Helen Parr felt forever grateful to Imelda for offering to care for her children. Now, she just needed to make sure they were going to behave while she would try to investigate what happened to the rest of her family. Within a quick, fluid motion, Helen changed into her Elastigirl costume underneath her clothing and waited for her son to arrive. No doubt he'd know what she'd be up to as soon as he'd see her changed.
The masked superheroine bit her lower lip and tilted her head upward to stare at the ceiling of the balcony, almost as if she were silently asking for a prayer of a chance that this would go over well without Dash making a big fuss about it like last time she tried to go on her own to the island. That didn't go over well. "Hey sweetie," She greeted her older son, shooting him a warm smile as soon as he entered through the balcony. She kneeled down on one knee in front of him. "I'm sorry I've missed the movie," Her lips formed a line with a genuinely, apologetic expression on her face as she placed a hand over his shoulder. As a stay-at-home mother, Helen was always one to watch movies with her boy and rarely missed a chance to with the exception of when she had to go work undercover in another city with Winston. The stay at home mother always tried to be there for all her children, but now she felt like she was being pulled more than she could be flexible for.
"Dash?" A sigh escaped her lips as the tough supermother decided to just tell him what she set out to do in a direct manner. "I have to go check on Vi and see if your father needs any help." The way it sounded, it was almost as if Bob needed help at the construction site, though perhaps that was because of Helen's strong hope against all odds that he may very well still be there. Even when it seemed like it was pointing to an answer, much like when it seemed that Bob was with another woman, she tended to cling onto the very last hope until she had clear evidence.
"I could really use your help with Jack Jack, sweetie. You know his powers start up if he even suspects that I'm gone.." The masked mother knew that Dash was probably not going to like staying here, and she was prepared to argue her counterpoint, but she would be firm regardless. She needed him here to provide Jack Jack with stability and to keep him preoccupied. Without stability, Jack-Jack would cause havoc on the Riveras and probably the entire building.
