Dash was aware that Mom was probably not completely sure how to think of Dr. Jumba Jookiba, perhaps. And with good reason. He liked that Cool Uncle title his own niece (whom Dash had yet to actually be by in a time to meet), and even other kids, like Dash, gave him, and it brought out...questionable ideas at times.
Or made the scientist enable Dash a bit.
Mr. Héctor had the same problem, so maybe it was also tied to liking kids.
But an enabler with cool tech was perhaps a bad combination.
Not that Dash helped, ranting about things like the Speedway Incident.
With a chuckle, Mr. Jumba had said it sounded like he needed a car of his own...and left it at that for a few days, before finally asking if Dash would like to try out a prototype he had...
By all accounts it was just a fancy go-cart, and a first step, he had said, as he also tried to build another hover car here for his niece, but...if Dash liked it he could have it.
The boy wasn't fooled. Mr. Jumba had made him a car, oddly understandingly not making it hover, since he recognized the boy appreciated the burn of rubber! He assured it was safe for anything Dash could think of trying in it...and (with a racing type helmet and goggles thrown in) left the boy to his explorations, after receiving a big hug from said kid, at a speed that almost knocked him over!
That was what Dash was doing now! Testing the car! With joy he found that no matter how hard he pushed the pedal, the car didn't seem to stall out and kept up pretty well! He. Could go. As Fast. As he wanted!
Dangerous perhaps, and Dash's joyous laughed showed it...right before he almost crashed into a pedestrian! Except...lights flickered and the car sort of self swerved, maybe also slowing, but...there were fail-safes in! Because Mr. Jumba knew him! Or maybe he just didn't want Mom mad at him; he'd already started asking Dash cryptic questions about the Elasticycle she mentioned one time.
A bit of fail-safing on him just made it cooler! Dash laughed, and as he careened around a walkway (clear) of the Yacht club. Spotting the bay he recalled Mr. Jumba saying he could try anything...
If he broke it, Mr. Jumba would make another right?
Dash pushed the pedal hard, aiming for the water and...yes! The tires turned to flatten out when he hit it! It could go on the water like a boat! "Mr. Jumba you're awesome!", Dash yelled praises he couldn't hear and did one lap around the bay! It was like a not complicated speed boat that he needed no instructions to understand.
After a bit of that, he aimed for the wooden dock once more and bumped up on to it semi-effortlessly, or the tires turned again. On the dock, Dash stopped to complete his cheering. "This thing's awesome!". He was so in love with it, he actually hugged the steering wheel.
