Who am I? Just a conscience!
Introduce yourself
Hey, howdy, hey! The name's FloTheJungleDal, and I wished upon a star from this site. My other imaginary friends include Mowgli. Little John and I are so very eager to join the Worlds of Disney circle of life!
Character basics
Character name: Little John
Age: 34
Species: Bear
Birthplace: Nottingham, England
Movie: Robin Hood
Custom title: Largest of the Merry Men
Why'd you pick this character? I like characters that are anthropomorphic animals. Also, he has many similarities to Baloo, one of my favorite animal characters in Disney animation, though I clearly understand as to why he does.
Character appearance (try to get at least 2 or 3 sentences for each section)
Hair description: Little John has no head hair like that of a human, though he does wear wigs when he is in disguise as a gypsy or Sir Reginald, Duke of Chutney. But he does have brown fur, with a very short tuft on his head.
Facial description/mood/expressions: Little John has a big face to go with his big body. He has black eyes, a big, black nose, and a muzzle in a lighter shade of brown. He often expresses happiness, slyness, disgust, annoyance, and doubt.
Clothing style: Little John’s usual attire consists of a green tunic with a belt, a green hat with a red feather in it, and a pair of brown shoes. He wears disguises on occasion. One of the disguises is the gypsy disguise, which consists of a red, pink, and orange dress, a blonde wig, a pair of red shoes, pink bloomers with white polka dots, and a red bandana. Another disguise is the Sir Reginald disguise, which consists of a not-big-enough pink button-up shirt with a ruff and lace cuffs in a lighter shade of pink, a pair of pink and purple pants, a pair of pink shoes, a pair of gray gloves, a monocle, a red hat with a pink feather in it, and a blonde wig and fake mustache.
Body build: Little John is obese. He keeps his body build this way by eating a lot in every meal. His big, fat belly is very noticeable, most definitely when he is in disguise as Sir Reginald.
Any unique traits (optional): None.
Original character analysis (In your own words and please be thorough)
Personality:
Little John has a laid-back personality, but not too much of that. He does like to lay around and relax when he’s not taking from the rich and giving to the poor with Robin Hood, but he is caring and concerned when it comes to the poor being in danger of getting locked up in prison for not being able to pay taxes due to being taxed very harshly and when it comes to Robin Hood taking big risks to provide for the poor to the point of possibly being executed. Despite voicing his concerns about the big risks Robin Hood takes, he is a very loyal friend and sidekick of the cunning fox, and he always goes along with him in schemes to help the poor, for he really cares about the poor and worries about them. As he does his duty as Robin Hood’s fellow bandit, he has been wondering whether he and his fox friend are good guys or bad guys.
Just like Robin Hood, Little John is clever with disguises. He acts who he disguises as, and it all helps Robin Hood accomplish what the fox tries to do, such as take all the gold from Prince John’s carriage when the bear is disguised as a gypsy, and win an archery tournament when the bear is disguised as Sir Reginald, Duke of Chutney. He can also do voice impersonations to fool enemies and get a step closer to accomplish a mission.
Little John is also strong, as he has the ability to give hard punches to his enemies. He is also skilled at fighting with a quarterstaff and a bow and arrow, though not as skilled at fighting with the latter as Robin Hood is. However, he is not usually violent, and he only uses violence as a last resort. He even goes as far as threatening an enemy with a dagger, though, again, he does this as a last resort.
Little John also likes to be part of celebrations, where he enjoys singing, dancing, playing the lute, and mocking enemies.
History:
Little John lived in a small cottage in Nottingham, England with his mother until he reached adulthood, at which point his mother got very sick and remained very sick for months until her death. The two were poor, and they were taxed very harshly. Since his mother’s death, Little John struggled to take care of things in the home all by himself, and that included paying taxes. He even worked as a cook for families in need, though very little to no money was made from that.
After years of struggling to take care of everything in the home, Little John was approached by the Sheriff of Nottingham and warned by him that he would be sent to jail if he didn’t pay all his taxes the next day. As he was unable to pay any taxes at that point, he chose to leave Nottingham, and he ran away to Sherwood Forest, where he taught himself how to defend himself and survive in a place like that. While living there, he met Robin Hood, and the two started to fight each other with quarterstaffs over who should allow the other to cross a log bridge first, with the fight taking place on the log bridge itself. The fight ended when the two fell into the river, and they ended up having a laugh about the whole thing. Little John was then offered by Robin Hood to live with him as his fellow bandit, and he accepted.
Since living with Robin Hood in Sherwood Forest, Little John did a lot of the cooking and the laundry for himself and the fox, and the two went together on adventures that involve taking from the rich and giving to the poor. Little John felt good about helping those in need, but he didn’t feel right about stealing from others to do that. He had gotten used to living his life as an outlaw after living with Robin Hood in Sherwood Forest for some time, though.
The most charitable that Little John had ever been was when he stole from Prince John, as he took all the gold with Robin Hood during the fortune teller scam (including the hubcaps on the wheels of Prince John’s carriage) and helped break all the citizens of Nottingham out of jail one night. He knew that Prince John wasn’t a real king, and he wasn’t the only one who knew this. He even went as far as threatening Prince John with a dagger in order to save Robin Hood from being executed at the archery tournament and mocking the small-maned lion by singing “The Phony King Of England” during a celebration with Robin Hood and the citizens of Nottingham.
On the day after the night of the breakout for the citizens of Nottingham from jail, Little John, as well as Robin Hood, was pardoned by King Richard, Prince John’s big brother and the real king, who, by then, returned from the crusade. Also, on that day, Robin Hood and Maid Marian’s wedding took place, and Little John drove the newlywed couple in a carriage to their honeymoon, allowing Skippy to come along. After he dropped off Robin Hood, Maid Marian, and Skippy, Little John drove off somewhere to live on his own again. However, he ended up driving so far away from both Nottingham and Sherwood Forest that he was unable to find his way back, and he ended up finding himself in an unfamiliar place where there were animals who lived like humans, just like him, as well as actual humans and animals who lived like normal animals.
Ambitions:
Little John had been providing for the poor by stealing from the rich, as he kept being roped into doing so by Robin Hood. So, his ambitions are to make money in an honest and legal way and do charity work to help those who are in need.
Strengths & abilities:
Little John is very skilled at fighting with a quarterstaff and his fists. The hard punches he gives to enemies shows how strong he really is. He can also dodge himself, especially by sucking in his belly, from being chopped by axes and shot at by arrows. He even goes on missions in disguise and fools enemies with the disguises he has on and the acts he pulled off that are associated with those disguises in order to have a better chance of getting those missions accomplished.
Flaws:
Little John can sometimes be clumsy, as he can lose balance and fall back when he is doing something that involves moving very quickly. Also, despite being good with disguises, he is not so good at keeping quiet when needed to during missions, as he can accidentally perform actions that make any noise and laugh when he saw that he and Robin Hood are winning against enemies, with the latter causing the fox to shush him. The biggest flaw that Little John has, however, is that he worries too much about Robin Hood taking big risks and what would happen to the two if they get caught stealing (even though all the stealing they did was for a good cause), such as being hanged or being beheaded.
Likes:
Helping people in need, seeing enemies be defeated, mocking enemies, hanging out with Robin Hood and the other Merry Men, singing, dancing, playing the lute
Dislikes:
Harsh taxes, Robin Hood taking big risks, stealing, innocent people being wrongfully locked up in jail, unfair laws
Fears:
Death by execution, Robin Hood and the citizens of Nottingham in trouble, getting sent to jail for failing to pay taxes or stealing
Anything to add?:
None.
