Helen Parr blinked in surprise upon finding the place spotless in comparison to what she was expecting! Huh. Maybe those footprints were really recent after all. She raised a thin eyebrow upon witnessing a chase scene between two people, one wearing plain clothes, and another angry looking man in a long cape swinging a sword. The superheroine took a step forward with an expression of determination, compelled to settle this, when suddenly everything faded away as soon as they entered through the east doors.
The ranger dressed in blue glanced about with widened brown eyes upon seeing the cobwebs at the double doors to the west where the gentlemen came from, which was impossible because it didn't look like that at all only a few seconds ago! Even the other doors seemed to have been used in comparison to those doors. The beautiful tapestries were ruined and the elegant stairwell had missing steps and looked like it hadn't been used at all! What was happening here?! There was no way that this actually happened! She must be losing it right now. "Easy, Helen..easy..no need to overreact..It's all in your head..none of this is-" Helen murmured to herself to calm herself down the way she usually tried to keep herself cool during even the dangerous missions, however she paused when it seemed that the others saw all that too!
"...What just happened?"
"You saw that too?!" Helen glanced between Elsa and Harzinon with an expression of shock. She didn't believe in ghosts, or at least she wasn't used to seeing ghosts, but she was used to dealing with mind control by both a super named Psychwave and by a villain. They were both capable of creating false realities or controlling thoughts, which is what this was starting to feel like for her; the only problem was, she couldn't tell if it was made by powers or not. She gazed over at Mateo as he was about to explain something when her eyes widened upon noticing Basil suddenly running for the door.
"Don't let them out of our sight!"
As Mateo ran over to help stop it, Helen's eyebrows rose upon noticing the suspicious red light coming from the underneath the door they were heading towards. Helen glanced over at Elsa and Harzinon worriedly before running over. "Wait! Hang on! Maybe that's just what they want us to do-!" To take the bait, she wanted to say, but she faltered as soon as they opened the door. Instinctively, the auburn haired mother raised an arm in front of Mateo to prevent him from moving forward. "Wait a second, Mateo.." Helen craned her neck to inspect for any kind of trap lying around before they would head inside that place. "Alright.." Helen sighed in relief and lowered her arm with a small apologetic smile. "Sorry about that.. but we can't take any chances with this place.." It wasn't so much of a motherly thing as just protecting anyone she could from jumping into danger. She then decided to slowly tread forward in front, her vigilant aviator eyes gazing around carefully for any sign of danger, especially when she saw that peculiar glow. Having been in battle many times during the glory days, the superheroine would rather take a hit than the rest of her team.
