"That's...um...quite something"
Helen blinked at her reaction and smiled a little awkwardly, "Uhm.. Yeah.." A sigh escaped her lips, and the military mother set the cup down on the table before turning over to face Imelda. Helen was all about facing her conflicts head-on, so now was just about as good a time as any to just deal with the consequences and get them over with; rip the bandaid off, so to speak. "So, um.. ya know when I said that talk about special abilities? This is kinda what I was referrin' to.." The mother of three ventured with a small smile, wondering if Imelda recalled her mention about her family and having special abilities that were frowned upon in public. "Look, I know this might come off as a bit.. alarming..but after hearing what you've gone through, I guess ya might say that I trust you on this.." That was the truth of the matter. First off, Imelda being a walking, talking skeleton in this world was magic enough by itself. Second of all, after hearing Imelda's talk about her great great grandson spending time in the land of the dead, that supernatural power had to be enough for Imelda to be used to powers in some way. That was the only way that Helen was comfortable enough to prevent that cup from shattering, otherwise, she would have reluctantly let that cup drop for the sake of protecting her family secret, but she truly trusted Imelda on this after hearing her story. However, Helen knew that she could always be wrong..she had been wrong before many times in her assumptions of people.
"But if it's too much for you, I'd completely understand, ya know?.. I-I just.." The auburn haired mother tried to explain that she fully understood if her friend did not want to continue associating with her, but she faltered in her fear of exposing her family like this if it were the case. She placed two fingers on her forehead with a disappointed frown, disappointed in herself. Now she really couldn't say anything to Bob exposing the family after this point. She softly exhaled another sigh out of hesitation before continuing, "I really hope, I mean, for the sake of my family, that you don't go off tellin' people about these powers out in public.." After concluding with that, she hoped that Imelda, after all their talk about family, would understand how crucial it was not to expose her family in public for her family's sake. Her brown orbs gazed on Imelda's skeletal features, trying to determine if this was going to end well or if it was going to end badly. Anything could happen at this point. It wasn't like they had Agent Rick Dicker around to erase memories here.
