hero replied with an snobby sense of arrogance.
"Of course you do.." Bob replied, shaking his head as the clairvoyant hero continued to pass them by.
"Well, hellooo..." Came another voice. The insufferable Gamma Jack had made his way over to Elastigirl. Mr. Incredible's lips curled into a frown, causing him to bite down on whatever insult his mouth had already started to form.
"Keep walkin', pal." He spat as politely as he could muster, causing 'Handsome Jack' to cautiously go on about his business.
"I'm sorry about that...Heh." Bob turned back to his date, feeling utterly helpless to avoid such encounters with the other guests. Truthfully, most of them he liked, but he had only chosen to mingle at the party for one reason and, since arriving, he had hardly had time to even talk to her.
