I remember this thread being done on the old WoD site a long time ago, and I thought it'd be fun to revive it here.
So did you ever do anything Disney-related when you were little? Maybe comb your hair with a fork? Sit on beach towels and imagine them as if they were flying carpets? Play pirate games with the use of such characters as Peter, Wendy, Captain Hook and the Crocodile? Anyone's not too embarrassed about it now can totally share!
Let's see, where do I start? XD
Bambi- I don't remember why, but one time while my older sister and I were watching the scene with Bambi meeting Faline for the first time in the meadow (this was when we were both little, of course; I believe I was 6, she was 8. ), she began to giggle exactly like Faline and be playful with me, sneaking up behind me to poke my cheek and pretend to act innocent with me (instead of licking my cheek like Faline does). lol
Also, I don't remember this ever happening to me, but my aunt once told this story of me being six years old and going around the house wondering where my mother was and calling out, "Mother, where are you?" (just like when Bambi runs through the snowy forest looking for his mother after she gets shot), yet my mother was there to tell me over and over, "I'm right here." XDD
Peter Pan- It's mentioned in one of my old scrapbooks that when I went to see the movie (which was re-released in theatres back in 1989), I sang along to the lyrics "When there's a smile in your heart, there's no better time to start" because I remembered singing along to the words in a Disney sing-along video before I saw the movie itself, and there were kids in front of me turning around to shush me. How embarassing it must have been. XD
The Sword in the Stone- My sister named two of our three cats after Merlin and Arthur, since it was her favorite movie around the time she was 5 (the third cat we had was originally going to be Archimedes, but my parents didn't like it, so she chose to go with Sebastian from "The Little Mermaid" instead ).
The Little Mermaid- As explained in my last paragraph, my sister named one of our cats after Sebastian, since TLM was at the time her new favorite movie.
I also remember my sister asking me once to do the part of Ursula for the scene in which Ariel's voice gets taken away and put in Ursula's seashell. I would only have to say "Now, sing!" and "Keep singing!" on cue while my sister was vocalizing her heart out. XD
Aladdin- I remember when my sister and I used to watch it on VHS, we'd often mimic what happens on the screen. One time we watched it, whenever a carpet was used for riding on (for example, at the end of "One Jump Ahead" and in "A Whole New World"), we'd get on our blankets to mimic those scenes. lol
I also remember dancing to the song "A Whole New World" for a dance recital as one of three princes (with me in the middle ^^).
The Lion King- A few times when I was in third grade (which was around the time TLK was released in theatres), I usually got nervous on test days, and my mother always reminded me of the phrase "Hakuna Matata," which is still true today.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame-When my mother, sister and I went to see it in theatres, a french bread fighting contest was held to promote the movie. My sister and I fought each other with the bread (like swords), and she beat me. XP She recieved a HBND movie poster as her prize. There were also a few actors there playing such roles as Quasimodo and a couple street vendors, which I vaguely remember.
Winnie the Pooh- I remember the one time in my middle to late teenage years (somewhere around there XD), my family and I were out eating at a fast-food restaurant, and a little boy came up to me and asked, "Are you Christopher Robin?" LOL! It was so cute the way he asked that question toward me.
