Who am I? Just a conscience!
Introduce yourself
Hey, howdy, hey! The name's MAGGIE, and I wished upon a star from ADS. My other imaginary friends include TRIPLETS ETC. KRISTOFF and I are so very eager to join the Worlds of Disney circle of life!
Character basics
Character name: Kristoff Bjorgman
Age: 21
Species: Human
Birthplace: Arendelle, or Hut Just Outside
Movie: Frozen, Frozen II
Custom title: Quirky Sámi Iceman
Why'd you pick this character? I wasn't going to, but his quirky character got to me again when I re-watched Frozen shorts. Yeah I'll take the goof-ball survivalist
Character appearance (try to get at least 2 or 3 sentences for each section)
Hair description: Blonde that, despite what his troll family says, is very manly! He keeps it trimmed but not enough to not peek through his hat.
Facial description/mood/expressions: Clean shaven. Kristoff is prone to looking serious, almost off-putting at times, but that's just if he doesn't know you and he's getting better about it. When he lets himself smile, he has a nice one and is just as prone to pulling silly faces at a reindeer, if he feels no-one's watching
Clothing style: Though he will dress in less layers, weather permitting, Kristoff works in the winter, and around stores of ice all the other times, and so has a wide assortment of heavy coats, mostly in gray, greens and browns and boots and scarves of the same color and keeps them at the ready even to have during freak summer snow storms. His tunic underneath is mostly of a blue color.
Body build: Tall, at over 6', and well built, Kristoff has broad shoulders just from build alone, but has built them up also with his profession. That being said, and with a wide stance, he is also nimble enough to haul and catch blocks of ice.
Any unique traits (optional): Just the quirk about talking to reindeer
Original character analysis (In your own words and please be thorough)
Personality: Though he’s gotten better, Kristoff still struggles with interpersonal relationships. Even now he can come off as aloof, though a lack of knowing what to do or say could be part of that. It’s debatable whether it’s better for him to remain silent or attempt an answer, though, as he will most likely put his foot in his mouth when he does.
Refusing to let it stop him, Kristoff still tries, and especially when it’s important. Like for Anna.
He loves Anna, and this is both why he started trying, and why he continues.
An avid survivalist, where Kristoff’s confidence takes over, and shines, is in knowing mountain paths and the best course with snow anchors and such. He thinks himself very world wise and experienced, and while this is true to a point, he also doesn’t see the ways he himself lacks as well.
He retains his childish curiosity, though it doesn’t show as much. Bumbling but good hearted, when you make a friend in him you have one for life.
History: Born the son of an ice-harvester himself, it was why Kristoff gravitated towards the profession, though even he doesn’t recall this. His mother died giving birth to him. His father, while loving, wasn’t the best with people (a trait he inherited to be pronounced in his son). He managed to make his son a sled though, before an accident when the boy was only three left Kristoff wandering amidst his father’s cohorts, who tolerated him for his father’s sake, but didn’t take any special interest in the lad.
He learned off of them how to do their trade, cutting and lifting and pushing blocks of ice over to them (with the aid of his sled!), to minimalist smiles and slight praise, but he couldn’t push the sled but from the lakes to the carts and had no real way to be further useful until he met a reindeer fawn in the woods. He named him Sven, and the two quickly became friends. Kristoff would tie ropes to his new friend (after asking of course...though he also said Sven said it was ok) and he was an immense help in pulling the ice blocks so that they could follow the others even!
Then one day, the king rode by in search of the mountain trolls to save his youngest daughter, a trail of ice following in their wake. Intrigued, Kristoff followed to watch, in turn being spotted by what he’d at first taken to be a rock, but was instead the troll, Bulda, who immediately took him and Sven in.
He still dropped by to continue learning the ice harvesting business, but was even scarcer a presence and lived with Bulda and the other trolls. By twelve, though, he and Sven were already semi-self sufficient. He sold ice off of cute looks until it became actual skill in adolescence.
He’d learned to make his own, larger, simple sled, which served him until he’d saved up enough for the down payment on a real one.
Things went well enough until one day, when he was out selling, (and about to seal the deal on ten blocks at once!) a freak snow storm suddenly came from nowhere! Consequently the man he’d been selling to both was preoccupied and now said he didn’t need any ice.
Unhappy and confused, Kristoff donned his heavier coat and boots and tracked the source of the colder winds causing the storm to the direction of the North Mountain, just for his knowledge. He then turned his attention to what next, which was a trip by Oaken’s Trading Post for further supplies, where he met a young woman also interested in the freak storm and its direction, and was attempted cheated by Oaken and thrown out when he pointed it out.
As he was sulking in the barn, however, that young woman came to find him and hired him and Sven to take her to the North Mountain. Turned out she was Princess Anna, and her sister, the queen, was the cause of all the trouble. The trip started out well enough (discussion over the Princess’ naïveté aside) until they were attacked by wolves.
Anna both saved him and almost set him on fire before the whole chase resulted in him losing his sled. He was pretty much done right then and there, offer of a new sled aside, but convinced himself (through saying Sven convinced him) to continue helping Anna, since she was so clearly lost without him.
Along the way they met a delusional snowman Elsa had apparently made, Olaf.
A bit slower than he and Sven would have without her and the snowman, they made it to Elsa’s impressive Ice Palace. Anna insisted on speaking to Elsa alone. Kristoff waited outside longer than the literal “minute” Olaf gave her but then could contain his nerves no longer and entered, to inspect the ice, and from a bit of beginning worry over Anna. He found her just after an accident with her sister’s ice apparently. Elsa’s Snow guard threw them out, and then Anna made it mad and complicated their whole escape.
Once they were far enough away from the ice palace that it left them, Kristoff noticed the full extent of damage Anna had sustained. Her hair was white. Knowing she would need again what he’d once witnessed, and suddenly not concerned with his sled so much as with her, he took her to his family of trolls. After a side-track of the meaning of his having brought her, Grand Pabbie informed them that only an act of true love could thaw her frozen heart.
Despite his own budding feelings, he knew, with her own feelings, her fiancé Hans was the best shot and raced her to the palace, handing her off to the care of the palace servants and, trusting she was now cared for and would get better, left her to her happy life.
Sven challenged him on this being best, in one of those annoying times he actually “said” things himself. Kristoff was still inclined to shove his own feelings aside and not listen, but upon spotting a blizzard, immediately rushed back to Anna’s aid, where he found her not as well as she should be. She was on the verge of freezing, but before he could reach her, she noticed Hans about to attack Elsa and rushed to her sister’s aid, putting herself in danger and forgoing her own saving to save Elsa. She only just managed to get in front of Han’s sword before freezing, but her selfless act worked and she came back, restored.
Her sacrifice also gave Elsa the clue to thawing the eternal winter and Arendelle also was restored. Kristoff was all eager to take care of Hans himself, but also stepped back and let Anna deal with him. Hans and the also conspiring Duke were taken away; Anna gave him a sled, and new title from her sister (made up or no) and he finally confessed his feelings for her.
