For the first time, the Land of the Dead wasn't so terrible. It had taken a while with a lot of hurdles to face in order to reconnect with his wife, Imelda, but she helped patch up his torn up clothes and even gave him shoes! She was really good at what she did! Though there were still things that needed to be worked out and get used to between them, like his stuff from the Shanty Town he used to live in meshing with her things after her years of independence, but as long as he was with her, he would do whatever it takes to make it work. Not to mention also him being able to reconnect with his family in the Land of the Dead was like a dream! Like spending time with Imelda's twin brothers again, or getting to know Coco's husband and granddaughter... but especially spending time with Coco once she finally arrived. From one day being a dad to suddenly being a grandfather was a process that Héctor was honestly thankful to be a part of, and he couldn't have done it without Miguel. Ah, he really missed ese chamaco! It made him a bit sad to think that he wouldn't ever get to spend time with his great great grandson like they did before, only in spirit. It definitely made him appreciate the moments he did have with his great great grandson though, and he knew that's more than anyone can say for someone who is already dead that cannot spend more time with someone from the living.
Héctor was spending time with Coco and Imelda, listening to them both singing together with his eyes closed and a smile curving over his goatee, when he blinked his large eyes in terror upon seeing a glowing person instantly pop out from underneath where he was laying on. "Wh-?! AHH!" In his terror, his eyes rolled down to his jaw and his body frantically rolled away until he suddenly fell off of whatever he was on, causing his bones to be split apart on the ground. Putting himself back together, he instantly sat up to rest his elbows on the coffin that he realized he was on with a smile. "Ahaa..Nobody.. saw that..!" He lied with a bright grin as he glimpsed around shamefully, hoping no one did. "Ha ha!...Very funny.. trying to scare me..well it didn't-!" The pouty Hector pinched the bridge of his nose as he was about to childishly defend himself to the insult of being scared by the prank, then turning around with a raised an index finger behind him to admonish the person responsible when his index finger dropped weakly upon finding no one around him. Instead more.. glowing persons.. but they weren't skeletons. "Oye..(Hey)" Bravely, he poked one of them to find that it didn't react, just kept moving in the same pattern of movement. Placing a skeletal hand over his straw hat as he blinked in confusion, he realized that this was beyond some kind of practical joke. Someone would be laughing right now. At least Gustavo would.
"¿¡I-Imelda?! ¿¡Coco?! ¿¡Dónde están?!" Héctor called out to them, raising his voice in hopes to be heard amidst the music. The tall skeleton in the vest began to walk around, using his height to fully see his surroundings of what looked like a cemetery, only he wasn't used to seeing this kind of cemetery before. There were dozens of glowing people that were not skeletons doing a variety of things. Naturally, the musician went over to the ones playing music with a curious smile and then turned to find movement in the corner of his eyes, only to find people and children in moving black sleighs?! He was in the land of the living?! But how-?! "What..." He blinked in astonishment upon seeing one of the children point at him as if she recognized him...but wait.. wait..that can't be?! How can she see him?! "Waaiiit-No.. no, no..." He began to think pensively about how this situation happened, before his eyes widened upon realizing that he had to be in the land of the living, as if he were cursed here like Miguel was in the land of the dead! "No.. NO.. NO.NO.NO!!! ¿¡Imelda?! ¿¡Coco?!" The skeleton yelled in denial before placing his hands over his face, not wanting to think that JUST when he was finally together with his family, he was pulled away from it! CURSED even!
"Oh my gosh! They even got him from the movie!"
What was she talking about? "Hijole..ando bien pedo, no? (gee..I must be drunk)" Héctor remarked sardonically as he slid his skeletal hand down his decorated skull face after face-palming himself, a frown curving down his mouth remorsefully as he failed to come up with any other reason, though he knew that this wasn't the case. He didn't remember drinking tequila this time, anyway. "Because... this is NOT happening! In actuality.. I am at home! With Imelda! And Coco..! And..!" He exclaimed with a desperate grin, almost as if he were going crazy to think that he was losing his family all over again. No, he needed to keep calm. What would Imelda think about all of this?
Suddenly, it dawned on him. His eyes widened with his mouth parting in frantic worry. What if she thought he left her again?! The one chance he was showing that he had changed, and he could ruin it all over again just by somehow being here! "No, not again! I am getting out of here!" He exclaimed and desperately tried to run towards the moving sleigh thingys, hoping he could find space in one of them to ride in so that he could get out of here.
