Dash giving back as good as he got, at least with looks, in terms of her teasing wasn't helping Rosa behave herself and not egg him on, much like with all of the boys in her family.
He was still trying in terms of manners, and she supposed that was all she and Miss Helen could ask.
Rosa continued to just watch her little charge as they reached this line next, the one he seemed most excited about, if his hopping around was any indication. She almost teased, didn't he have flying powers too? But recalled to not mention powers.
The boy's attention was now 100% drawn, and Rosa suspected she couldn't have regained it if she had needed Dash's opinion or such for anything! She shook her head with another smile. Thankfully she didn't need the boy for anything and they were soon through to the cars.
"Alright, which one?", she asked and let him pick.
Dash could all but hear the roar of the engines! Ohhhhhh! Acceptable Speed! This would not be like track (not that Dash didn't love track) he could punch it as hard as he could! One thing about Dash's powers was that they were tied to his feet, literally, or he couldn't transfer it to a machine. It would probably be frustrating more than the boy was now admitting to himself, to punch the car and have it only able to go so fast, but it also meant he couldn't mess up and go too fast. Inside the car.
But why would he be outside the car? They wouldn't let him do that...
Dash conveniently forgot about his own competitiveness, like he often did when he wanted to do something or justify something to himself, and for a moment pretended he was a boy who let rules stop him.
Currently, Dash just hopped on his feet until Rosa got them through the line though.
"Alright, which one?"
Dash scanned, and while he was not in any way associated with Jumba Jookiba's (who he hadn't met yet) alien Experiments, he agreed with the last one in the set that Red Cars were cool.
"That one! The red one!", Dash rushed up to it, and of course got behind the wheel. He would drive!

"That one! The red one!"
Rosa didn't want to be constantly rolling her eyes, even to herself, this boy just...assigned himself a type so well and then kept sticking to it! She smirked and followed with a shake of her head. At least, he was letting her walk over. Of course Dash got behind the wheel, but then they were on a guided track, the kid (and they) would be fine, and he could get out some of that energy.
"You driven before?", Rosa was of course teasing the ten-year-old, but then who knew what Supers let their Super Kids do? Maybe he had. She still doubted it though.
She watched people file in and pick other cars until there were enough to set off and the light turned. Rosa didn't notice herself grip the side of the car as she prepared for them to set out, but blinked and then saw she had, next removing her hand lest Dash think she was worried.
Dash laughed as he glanced back over to her, before he caught the parts of that that weren't kidding, or were just not sure. Oh, of course, she didn't know everything on Supers and all.
"Nah! Well...yes...but no...", he admitted, confusing he knew. He sighed. "I 'drove'...", air-quotes, "...a car with my voice once. It was a fancy cool super-smart car that did anything I said, but Vi still didn't let me sit behind the driver seat so no, I didn't technically drive anything", Dash admitted, giving a small pout about that fact; and despite the fact he had still controlled a smart-car, like he said.
Everyone seemed to have picked their cars and they prepared to set out. Dash sat up, watching intently and gripping the wheel. Thankfully, in the red, Dash was in front, and once the Cast Member gave the go ahead he floored the pedal! Rosa hadn't been too presumptuous to grip her door. Arguably he expected the tires to squeal, at least a bit, before he recalled he was on a track and they started out at a moderate pace.
By his estimation anyway. There was still an odd jolt as they set out. "Woah did you feel that?", Dash asked, testing the pedal again and seeing what he could get the car to do and not do, "We almost jumped the track! Cool!". There was some give and take, and he had to keep the car from bumping the wall, he found, but they were still guided away from other cars' paths to the side.
Dash went along sort of normally, then gave another test and revved the pedal as far as he could. They attempted an escape, but only to the side, and it slowed them a bit. "I got it, I got it!", Dash explained his learning curve before Rosa could interject.

Yes and No was Dash’s answer, but Rosa felt she understood it, even before he explained.
”I 'drove'...a car with my voice once. It was a fancy cool super-smart car that did anything I said, but Vi still didn't let me sit behind the driver seat so no, I didn't technically drive anything"
She smirked, ”Sounds fun”. Honestly, Dash was from shortly before Mama Imelda’s last days, and the Sixties, as Rosa had heard, but the sort of tech he was familiar with surprised even Rosa with her smart phone know-how.
They set out, and at first Rosa wasn’t too concerned. Until they jolted!
“Woah did you feel that? We almost jumped the track! Cool!"
Rosa had. She had gripped the door again. She grimaced. ”Not cool...let’s not...”, she hated that she sounded what Miguel would no doubt call “stuffy” but...well broken and out of control rides were not good things!
She tried to relax, yet despite her warning, felt Dash test the car again.
”I got it, I got it!"
He went on, before she could say anything. She just nodded, but looked a bit unsure...and checked her seat belt again.
Rosa sounded like she might not believe it had been fun, the way she said her words, but Dash knew she was just kidding him. She had to be! It had been fun! How could you hear about a car like that and not understand that fact! But on to the car he was driving now!
"Not cool...let's not..."
Dash rolled his eyes slightly (but kept her from seeing it of course). Still, he'd told Mom he would behave for the Rivera's oldest currently there, and so he did so by not arguing her stuffy stance like he would have with Vi. Instead he just grinned, "Don't worry, I don't think I could...".
A car on the other path passed by, mostly due to Dash's distraction, and letting the car slow a bit as he said this (or slow for him, they were still moving). "Oh no you don't!". Even on a ride with moderated speed, The Dash would not be passed by anyone! He floored the pedal and the car jostled forward once again until the blue of the car in his sights was behind them. "Haha, take that!", Dash laughed.
He was now in the lead again, and maybe could slow up except...he always slowed up, especially in track. With ride imposed moderating, he would for once not slow up! Dash continued to push it, getting...ok speed, but not exactly happy with it still...
Then a yellow car on the other other track caught up.

Rosa wasn't trying to ruin Dash's fun, and understood that racing other cars was the name of the game here (on a safe, guided track...the idea had sounded perfect) but the way Dash was going about it had her more than a bit worried! She recalled that Competitiveness Miss Helen had tried to warn her about.
"Haha, take that!"
Rosa glanced behind them at the blue car that Dash had made such a priority. "Good job...you passed a two year old who's father is doing all the steering", she praised sarcastically with a grin. Not that Dash seemed to be listening to her, he was now focused on a yellow car and beating that one. Oh well, he was still contained in, and both of their seat belts were secure. Let him have his fun.
”Good job...you passed a two year old who's father is doing all the steering"
Dash wasn’t thrown one bit by her snide point and, more importantly, understood that Rosa would understand his answering back.
”Well, if they’re two, they’re not driving, not really, and I still beat the dad!”, Dash answered back with a grin, before focusing on his race once more.
Ugh! But the car! It was so useless past a certain punch of the accelerator! Dash pressed and pressed, but the car just steadily whizzed along at a constant speed, unless it slowed!
Dash recalled thinking the moderated speed a good thing not long before, but...well it wasn’t anymore.
Still, in the spirit of behaving, like he’d told Mom he would, he tried again a few more times before sighing frustrated! ”Forget it! I can’t...”.
Dash cut off and didn’t explain further, or not his reasoning. ”Here, scoot over and steer”, he said, before hopping from the car and rushing around back to grip the metal bumper! ”And hold on!”, he had the goodness to warn before starting to run!

”Well, if they’re two, they’re not driving, not really, and I still beat the dad!”
Rosa sent the boy a bored look for his point; and tried to hide a slight smile with her head shake as she faced forward again. She intended to just watch the other cars, let Dash race off some of his energy, try to enjoy it (as long as he didn't pull anything) but...well she knew the boy enough by now to know that of course he had to try to pull something.
She blinked at his frustrated tone, but wasn't really worried...until he left the car!
”Here, scoot over and steer”
"What? Dash!", Rosa craned back to look at him, then recalled he'd left her in charge of the car, even if she didn't feel she could hit anything, with it on a guided track, still, she should keep up speed and avoid the walls...and get her charge back in the car! "Dashiell Robert Parr, you get back in this car!", cringe rhyme she tried to avoid aside, it was a perhaps sad commentary that he was called his full name enough for Rosa to know it and pull it at this moment, in her best older sister voice.
"And hold on!”
Seemed to state how much effectiveness that voice had on him. Probably because she wasn't in fact his family. Rosa knew that mattered, and with little boys of Dash's age and temperament.
But there was so much wrong with this!
"But...", Rosa made sure they had a clear stretch, to give her enough space to glance back at him within, "Your mother said you're not supposed to do this kind of stuff in public!", Rosa hissed to remind him of identities and all. Miss Helen wasn't here, it was up to her to talk sense into this kid!

"Hey that's pretty good! Are you a song writer too, like your grandpa?"
No it hadn't been, in fact, she'd been more than a bit glad Papa Héctor hadn't been around to hear it!"Dash...", she knew he was just stalling, so didn't answer that no that was Miguel who also wrote songs.
At first, she wondered why he was taking this from bad to worse with his zipping off and leaving her in the car now unattended! But before she could really wonder over where he was going, and how she would catch back up with him, he was back. In costume. Rosa sighed, and turning forward, slumped down in her seat tired and defeated a bit as she got the plan.
Yeah, this would solve everything! She thought sarcastically.
"Hi! A little boy getting corn-dogs said you need my help, and the car is stuck! Hold on Miss, I'll save you!"
Rosa shook her head, and muttered something to herself before addressing Dash, "Thanks, but actually I need you to go find that--", she began; before Dash really started to run! Now her hands really gripped the sides, or one side, as they zoomed off. She was about to try to warn Dash about cars ahead on the track...when they jumped the track completely. Great.
This was how it was supposed to be done! Dash grinned to himself as they zipped along! And he was in costume, so he could run as fast as he wanted! Never-mind he was sort of being more of a menace than a help...
Not that Dash (or The Dash) saw it that way, if he did, he would have stopped immediately, of course! Being a menace was completely against what he was about as a Good Super who helped people; he just thought right now that he was helping this not be boring for him and Rosa! And he had complete control and knew exactly what he was doing as he zipped by other cars and around wherever he wanted! They had lapped the other cars so many times, it was hard to keep count! Dash most certainly had won by this point!
"Excuse me...will the detached-red car and Super please come over to the starting line again. Before we call in reinforcements...", a very very customer service-ish voice of a Cast Member said over a speaker they apparently could find. It did half pause Dash. Oh they were probably concerned with if he would put the car back, which he would! Dash pondered how long he had between that announcement and any actual calling of whatever reinforcements was.
Post by Rosa Rivera on Feb 27, 2019 8:43:51 GMT -5
Rosa didn’t even realize she’d shut her eyes on some of the zips by other cars, and just in general, but also felt few would blame her really! This had gone beyond a bad babysitting session. So far beyond!"Dash...!", from where she had slumped down further into her seat, to remain in the car and all, Rosa attempted lifting herself up again to turn and face her charge.
To try to gain control back over the situation, and insight reason once again!
"Excuse me...will the detached-red car and Super please come over to the starting line again. Before we call in reinforcements..."
That announcement spoke over anything Rosa would have said, but probably more effectively. Hopefully. Dash slowed just the tiniest bit as he took in the announcement himself, and it gave Rosa the opportunity to fully raise herself up and face the boy. "There! You see, they're going to call Security on you if you don't turn yourself in now. You broke a ride, Dash, not to mention...", she motioned around them, at the people who had slowed to avoid the kid, or were even now being waved back in by another Cast Member.
Amidst slowing and trying to figure out what kind of time he had in which to reply, Rosa turned to face him with very cutting words!
"There! You see, they're going to call Security on you if you don't turn yourself in now. You broke a ride, Dash, not to mention..."
She motioned around, and Dash looked. Stunned. Before blinking and glancing back to Rosa, "S-security?! But...that's like police!", Dash stated the obvious. He probably sounded like he wanted to avoid trouble (and he did!) but also there was a bigger issue here.
"No, no, no, no, no, no, no!", Dash let go of the bumper and waved his hands frantically, next gripping his hair. "Only bad guys get the police called on them and--". And there had been that time he'd sat in a police station waiting room, with Vi and Jack-Jack, while Mom and Dad were questioned in the back about Superhero activity. Like they were criminals.
Dash had had enough of that feeling! They were legal now, even here and...
The boy seemed to deflate, and suddenly looked all of his his worried ten-years of age. He glanced back over to Rosa. "You...you gotta help me, Rosa. I--I'm not a criminal! I--I was just making the ride fun!".

"S-security?! But...that's like police!"
Rosa sighed slightly, about to point out all of the obvious in Dash's statement, when she really noticed his look. He wasn't faking, he was genuinely scared. Or worried at the least, and about something beyond getting in trouble.
He let go of the car, waving his hands in denial, along with his words, and next gripping tightly to his blonde locks in the clear signs of a kid about to freak out. Rosa had dealt with enough younger boys to tell.
Her own firm look faded, and she slowly got out of the car even as he went on.
"You...you gotta help me, Rosa. I--I'm not a criminal! I--I was just making the ride fun!"
He was clear he thought he had been...
Rosa sighed again, but rather than state her points once more, she semi-surprisingly just stepped forward to hug the boy. Sure there was a chance he could be melodramatic faking, but she didn't think so.
Dash just ran on ahead. It was like a personality defining quality.
"It's ok Dash...", she was thankfully keeping her voice low both times saying his name with him in costume (though The Dash wasn't that hidden of a Super name...), she pulled back a bit to glance to him, "I can't promise you're not gonna be grounded like a whole year, but...hey I'm still the bigger kid in charge here aren't I? Don't you worry, I got this".
With an arm still around his shoulder, Rosa walked them over to where the ride started from. All of the other cars had stopped and been brought in by now, in preparations of them fixing the ride.
One mother had to complain about it of course. "You ruined the ride, what were you think--".
Rosa was far too polite to actually answer the woman back, but apparently her sharp glance did not do too badly at mimicking Mama Imelda because she at least got the woman to pause in what she said, and that was all Rosa needed, next turning her attention to the Cast Members they were approaching.
"Sorry sir, I...think this little Super here thought I was stuck", there was not a way to explain this and not give away Dash's identity as the same kid she'd started out with, so she went with a fib, and hoped her great-great-grandparents wouldn't be too disappointed if they found out.
"I'll be happy to see about damages". The offer, coming from her, just a kid herself, was enough and with a sigh, the Cast Member told Dash it would be a warning this time. They wouldn't even ban him like they were going to!
Oh, he was in so much trouble! What had he been thinking?
Dash was aware what others would tell him. He had made his bed, now he had to...iron it, or something...
Ok, he didn’t know the saying.
Yet, Rosa didn’t lecture him.
”It's ok Dash...I can't promise you're not gonna be grounded like a whole year, but...hey I'm still the bigger kid in charge here aren't I? Don't you worry, I got this".
Dash glanced to her. Hopeful. He then just followed as they walked over to the starting line, oddly meek.
”You ruined the ride, what were you think--".
Dash actually sort of flinched; until Rosa sent the lady a look and she stopped! Not only that, but Rosa kept to what she had said and talked them out of trouble with the Cast Members!
”Sorry sir, I...think this little Super here thought I was stuck"
Ok...she kinda had to lie, unnecessarily, because of him...
Still...along with trying to look contrite, Dash looked impressed!
”I'll be happy to see about damages".
Rosa went on. Or his allowance would, Dash knew...but they let them off there too!
”Wow Rosa! That was incredible!”, Dash said, once they were out on the main walkway again. He then winced, and knew the answer even as he asked (lowly, since he was still in costume) ”So...about telling my mom...?”
Panchito: It's nothing like I expected, but I'm still anticipating good things.

Nick Wilde: But so far from what I read, it is good. The most immersive Disney ever did. Cast members actually having a backstory and name in the setting, characters constantly interacting with the guests in-character...
Jun 8, 2019 8:49:33 GMT -5
Nick Wilde: Guests actually being encouraged to make their own story, and play a part in the land..
