The fact that she had once teased her cousin Miguel on talent and talent shows was firmly in Rosa's mind right now, but then again it hadn't been her fault! They hadn't known he played! What was she supposed to think he did for talent? That and...teasing him had just been her way of showing love to her kid cousin in a way.
She should turn her own words about on herself though! There was no way what she was currently scratching out on her violin (in more music than scratching now, yes) was anywhere near good enough for anyone but her family to hear! Oh what had she been thinking, listening to both Miguel and her father's own biased praising of her playing?!
Nope, that was it, she was not going to play for anyone in the plaza just yet! She was not ready!
Setting her violin back into it's case, Rosa sighed, and still felt some hesitancy about getting up and telling her younger cousin of her decision...he'd worked so hard, and was so happy now that music was back...and their family made sacrifices for family, did they not?
Rosa stood, still undecided, but taking first would help, "Hey Miguel...", she slung her violin case on her back, for what reason she didn't know, and exited her parent's home of the Rivera courtyard and started off...and at first didn't notice that anything was amiss. The slightly dusty floor of a rounded circle of buildings and...wait a minute...
As no doubt happened for most, Rosa was unclear at what point anything did change, but...this was not the Rivera courtyard! The girl turned a slow circle staring at...at houses that looked closer to what Mama Imelda probably saw around Santa Cecilia in her day even if even that was wrong! Rosa knew about Westerns on television and this looked like she'd been directly plopped into one!
"M-Mama...Papa...", she knew they weren't around, but somehow couldn't help slightly calling, though her voice didn't raise, and as if this were some elaborate joke though she didn't know how it could be...
"A-Abuelita...anyone?"
