"Yikes!" What looked like headhunters (he'd had a few experiences with them running alongside Mr. McD) jumped onto the boat, a fight soon breaking out. Launchpad generally didn't like to fight if he could help it, but it seemed he wouldn't have much of a choice, as two of them were bearing down on him, spears brandished. One even seemed to lick his lips.

"If you're thinkin' of eating me, I don't think I'd be very appetizing," said Launchpad, trying to make it sound humorous. But the men kept coming. He looked behind him, seeing a rail and getting an idea. At the last second, he sidestepped their spears, causing them to get tangled in said rail. With better than usual speed, he moved behind them and CLANKED their heads together, causing them to pass out on the deck.

Launchpad dusted himself off. "Ah, this really IS just like old times with Mr. McD!"

[Elsa]

Tarzan picked up a handful of snow, simply stating what it was. Elsa smiled at his child-like wonder. Edna thanked Elsa for the rescue, and Elsa simply bowed her head in response as Mateo explained what the Duende were.

”I’ve never heard of them. We have some trolls near Arendelle. They have some magic ability, and they resemble boulders.”

Silver rejoined the group, mentioning somewhere called Rygel Seven. Mateo beat her to asking Silver about it. Idly, Elsa wondered if there were six other Rygels.

Captain Swann warned the passengers not to touch anything. While Elsa hadn’t been tempted, she could understand why the captain would give such a warning, especially upon the arrival of several large snakes. Basil explained what they were, and Elsa prepared her magic, to blast the serpents if they looked about to strike. Thankfully, it was an unnecessary precaution.

Elsa considered the wisdom of Silver’s words. If something looks too good to be true, it probably is. ”Words of wisdom, Master Silver,” she told him, lightly bowing her head again.

Launchpad rambled for a moment, mentioning a ‘Mr. McD’ and Elsa wondered if it was Scrooge McDuck that Launchpad was referring to, and if so, if it was the same Scrooge McDuck she had met some time before.

Next Launchpad mentioned relaxing, and Elsa nearly laughed. Relaxation had been her entire reason for stepping aboard the boat, and she hadn’t gotten any.

Several things happened quickly. Launchpad, Tarzan, Mateo, and Silver were all attacked at once. Elsa was vaguely aware that Basil was defending himself as well. Elsa felt more than saw a spear coming her way and she threw up her hands in defense, raising a barrier of ice. However, she had been a second doo slow, and the spear grazed her arm.

With a loud gasp, Elsa covered the scratch with her opposite hand. She couldn’t feel her arm anymore.

That couldn’t be good.

Elsa aimed her good hand at the man who had thrown the spear, freezing him in a large block of ice. Her knowledge of healing things was very limited, and she wasn’t sure what to do. Blood flowed freely down her arm, and she was starting to feel a little lightheaded. After a moment of dazed thought, Elsa carefully covered the wound with a layer of ice. She still couldn’t feel her arm, but at least the blood had stopped. She sank back into her seat, hoping that another attack wasn’t coming.

Elizabeth was barely paying attention to the passengers. They had passed through the temple without incident, and Elizabeth was feeling anxious. The vegetation ahead would be a perfect spot for an ambush...

But she couldn’t call out a warning in time. She was glad to see Mateo, Silver, and Tarzan take care of their attackers with ease. Even that mouse proved capable, stunning one of the ambushers.

With a quick glance ahead to ensure the boat wasn’t about to be grounded, Elizabeth turned back just in time to draw her sword and deflect the spear aimed at her. It took but a moment to throw her attacker overboard. A few years of practice from Will, and the battle against the EITC, had taught Elizabeth both the basics of swordfighting, and the dirtier aspects of combat. Most of her passengers seemed to be handling themselves. Mateo was watching Tarzan, presumably trying to figure out how he could help. ”Mateo, guard the queen!” Elizabeth shouted. It was a request, not an order, but she had a feeling Mateo would do as she'd asked. She hadn’t failed to notice the pool of blood at the queen’s feet, and Tarzan looked like he could handle himself. Besides, Silver could help the ape-man if necessary.

[Mateo de Alva]

A conversation with Queen Elsa over the varying types of trolls both her world and Avalor had would not have been an unwelcome relaxation, and even fact gathering, or any number of other conversations with the others, but, again, relaxation did not seem very likely on this cruise everyone seemed to be taking it for the express purpose to getting.

They hadn't touched any treasure, the fact was in the back of Mateo's mind and focus, so...the attack was in a way unprovoked. Or in the first few guesses the young wizard would have given, but, as he was quickly leaning, varying cultures had varying rules, and these seemed fellow humans, not magical elves of some kind, so...who knew what they had taken offense to.
Magical beings were sometimes easier dealt with...

”Mateo, guard the queen!”

In his scanning about the chaos for what next, Mateo took in these words given by Captain Elizabeth. More suggestion than an order, but eitherway Mateo chastised himself as he noticed just why the Captian would have signaled out the queen. And as if he should have to told to guard the royalty of a company, it was common knowledge and for one who had just showed he knew court manners.

Still the young wizard didn't waste further time with even this self chastisement and quickly made over, especially as he could tell the queen was bleeding from a hit no doubt, though she took very good care of her attacker despite. "Queen Elsa, I'm sorry...I should have...", Mateo broke off and scanned for other foes even as he wracked his brain for healing spells known of. If he could consult his own notebook, which was just a scribbling down of every spell that came to his mind as he stayed here and a sort of replacement for his grandfather's own. It would probably soon be close if not as good, since his own books had been where Mateo had learned all he knew of magic.

Mateo had the book with him, as he now carried it everywhere in his bag along with his tamborita, he would just need to make consult it when things settled and calmed down.

[Tarzan]

As Tarzan grappled with his foe spear to spear, the weapons couldn't stand the strain. Tarzan's snapped in two with a crack as loud as a rifle shot. The ape-man cast the useless pieces aside, seizing instead the spear that was pressing against his chest. The Man was well-muscled and strong, but Tarzan's body was honed to perfection from years of living in the jungle. With a grunt of exertion, he twisted it free, but before he could do more, his antagonist, unwilling to face Tarzan unarmed, dove instead for the water and swam for the shore.

Turning round, the jungle lord noted that his companions had done as well. They were mightier combatants than they appeared. Even Pamba, for all his small size, had somehow beaten his enemy. Tarzan heaved that unconscious Man into the river, where he immediately regained his sense and swam away.

This called for a celebration of sorts. Throwing back his shaggy locks, Tarzan gave full vent to his personal victory cry: "Aahh-AAAAAAA-AAAHHHH-aaaaaaa-aaahh!"

It seemed all their enemies had been defeated, and the ones still left on the shore backed away, clearly frightened. This was aided by Tarzan giving a spectacular cry of victory. "Powerful set of lungs you got there, Mr. Tarzan!"

It seemed Elsa had been hurt in the struggle. Silver went over to her, seeing that she'd covered the wound with a small patch of ice. "You'll need to get that wrapped up, miss," he noted. "Won't heal right if ya don't."

He kept an eye out for any further dangers, but the boat continued drifting to see some more of those elephant creatures bathing themselves. He breathed a sigh of relief, though he still felt cautious. Hopefully this ride was almost at an end.

Elizabeth’s request for Mateo to guard the queen was a little late, it seemed. Their attackers had all been fought off. Elizabeth returned her attention to the boat, and just in time. Much longer, and they would’ve hit a bank. The river moved slowly enough that the boat drifted forward, but the river was turning, and the boat was slow to turn with it. Elizabeth quickly adjusted the wheel, steering the boat back on the right track. The river curved gently, the boat following the path under Elizabeth’s steady hand.

Something changed in the air. Elizabeth couldn’t have said what it was, but she could tell something was different. It was then that she spotted a familiar dock ahead. ”I think we’re back,” she said, loud enough for all of the passengers to hear. That fellow who had fainted still hadn’t woken up, but Elizabeth knew she could guide the boat to the dock without incident.

She pulled the boat up to the dock, pulling up one of the levers by the wheel. It was out of place with the others, so she assumed it was the braking lever. She was right, and the boat coasted up to the dock, falling just a little short.

[Elsa]

Elsa’s head swam as she sank into her seat. She barely heard Captain Swann’s shout to Mateo over the ringing in her ears. Mateo came over to her, apologizing. Elsa waved the apology away with her good hand. Her right arm was still tingly, and she still couldn’t quite feel it. Tarzan let out some kind of battle cry, and Elsa barely refrained from a startled flinch.

Silver approached her next, telling her she should get it wrapped. She nodded wearily. ”I’ll find a first-aid station when we get back...” she murmured. She closed her eyes, leaning her head back in an effort to get more comfortable. She really didn’t know any of the other passengers very well, but she knew she could trust them to defend her in the event of another attack. They had a bond, now, having been through this ordeal as a group.

Elsa heard the captain say something about being back, and Elsa picked her head up. Carefully, she got to her feet. Her entire right side was feeling a little numb now, but she managed to climb to her feet. The captain had stopped the boat, but not quite at the dock. Elsa waved a hand, forming a rather lopsided pathway from the boat to the dock. With another flourish, she reformed the path, with a little more stability. Elsa sat down again, content to wait until the others were off the boat. It was also a chance to regain a little strength.

[Walt Disney]

"There it is, folks! The back side of water!" Corey sat up with a start, speaking before he was fully awake. As he blinked and looked around him, his befuddled brain tried to answer its own question: what happened?

No answer seemed to be coming. But there were the passengers. There was the dock. Weeks of rigorous training took over.

"Please remain seated until the boat comes to a complete stop. Or until it sinks, whichever comes first. Those trained monkeys on the dock will help you exit. If you enjoyed your cruise, remember, my name is Corey; if you didn't, my name is Steve. Thank you. Bye, now. Buh-bye. Thank you. Come back soon. Bye." White-faced and disheveled, he put on a smile until he could ask the cast member on the dock, "Can I take my break now?"

[Basil]

Basil gazed with satisfaction at the native chap he'd bested. The bigger they are, and all that. The mouse felt as if he could go to the aid of any of his fellow passengers who might require a bit of assistance, but everything seemed to be under control at the moment. Save for...

"Egad! Your Majesty is wounded!" True, she'd made herself a sort of iced bandage, but that was no substitute for actual medical attention. And suppose the spear had been poisoned? Basil took the time to make a brief examination of the weapons left in the boat, but none seemed to be venom-tipped.

Suddenly, the air was split by a blood-curdling scream. It was Tarzan, behaving in the most extraordinary manner. Quite unnerving, but perhaps it had the same effect on any more natives who might be lurking nearby.

I think we’re back

A simple statement, but undeniably true. There were the familiar park employees, the tourists, the dust bins...they were back in the relative safety of the park.

Basil cast a glaring eye at their so-called guide. A fine time for him to come to life.

The action seemed to die down as the others defeated their opponents, though Elsa took a hit in the arm. Launchpad waddled over to her. "You okay?" he asked. He saw the ice patch on her arm, but that wasn't necessarily an indicator of how well she was after that hit. Their skipper sprang back to life and the ride seemed to become, well, a ride again, coming to the dock where others were waiting to get on now.

"Well, if you're okay, I'm gonna head back to my garage." He gave a wave to everyone on the boat. "Nice to meet all of ya!" He strode off onto a pathway Elsa had made to the dock, humming to himself again. That had certainly been like old times with Mr. McD and DW, yes sir....

Silver nodded, then sat next to Elsa as others began exiting the boat. "I suppose now that we've got some time, I could bring up a little subject that I've been meanin' to speak with ya about." He sighed, preparing what to say. "I don't suppose you've heard of a figure 'round these parts named Negaduck? I was involved in a little bit o'dirty business with him recently. I'm what you'd call an ex-pirate, miss. Though I'm tryin' to walk on the straight and narrow these days thanks to a lad I met back in my world." He chuckled, remembering Jim. He hoped the boy was alright.

Silver's expression grew more serious. "My point bein', I'm hearing tell that dark forces are gathering around here. They've got an eye on what you've got. I'm not exactly on Negaduck's good side, but I could potentially serve as someone useful to ya. But I need your protection first. I'm an old soul. I can still fight, but I can't take all these people on my own." He finished, waiting to hear what she would say.

[Mateo de Alva]

Just as things were settling down, and their opponents seemed defeated, Mateo was given another slight shock, but not from foe, he soon realized, thankfully. Tarzan just had...the most startling of victory cries...

Mateo did jump...a bit, while Silver just easily commented on the man's lung capacity. More used to these sorts of things, no doubt, as he'd said. Mateo...was used to Magic sorts of things, as he'd said, and less...the primitive call brand.

Or maybe it was everything with ensuring Queen Elsa was alright. She waved off his apology, politely and gracious, but Mateo couldn't help keeping an eye out further, both for other surprises as well as on her. They seemed actually in the clear, though, as Captain Swann turned the boat about and...it was like the air itself changed...went more normal...

Then, just like that, they docked. Queen Elsa settled back, saying all she needed was this place's medicine shop of sorts Mateo had also seen before. It did seem best, especially as, now in the still and calm, as the young Wizard went over to his bag and took out his own notebook of jotted spells, recalled for his own slim experiences and his grandfather's own jottings, he didn't see anything immedietly useful.

But then he'd know that already sort of, if it had been there, he would have recalled it himself.

Queen Elsa still made an ice bridge to aid them in exiting the boat, Mateo noted, like any true leader would. He smiled a bit and closing his book stood. He'd have said he found nothing, but Queen Elsa was in the midst of a talk with Silver.

Also...Mateo didn't try to ease drop on the two due to this loitering, but he couldn't help catching snippets of some Negaduck. The youth frowned a bit concerned to himself also. Was this Negaduck magic...he pondered asking but didn't know about interrupting.

Then he decided maybe it was worth the chance. "Um...sorry, I know that wasn't for me to hear exactly, Mister Silver" he stepped closer, still holding his notebook, "And I'll leave you and Queen Elsa to it if the answers no, and it's not like I'm saying I could be any help...that'd be prideful, just...this...person you mentioned, he's not...magic is he?". Mateo grimaced, "It's just, as you no doubt would know anyway, that would be a whole other ball game of trouble if he was".

But again, it was the adult's talk and all.

[Elsa]

Corey suddenly sat up and started babbling, something about some fellow named Steve. Elsa felt a faint relief that Corey was unharmed. Basil noticed her injury, and Elsa nodded in what she hoped was a dismissing manner. Not dismissing of Basil, but dismissing the injury itself. Elsa couldn’t quite think straight.

Launchpad approached her next, and Elsa nodded again. He seemed content with her answer, and he left.

Silver sat next to her. Elsa just wanted everyone to leave, so she could stumble her way to the nearest first aid station. Probably with the help of a snow-horse. She tried to focus on Silver’s words, sensing they were somehow important, but what he was saying wasn’t quite making sense. Elsa blinked a few times, trying to clear her head. ”Mister Silver...” Elsa started.

Mateo interrupted her quiet words, unintentionally, she was sure. But she was grateful for it, as she was still trying to string her thoughts together.

Elsa seemed to be about to say something, but Mateo interrupted her, offering his own help. Silver chuckled, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Lad, I appreciate the offer, but I think for now, it's best if I just go it alone. We may need ya in the future should they get their hands on more magics, eh?"

He noticed now that Elsa was still breathing heavily from her injuries. "Ah, I'm puttin' too much pressure on ya given your current state o' being, your majesty. Just give what I said a bit o' thought. I'll be around these parts for sure. Bit hard to miss me!" He chuckled again, tipping his hat and turning around.

Hopefully she could give him an answer soon. One that would be beneficial for both of them.

Silver answered that he would 'go it alone' in terms of...again, whatever exactly it was that this problem...was. That made sense though, Mateo just nodded, not the least bit offended, it had just been an offer, nothing more, nothing less; and Silver essentially said he'd keep him in mind. "Right", the young wizard replied and then just watched and waved slightly as Silver made his way off. Mentioning again that Elsa should get to the first-aid hut. Mateo felt bad if he held up proceedings as well, in that regard.

"I...don't mean to hover...but...do you need help down to the Medics, Queen Elsa?". Maybe not, given the injury seemed simple, but still Mateo had to offer in just typical altruism, such as aided him in being in service to Avalor, and genuine checking up as it were.

[Elsa]

Elsa nodded at Silver, blearily waving him away. She dimly recognized that he was asking for her help, in return for help from him. But for the most part, his words went in one ear and out the other, and it was a feeling Elsa hated. Silver left, though, before Elsa could fully make sense of his words. And Mateo...

Mateo kindly offered to help her to the medic. Elsa started to decline, her propriety determining that she needed to do this on her own. But as Elsa went to stand up, her head was still very foggy. Her declination turned into acquiescence as the world seemed to spin beneath her feet. "Please?" Elsa murmured to him. She was glad no one was around to see her moment of weakness. As it was, she was extending a lot of trust to Mateo for this.
