Who am I? Just a conscience!
Introduce yourself
Hey, howdy, hey! The name's FloTheJungleDal, and I wished upon a star from this site. My other imaginary friends include Mowgli and Little John. Patch and I are so very eager to join the Worlds of Disney circle of life!
Character basics
Character name: Patch Radcliff
Age: 2 months
Species: Dog (Dalmatian)
Birthplace: London, England
Movie: 101 Dalmatians
Custom title: The Feisty Pup
Why'd you pick this character? He is my favorite Dalmatian pup in the 101 Dalmatians franchise. I love his feisty personality in the animated 101 Dalmatians film, though I don’t like how it’s downgraded in the animated sequel and nonexistent in 101 Dalmatians: The Series. I also love how he is a fan of a television show about a hero dog named Thunderbolt, though I don’t like how much of an annoying fanboy he is of that show. I even played as this pup in roleplays in other sites, and it would be nice if I get to play as him in roleplays here. Properly, of course.
Character appearance (try to get at least 2 or 3 sentences for each section)
Hair description: Patch has no head hair like that of a human. However, as he is a Dalmatian, he does have white fur with black spots in random places. The most noticeable spot on him is on his right eye, and that spot is how he got his name. Also, all the fur on one of his ears is black.
Facial description/mood/expressions: Patch’s face is shaped like how a Dalmatian’s face should be; it’s rounded at the top and pointed at the muzzle, with a black nose, tapered ears, and some spots. He has a solid black ear, a white ear with no spots on it, a couple of small spots far to the left and right sides on or above his neck, and a large spot over his right eye. He is very expressive, even with his plain black eyes. He often feels and expresses joy, anger, fear, toughness, feistiness, and worry.
Clothing style: As Patch is a feral dog, he doesn’t wear any clothes like a human does. What he does wear is a red dog collar with a yellow circle tag.
Body build: Patch is slender. He is the size of an average Dalmatian pup. He, along with his ninety-eight siblings, are fed a brand of dog kibble called Kanine Krunchies at each meal everyday to keep in shape and grow into a strong, handsome dog.
Any unique traits (optional): None.
Original character analysis (In your own words and please be thorough)
Personality:
Patch is an energetic and feisty pup who usually gets rough and tough when he plays with his siblings, watches his favorite television show about a hero dog named Thunderbolt, and ends up confronted by anyone trying to hurt him or his siblings. He usually shows off his feisty attitude by biting a rug or any similar object, tugging and shaking it aggressively, and using language that is found unacceptable by Perdita, his mother; this is all usually done when he and his family watch Thunderbolt on television as he fantasizes about mauling Dirty Dawson, the main villain of the show. His behavior is often so aggressive that back when he had only fourteen siblings, he was given a moment to cool down and put into bed last by Nanny every night.
He has a petty rivalry with Lucky, one of his brothers by blood. He and Lucky usually get into arguments over petty things, such as who hit the other first, who pushed the other first, who bit the other first, and whether or not Lucky is the “favorite”. Whenever Patch is told by Lucky that the latter pup is the “favorite”, he ends up getting angry and gets in a fight with him.
However, Patch is not always feisty. He can sometimes be scared, such as when he or anyone in his family is in any danger, and he can sometimes be concerned, such as when he sees Pongo, his father, get knocked out during a fight with Jasper and Horace, Cruella DeVil’s henchmen, and when he wonders what the eighty-four pups bought from pet shops will do before Pongo chooses to take them all home with the family. He can also be happy when he and his family are safe from harm, reunited after being separated for some time, or back home after being away from it for some time. He even quickly backs down when he sees or hears disapproval from Perdita of him using bad language. Also, despite his rivalry with Lucky, he is very close to him. He even goes as far as defending him when someone does anything bad to him.
History:
Patch was born on a stormy night in October, along with his fourteen siblings, and he is one of the eight oldest in the litter. When he and his siblings were born, they were all kept from being bought from the family by Cruella by Roger, one of the pups’ “pets” (owners), though they were all too little to know or remember anything that went on with Cruella, Nanny, Roger, and Anita, Roger’s wife and Cruella’s old schoolmate, or know how to feel about anything that went on with the humans.
Weeks after Patch and his siblings were born, he picked up the feisty and rough behavior and the bad habit of using unacceptable language from the television show about Thunderbolt and from Pongo, to a certain degree. The biggest thing that Patch knew of that show was that Thunderbolt pretended to be dead whenever he got knocked out by Dirty Dawson or any other enemy. While Patch watched that show with his family, he got annoyed whenever Lucky got too close to the television screen and blocked it by climbing up to it. That show aired every night between dinner and bedtime for the pups, with that bedtime being the same time Pongo and Perdita would be taken out for a walk in the park. Patch and his siblings wanted to go for a walk in the park, as well, whenever they heard their parents that they were going to do that as bedtime for the pups came, with him saying that they wanted to go because they were not “a bit sleepy”, despite him yawning and looking a bit tired when he said that.
One night, after Patch and his siblings were put to bed, Jasper and Horace broke into their home and dognapped them. Patch put up a fight during the dognapping by biting and clawing Horace, but he ended up losing within seconds when he got picked up and shoved into a bag with his siblings. He and his siblings were driven to Hell Hall, Cruella’s place in Suffolk, where they met eighty-four more Dalmatian pups, all of whom were bought and paid for from pet shops by Jasper and Horace.
While Patch and his siblings were in Hell Hall, they were watching television with Jasper, Horace, and the other eighty-four pups. At some point, Patch defended Lucky by barking angrily at Horace after the henchman forced that pup down from the television screen.
Before it was time that Jasper and Horace got ready to pop off and skin the Dalmatian pups, Patch and the other pups were met by a cat named Sgt. Tibbs, who came to rescue them. At first, the rescue went well, but it ended up failing when all the Dalmatian pups were forced back to where they started by Jasper and Horace after a chase all over Hell Hall. There was another rescue attempted, and it was done by Pongo and Perdita; that rescue ended up a success.
With Patch and his siblings reunited with their parents, he let Pongo know that there were now ninety-nine Dalmatian pups altogether. After one of the eighty-four bought pups said that Cruella was going to make coats out of all the Dalmatian pups, Patch added that Jasper and Horace were going to pop them off and skin them. He also worried about what the eighty-four bought pups would do while he and his family had to get back home to London, but he was relieved when Pongo chose to take those pups home with the family.
On the Dalmatians’ way back to London, they were all led to a dairy barn by a collie for shelter from the cold. There, Patch and all the other pups drank fresh, warm milk provided by four cows and got enough sleep so they would have enough energy to go to Dinsford the next day. When the Dalmatians got to Dinsford, they met a Labrador, who offered them a ride home on a van at an auto repair shop. Before they could get into the van, they saw that Cruella and her henchmen just reached Dinsford and were searching all over for them there. During all this, Patch ended up having soot in the fireplace blown in his face by Lucky. This got Patch to get back at Lucky by pushing him in the soot, though this got Lucky to tell Pongo and Perdita on him. In an attempt to get out of trouble with his parents, Patch lied to them that Lucky pushed him first, and the two had a petty argument over whether or not Lucky pushed Patch in the soot first. There was no time for something like this for Pongo and Perdita to deal with, though, due to the situation that all the Dalmatians were in. However, what was seen of Patch and Lucky after the fight gave Pongo the idea that the Dalmatians should roll in the soot and disguise themselves as Labradors in order to sneak past Cruella and her henchmen and get into the van. This plan went well until drips from icicles and snow fell on some of the pups, revealing who the “Labradors” really were, though Patch was not one of the pups who had this happen to him. All this was witnessed by Cruella, but Patch and all the other Dalmatians were able to get away from her and her henchmen after a vehicle chase and make it back to London safely.
Patch and all the other Dalmatians arrived home just in time for Christmas. When Roger and Anita saw the eighty-four extra Dalmatian pups brought home by Patch and his family, Patch was happy to hear Roger’s quick decision for him and Anita to keep them and move to a big place in the country to make that happen. So, on the next day, everyone in the Radcliff family’s flat wasted no time and immediately started packing so they could move to a big place in the country, which would be a farm in Devon called by Roger a “Dalmatian Plantation”.
During the preparation for the move to the “Dalmatian Plantation”, Patch was playing with Lucky in the fireplace with no fighting or arguing between the two like what happened before back in Dinsford. As the two pups played there, some soot got too close around Patch’s nose, and it caused him to let out a huge sneeze. That sneeze caused him to be blown backward to a wall in the fireplace, get hit in the back of his head with that wall, and fall unconscious. It wasn’t until a couple of hours later when he woke up, saw himself completely clean from the soot, and saw himself in a completely different place. That place, however, was not the “Dalmatian Plantation” that he and his family were to move to.
Ambitions:
Patch always wanted to join Thunderbolt, his favorite television hero, and fight off enemies, particularly Dirty Dawson, alongside him, so he made that his longtime ambition. However, after having ended up in an entirely different place and separated from his family, just like any of his family members who ended up in that place, he has a much bigger ambition. That ambition is to find and reunite with all his siblings and both his parents, avoiding anyone who is likely to do anything bad to dogs along the way.
Strengths & abilities:
Patch can use his teeth and claws to attack anyone, but as he is only a two-month-old pup, his attacks are not very effective on anyone bigger than him. Also, he knows to back down from a fight when he sees that he won’t be able to win it. He also has the ability to sneak past enemies and keep quiet to avoid getting caught.
Flaws:
Patch is not very good at basic math, as he believes that ninety-nine is fifteen times two. He also doesn’t know the difference between television and real life, thinking that Thunderbolt is a real hero and everything that happens in that dog’s show is real. When it comes to strength, he believes that he is strong enough to take on anyone bigger than him, especially human enemies, as he shows whenever he fantasizes about mauling Dirty Dawson, but he’s not that strong, and he’s not very strategic with the way he uses whatever strength he has.
Likes:
Thunderbolt and the television show about him, playing rough with his siblings, having adventures, fantasizing about mauling villains (particularly Dirty Dawson), anyone helping him and his siblings escape from real danger, getting away with doing something wrong
Dislikes:
Being separated from his family, being kidnapped, being told on by one of his siblings for doing something wrong, being scolded by Perdita for using language she doesn’t approve of, Lucky claiming himself to be the “favorite”, Dirty Dawson attacking Thunderbolt
Fears:
Being alone, being popped off and skinned (along with his siblings) for a fur coat, his family and anyone else he cares for in danger
Anything to add?:
Even though I’m using images of Patch from 101 Dalmatians II: Patch’s London Adventure, I’m disregarding that movie, just like how I disregarded The Jungle Book 2 when I applied for Mowgli, as sequels released by the now-defunct DisneyToon Studios have a tendency of butchering lots of things in the originals released by Walt Disney Animation Studios. 101 Dalmatians II: Patch’s London Adventure is no different whatsoever.
