Who am I? Just a conscience!
Introduce yourself
Hey, howdy, hey! The name's Neo, and I wished upon a star from here. My other imaginary friends include Jake. Shere Khan and I are so very eager to join the Worlds of Disney circle of life!
Character basics
Character name: Shere Khan
Age: 53
Species: Bengal Tiger
Birthplace: Cape Suzette, Usland
Movie: Tailspin
Custom title: Khan Industries CEO
Why'd you pick this character? When it comes down to it, I tend to lean more towards good aligned characters. However, despite Shere Khan being known for being a villian in the Jungle Book, in Tailspin, he leans more towards being neutral. As such, I wanted to try my hand with such a character who has that power behind them, all while being savvy enough to interact with both heroes and villains all while using both sides for his own personal goals.
Character appearance (try to get at least 2 or 3 sentences for each section)
Hair description: Being a bengal tiger, Shere Khan sports fur instead of hair. He usually keeps his head fur smooth without any imperfections. A businessman has to look the part, after all.
Facial description/mood/expressions: Shere Khan sports a tiger snout with a brown/pink nose. His eyes are yellow in color, to go with his predatory appearance. The fur on his cheeks are grown out a little bit, to give him an older appearance.
Expresion wise, Shere Khan always has a calm, serious look to him. Whether he is smiling or frowning, Khan will always look collective while doing so. This adds to his intimidating appearance, as he never once breaks his serious mood, and he never once raises his voice
Clothing style: When he was at his corporate headquarters, Shere Khan was always seen wearing a navy blue suit, with a white business shirt underneath it and a red tie. However, despite rumors, Shere Khan does in fact have more than one set of clothing, depending on the occasion.
Body build: When one looks at Shere Khan, one would notice his tall form, being around the same size as Balo. Weight wise, he seems average, though he does possess a built body. After all, in order to maintain that imposing look, Shere Khan had to develop the strength to go with it.
Any unique traits (optional): One of the traits that Shere Khan often uses to intimidate others, is his claws. They are sharp enough to rend through flesh, and, combined with his own strength, are a force to be reckoned with. It’s this reason why many don’t want to get on his bad side.
Original character analysis (In your own words and please be thorough)
Personality:
Ruthless, as he is friendly. Shere Khan is a mixed bag. He possesses the desire for money and power that most villains tend to go for, with the cunning to back it up. However, while it might be easy to classify him as a villain, Shere Khan possesses far more noble traits that balance out his vicious nature.
For Shere Khan, everything is an asset, and nothing is out of reach. If Shere Khan has to go through illegal means to get what he wants, he will do it, and will often do so without any evidence. However, he cares about holding onto his power, and if the risks outweigh the benefits, he often wouldn’t pursue that path to power.
Shere Khan also has a strict code: "Always repay your debts, and never go back on a deal." Shere Khan will always follow through with what he says that he will do, and if he owes someone, he will always repay it.
He isn’t afraid to work with good guys, such as Balo and his crew, in order to cement his trust, and he isn’t afraid to work with bad guys, such as Don Karnage, in order to avoid barriers that are in his way. One second, he might be willing to hire a hero in order to protect his property, and the next, he might hire the bad guy the hero is against in order to claim more for himself.
It is to these reasons why Shere Khan is complicated. His methods are an enigma to those who try to understand them, and it is often best to keep on his good side, no matter who you are.
History:
Born and raised in Cape Suzette, Shere Khan started off with nothing. His family was poor, and he himself lived in a small room in an old apartment building with nothing but the clothing on his back. It was a harsh childhood, with him having to work in a factory that built planes in order to help the family live. But no matter how hard he worked, he couldn’t get the money needed in order to keep his family healthy and safe.
When he was forced out of the apartment due to the family being unable to pay the rent, and with his parents gone due to illness, Shere Khan had to take matters into his own hands. For a time, he worked at that factory. But he quickly learned about the inner workings of the corporate world, and while his co-workers were content with doing one single task, Shere Khan sought to show just how good of a worker he was. With resolve, he worked on one task after another, and in time, the weak tiger developed and grew.
It wasn’t long until he figured out the reason why corporations were successful. As he worked, he saw just how cruel his boss was: paying lower wages, always cutting corners, and constantly treating the workers like trash. Shere Khan dealt with this treatment for a while, until one day, an opportunity rose. The CEO of the industry that owned the factory was coming in to check on how well the site was doing, which worried the factory’s manager greatly. Shere Khan knew that the manager wanted to show that nothing was wrong with the factory, and that everyone was happy with their job. All Shere Khan had to do, was tear down that illusion.
And tear it down, he did.
When the inspection came, Shere Khan developed a stern, intimidating personality. The manager wanted him to play nice, though Shere Khan stood against him, pointing out the flaws that the manager hastily tried to cover up. This new attitude shocked the manager, as he didn’t expect any of the workers to stand up against him. And by the time he was able to re-collect himself and strike back against the tiger, he unfortunately caught the eye of the CEO who just arrived.
As a result, the old manager was fired, and was replaced by Shere Khan. This marked the tiger’s rise in the corporate world. Time and again, Shere Khan displayed the desire to grow in power and wealth. He treated his workers with equality, yet wasn’t afraid of showing his cruelty when someone steps out of line. He saw holes within the system, and exploited them when he knew he could get through them without problems. And in time, Shere Khan became the next CEO, when the previous one stepped down.
When the Great War came, many corporations turned to the development of weapons and vehicles to aid in the effort, and Shere Khan’s was one of them. The aviation industry was once new, but during the war, it quickly grew, and Shere Khan saw its importance. With flight came the ability to transport people, both military and civilian, to and from places. And, it could easily be used to transport supplies as well. And so, when the war started to wear down some industries, Shere Khan was quick to scoop them up so his own company can thrive at that time.
When the government opened up a mail contract to pilots and business owners, Shere Khan moved in to convince the government to use his company to deliver the mail. It was just after he was able to gain ownership of a few airplane services, which would form the base for his extensive air fleet. However, the deal fell through when a young pilot convinced the government that he can easily deliver the mail. Shere Khan, was not happy about these events, and developed a rivalry with said pilot.
This rivalry ended years later after the Great War, with Shere Khan as the victor.
When the war ended, Shere Khan’s company, now known as Khan Industries, continued to grow. He opened up trade agreements with distant nations, and at the same time, he cemented his own influence within Usland. By present time, Khan Industries was the top corporation in the world, and Shere Khan continued to use it as a means to increase his own power and wealth. But that power meant his corporation was a target by air pirates, and eventually, Shere Khan turned to independent pilot in order to protect his supply lines.
However, things changed. The sky pirate leader, Don Karnage, went missing, as well as the Iron Vulture that served as his flagship. Pirate raids became less frequent. And although the company had breathing room, Shere Khan knew that it would be only a matter of time until the sky pirate returned. Development had to continue, and the threat of immediate attack had to be on the top of everyone’s minds. After all, you had to be prepared for anything. And in the corporate world, survival is a high priority…
Ambitions:
- To acquire greater power and wealth
- To maintain his company’s status in the world
- To be a firm leader that anyone can trust
- While in Disney World: To re-establish his power in the corporate world via the Disney Corporation.
Strengths & abilities:
- Maintains a strong, intimidating composure, no matter the situation
- Can remain calm even when everyone else is panicking
- Knows how to run a corporation and how to manage the people within it
- Doesn’t care about who he sides with, allowing him to make any alliances if it benefits him
- Knows how to handle himself in hand to hand combat due to living on the streets when younger
- Has sharp claws to aid him in combat, and to intimidate others with ease
- He has a green thumb, due to keeping hundreds of plants within his office.
- He always will repay his debt, and he never backs down from a deal.
Flaws:
- Despite being the leading force in the aviation industry, he himself doesn’t know how to pilot a plane. It’s this reason why he needs someone else to do the job.
- While he always repay his debts, quite often, someone would take advantage of it. Despite this, he still will keep to his own rule, no matter how much damage it might cause. That doesn’t mean the person will get away with it…
- He often expects things to go his way. This leads to some problems when one of his assets does something that messes the entire plan up…
Likes:
- Money and power
- Botany
- Aviation and the benefits that come from it
- Owning and maintaining his own company
- Constantly finding new ways to obtain what he wants.
Dislikes:
- People who lie to him or goes back on a deal that was made
- Anyone who threatens his industry
- Robots (They are unreliable compared to a skilled pilot)
- Anyone who takes advantages of his generosity
- Sky pirates, although he sometimes can consider them as an asset
Fears:
Despite his composure, Shere Khan has a fear of losing everything due to something he does, or something his own employees does. As a result, he tends to create backup plans when his own plan fails, and he is quick to deal with corrupt employees with tranquil fury.
Anything to add?:
Shere Khan will be my attempt at a growing, dynamic character. Going by his personality, his main pursuit would be to obtain power and wealth while within Walt Disney World. For that means, I intend to play him as someone who wants to work for the Disney corporation, rise through its ranks, gain influence over those who reside within the land, and to eventually become it's leader. It will be a challenge for me, playing as such, but I think I will be able to play him well.
