Mikey hefted the pillow, trying to decide who to hit with it next. This was going to be fun, especially since he had the only pillow in the room!
Then the body builder walked out, and the tiger-man stood up to give a speech.
"No pillow fight?" Maybe later. He hoped.
Goob sat down on the pillow to listen. It was kind of like Show and Tell, but less fun. If he had only known, Goob would've done his homework. But he stood up next anyway.
"My name is Michael Yagoobian. Hi. That's Doris," he pointed out the hat, now floating near the mean-looking duck. "Together we've done all kinds of rotten stuff. Like bringing dinosaurs to the present to kidnap kids. And stealing inventions. And enslaving unsuspecting minions." He thought the insertion of an evil chuckle would fit in here. "I just want to get revenge on my old roommate. But he's not here, so...um...I'm open to suggestions."
After a painfully long pause in which he couldn't think of anything else to say, Mikey sat back down.
Yzma just kept up a running mental tab of who was being difficult and not; no doubt like the others assembled, looking for allies as well, who they could work with and not. Of course then the lion got distracted by the fact that he knew the other she had invited, Zira. She had already asked about him, but Yzma filed away the recognition for later knowledge if she needed it.
Oddly the one being the most annoying, and making the most trouble, was also making a not too bad case for himself.
"Hahahaha! This beast is crazy!"
Yes, it was borderline obnoxious how arrogantly clueless he was...unless one needed henchmen on whom philosophy and thinking for themselves was lost. Oh she could mold this so well!
He wonderfully misunderstood her words too! Not even being insulted by her slipped threat of being an ant-eater. Really she could get away with threatening him too and he wouldn't catch on? As long as she was careful of course.
She just rolled her eyes as he took all the beer steins, letting him have that for the price of his being one of her henchmen later. And for leaving now.
As soon as he left, Shere Khan was back on point, a...good trait. He was was very Leadership Oriented himself, though most villains tended to be. It was hard to tell if she could work with him or not, she would have to try it out to see.
In an actual alliance, such as she'd set up this meeting for. Not just using him; he was too smart.
"I am Shere Khan, owner of Khan Industries, and one of the most influential people in my world. My corporation has stakes in every country. I have my own airforce and navy to protect my investments. I've made deals that are both within the law, and outside of it. And I care not about who I work with, so long as I get two things in return: money, and power. As such, an alliance would be most beneficial. Beneficial for me, as I can secure my investments. And beneficial for you, because you'd get paid."
Yzma nodded, "I agree, Mr. Khan, thank-you", she showed just enough interest, as a good Still-Aspiring-Empress should.
Then the boy went. Honestly, what Yzma had heard was true; the hat was all of the true evil of the two. Still, he had some admirable Revenge-Bent tendencies, same as she had.
"Ah, revenge, always admirable", Yzma sounded like she was complimenting a kid...and she was, but also serious. "I will keep an eye out for this roommate of yours; yes, and, if anyone runs into an Emperor Kuzco I'm still open to killing him as well for firing me...", she muttered, "But I digress, anyone else?"
Hoo, boy, this introducing yourself was lame! But Negaduck was willing to play along for the time being.
"Name's Negaduck," he began, stabbing a thumb at his chest. "I've run gangs, played it solo, whatever works. My agenda, besides getting back to my world, is just to stamp out the do-gooders before they stamp us out. They outnumber us ten to one, not even counting the rubes who come here for fun, so I figure banding together is the answer. Money's great; I'll take my share, as long as it comes with mayhem perpetrated on the heroic types."
"I've got all the hardware we need. And if there's anything you don't see, I can probably put it together." If it wasn't too complicated. But he left that part out. "And I've got the moves."
"Plus, I'm totally on board with trading a favor for a favor. If you want somebody offed," here he looked meaningfully at Yzma, "I'm your duck. Then you can do something for me, and everybody goes home happy."
He had little need of a power broker like Khan, but Yzma's magic might be just what Negs had been looking for.
Throughout the chaos, Zira kept her distance. She didn't even know who any of these characters were, aside from villains, and her brief meeting with Shere Khan of course. He didn't seem too valuable to her, but she would want to remain on his side. "Worse than children..." she spoke softy, only heard by those paying attention to her, or close by.
She did learn a lot about the other guests while she kept her presence low. Gaston was an enemy, even against other animals he was a liability. The powers displayed by the headless one were powerful, but whatever the relation to the duck was, would complicate things. Negaduck... he seemed a fine ally, working for whatever is offered. So long as she can count on having the best offer... Shere Khan, if he was as valuable as he said, would be calling the shots... she did not like that. Yzma, the hostess, she didn't impress, but she would be an easy ally.
Finally there was Scar. Wait. Scar?! Her eyes seemed to light up, as he grabbed her full attention, walking forward, her hips and tail swaying slowly. "Scar!" she roared. She wanted to say, to ask; But most of all she just wanted him, approaching him she examined him closely, unable to get her thoughts together, thus remaining silent except for muttering his name again.
"Zira, it is you!" Exclaimed Scar as the familiar lioness emerged from the crowd of strangers. He moved in closer so they could both take in each other's scents, as was only customary among lions.
"How good it is to see you here. You lend a touch of home to this inhospitable place. Are any others of the pride here?" Oh, what he could do in this place if he only had all his pride! Then he could dispense with lesser allies.
Reunited with Zira, Scar lost all interest in interacting with the others in the room. Let them continue with their petty squabbles and alliances. He would be king of his pride once again!
"How good it is to see you here. You lend a touch of home to this inhospitable place. Are any others of the pride here?"
Zira sniffed at Scar, savoring his familiar scent, her tail moving happily, displaying her affection even more than her smile. She pressed her head against Scar's chin, taking her time on how to answer him. Clearly he had no memory after his own unfortunate end. "Inhospitable?" she asked, "It sounds like you met some less friendly types, but clearly you handle yourself well, my king." she smiled. "I haven't met up with any lions, ours or... pridelanders." she said, clearly with Simba on the brain. "Not even my own children..." she said, longingly. She felt best not to say more. "We have each other, to rebuild our pride. If both of us are here, surely the rest will find their way, if they aren't already here." Indeed, she was far more interested in Scar than anyone else here. But, she also knew they needed numbers.
Negaduck's eyes darted over to the conversation going on in the far corner of the cavernous room. So, Scar had met a crony of his. Kind of a mangy-looking specimen, but a lion nonetheless, and so a formidable addition to the duck's stable of henchmen. He'd have to get over there and talk to the big cat as soon as he could get away from Yzma without offending her.
Not that he cared a rap for the old crone's feelings. But he was here to make allies and increase the size of his gang. He couldn't afford to dis anybody until he was sure they would be of no use to him.
"So, Yzma," he said, throwing one arm over the back of his chair in a casual way, "Do you have any particular plot in the oven?"
'My king.' How sweet it was to be called that again, to have his regal worth acknowledged after such a long drought.
"Oh, how well you know me, Zira," Scar replied with a fire in his green-eyed gaze.
We have each other, to rebuild our pride.
"About that...while in this place, I've had to forge certain alliances...merely as a matter of convenience. That duck creature over there..." He indicated Negaduck with a thrust of his chin. "We've been working together somewhat. He can be abominably disrespectful," in all the time they'd spent working together, the duck still had never given Scar his proper title, "but he does have certain uses."
Scar was careful to say all this in a low enough tone that no others in the room would hear.
She'd gained the duck's interest, Yzma noticed, at least enough to not brush her off. The once-Empress wasn't fooled, he was seeing what she could do for him, all good villains would, but...off that loose sort of alliance she could gain stuff too. He even offered a sort of knock-of-for-knock off. Thankfully Yzma could weigh anything and decide if she needed his help, and just go with her potions if she didn't want to then take on the her owing him side of it.
Though she wasn't about to not brag as he asked if she had any schemes in the work!
"Oh reinstating my Empress status so far as can be done here; gaining roller-coaster parts. They're quite useful". That was the current extent, but then she was semi-fresh here, "There is also apparently a dangerous incinerator monster roaming around, or so that Jumba fellow says, that I have to figure out what to turn into but one thing at a time".
"It's what I do, poisons and potions", she went on, "Like with the...Ex-Emperor I mentioned or I can turn people into...well...sort of what some of the rest of you are. Here I'll show you", she indicated him and Shere Khan generally.
Hmm...could she turn them human? It was just an inner question of curiosity, she wouldn't waste any potions without good need!
She felt a demonstration might be in order, and maybe it would help him and Khan feel more comfortable, but what animal was most impressive...well he was a duck so...he obviously didn't care. She picked up an Eagle one and downed that one, turning into a sleek purple form of one before using her human potion to change back. "Like that".

So, he had names. The man in the bowler hat, who tried to hide his identity when they first met, went by the name of Michael Yagoobian. And the hat, a robot, went by the name of Doris. He still didn't trust robots, especially after the auto-pilot incident and the incident where he was kidnapped. Doris was not like those bucket of bolts, considering the design. But he still wouldn't trust it. Yagoobian was too scatter-brained, based on their last encounter and the report he heard about revolving Disneyland. Which only meant that Doris was the real brains...
The duck in yellow introduced him as Negaduck, and listed his deeds. A real wildcard, it seemed. The duck clearly had an interest in being a villain, based on his desire to crush the good guys. He might be useful, or he might be a hindrance. Shere Khan already had to deal with Don Karnage, yet Negaduck is an entirely different can of worms. He'd have to be careful when making deals with the duck, for he is certain that a good majority of those deals might just be broken. And yet, having a wildcard might just be good to throw off some ire...
The two lions went off and talked about their own thing. Though he heard Zira call out the lion's name. Scar. A fitting name, considering the injury he possessed. However, Shere Khan didn't like the fact that they were keeping to themselves. The tiger narrowed his eyes, as he could only imagine what they might be doing. His hearing could only catch some bits, though the words 'duck' and 'disrespectful' did come through. Perhaps Shere Khan can play to that bit, in time...
Shere khan cleared his throat, and spoke to Zira, "Ms. Zira? It seems like you have found someone who you worked with in the past. I'd like to learn who this lion is. You said his name is, Scar, correct?"
He still wanted them to focus on the matter at hand. They can have their talk later, when there is time and when they are not among others.
Yzma did explain her plan a bit. Reinstate her status as Empress, gain more parts for her lair, and some sort of monster. The name Jumba came up. Shere Khan recalled it before. Perhaps, when he had time, he should pay this Jumba person a visit..
And apparently the woman was good at potions. In an instant, she used a potion to turn herself into a eagle. A purple eagle that retained some of her traits, yet it was still an eagle. Shere Khan raised a brow in amusement, "Very interesting, Ms. Yzma. Surely such knowledge would allow you to infiltrate buildings without worry." He complemented her just as she changed back. Very interesting indeed...

Scar had ceased to pay the slightest attention to the others in the room. Until, that is, the mention of his comrade's name caught his ear, as it couldn't help but do.
Ms. Zira? It seems like you have found someone who you worked with in the past.
Scar eyed the speaker with a mix of curiosity and suspicion. He looked like a big cat, though clearly not a lion. Yet he walked like a human, not unlike Negaduck.
I'd like to learn who this lion is. You said his name is, Scar, correct?
This struck Scar as rather lacking in courtesy.
"Yes, Scar is my name. I can answer for myself, if you don't mind." He supposed he was expected to give an account of himself, as the others had done. Well, he was never one to shy away from talking about himself.
"I am king of the Pride Lands. Zira, here, is my most trusted associate. My only wish is to return to my kingdom. And to eliminate any would-be usurpers, such as I've had to deal with on occasion."
"My qualifications should be obvious," he concluded, raising a forepaw and displaying his deadly claws.
"We've been working together somewhat. He can be abominably disrespectful,"
Zira was disappointed in the choice of ally. "A... duck?" To be fair, a giant one. He seemed to have an attitude about him, a bit of skill... but she wasn't impressed. It brought him into her notice, but that was it. She trusted Scar, and it seemed he was in a proper place beneath him. Negaduck seemed to be curious, but not too curious. Eager for a task, but not asking too many questions. She would surely tolerate him as much or, if needed, more than Scar. "He looks capable enough. I might even say smart enough." she smirked.
She overheard Yzma speaking something of being Empress... and from the sound of it, an usurper. Of course that was always double-edged. She said nothing, however. Her attention was diverted by the feline. Shere Khan again, he just may be more open without his friend around. Zira was perplexed herself at being the one addressed, and she watched Scar closely in his response. Zira kept her mouth shut when Scar said nothing, clearly it was a smarter option. She grinned with confidence to Shere Khan, "Worked with?" she chuckled, "You don't know the half of it." She looked to Scar, "I would do anything to restore him to his throne."
