Who am I? Just a conscience!
Introduce yourself
Hey, howdy, hey! The name's Luna, and I wished upon a star from Already a member. My other imaginary friends include The Headless Horseman. Shan Yu and I are so very eager to join the Worlds of Disney circle of life!
Character basics
Character name: Shan Yu
Age: Late 30's to early 40's
Species: Human
Birthplace: Mongolia
Movie: Mulan
Custom title: Scourge of China
Why'd you pick this character? Shan Yu is one of my favourite villains, even though he used to scare me as a kid. His falcon is cool too.
Character appearance (try to get at least 2 or 3 sentences for each section)
Hair description: Shan Yu has straight, black hair that reaches just past his collarbone in length. While the back and sides of his head have hair, he is completely bald on the top.
Facial description/mood/expressions: Shan Yu has sharp, angular features and ashy, grey skin. He has wolfish, yellow eyes with black scleras and a thin, horseshoe-style mustache. Shan Yu is rather stoic, so his expressions are limited to a cold glare, smirking in triumph or sadistic glee and snarling in anger.
Clothing style: Shan Yu wears clothing befitting a barbarian warlord. His attire consists of a tunic made from animal pelts with a fur-lined hood. He also has a pelt sash and a scabbard on his back for his flamberge sword.
Body build: Shan Yu is a man of massive proportions. He stands at an imposing 6'6" and has a very muscular build.
Any unique traits (optional): In addition to his greyish skin and wolfish eyes, Shan Yu also has pronounced canine teeth on both top and bottom jaws. His fingernails are long and claw-like.
Original character analysis (In your own words and please be thorough)
Personality: Shan Yu is a man of few words, but he more than makes up for that with ruthlessness and cunning. He is always ready to prove his strength, even if it means killing an enemy in cold blood. Shan Yu derives sadistic pleasure from the suffering of others and has a dark and twisted sense of humour. He is also estremely confident in himself and his allies. He will often allow his foes to gain the advantage just to prove the might of both himself and his allies. Unlike the enemies he faced, Shan Yu does not underestimate a female enemy as Hun culture encourages women to fight alongside men.
History:
Before he became the most feared man in China, Shan Yu was raised to become a warrior just like the rest of his tribe. Naturally, this involved harsh training and accompanying other tribe members on raids. As he became more proficient in the art of combat, Shan Yu began to grow stronger. This resulted in him becoming more muscular and garnering the attention of what became his spirit animal, Hayabusa the saker falcon. The connection with a spirit animal also lead to Shan Yu's strength, agility and senses being enhanced, along with a more bestial appearance.
He rose through the ranks, eventually becoming the leader of the Huns. When the Emperor of China built the Great Wall, Shan Yu took it as a challenge. He wanted to fight the Emperor's strongest armies to prove the might of his own. Unsurprisingly, Shan Yu was able to overpower them and completely destroy a village in the process. However, he and his army were buried by an avalanche caused by a soldier named Ping, who was really Mulan in disguise. Despite being buried in the snow, Shan Yu and five of his elite Huns survived. They managed to sneak into the Imperial City and abduct the Emperor, but Mulan and her friends intervened. This lead to a one-on-one battle with Mulan until Shan Yu was hit by a firework and sent into more firework. He was then sent to Walt Disney World, which he considers to be one weird form of afterlife.
Ambitions:
To conquer the parks and cause as much suffering and destruction as possible.
Strengths & abilities:
Shan Yu has immense strength that exceeds the strength of a normal man. His senses are also sharper than a normal human and he has a telepathic connection with Hayabusa that allows him to see through the falcon's eyes. Shan Yu is highly intelligent and almost unstoppable in battle.
Flaws:
Shan Yu is rather confident when it comes to the abilities of himself and his allies. This often leads to him underestimating his opponent. Shan Yu also has a relatively short temper, despite being rather stoic.
