Now before the reader paint her as a hero, it should be stated that the gray cat reclining in a nearby tree had watched Jumba's struggle for quite a bit, at-least since he had landed on the table and worked his way to the ground.
Thinking her eyes were deceiving her, Pepita gave a sniff of the air and...no that was the usual smell of that...larger...person (even she didn't know what he was, just that he wasn't human or skeleton) who, if not a friend of the Riveras wasn't an enemy.
Héctor had made friends enough to invite him to Rosa's coming of age. Still, Pepita was under no obligation concerning him.
Had any of the Riveras found themselves in this predicament, Pepita would have instantly hopped down and gone over to lend her services if for nothing else to carry them much as she would have done in her Alebrije form, only minus the useful power of flight sadly.
She wouldn't menace Jumba, but she also just watched the scientist, even as another cat approached. Far be it from her to interfere in another feline's exploration...even if it seemed on the hunting side from the signs another cat would pick up on.
Wait why was the tiny scientist now running? That was the worst thing to do...
Of course her fellow feline took chase, Pepita didn't blame him one bit.
Still...would Héctor mind if his friend was eaten...
Pepita felt he might, also she was decent and he wasn't the kind of creature meant to be eaten. She should stop her fellow feline from making a mistake of food chain and natural course of things.
Not that the stretch she did along her branch showed any haste, but then...she saw the speed both rushed off at, Jumba wasn't in immediate danger just yet as the other cat was doing the classic enjoying the chase part. She hopped down and took chase herself at the medium pace she knew would suit the situation and be alright to get her there in time to save Jumba.
