Who am I? Just a conscience!
Introduce yourself
Hey, howdy, hey! The name's Gatonom, and I wished upon a star from Neo. My other characters include Zira, Kronk, Tito, Zazu, Slinky, and Kovu. Donald Duck and I are so very eager to join the Worlds of Disney circle of life!
Character basics
Character name: Donald Duck
Age: 30
Species: Pekin Duck
Birthplace: Duckburg
Movie: The Wise Little Hen (and many more that followed...)
Custom title: The Duck
Why'd you pick this character?
I am keen on diversifying into characters that are less set in a single film (especially expanding out of the films I grew up with. Donald is a timeless character, and works excellently at this role. I prefer him the most out of big three (Mickey, Donald, Goofy) for being most relatable. Whether it's his temper, his family and friends, or just how the world likes knocking him around.
Character appearance (try to get at least 2 or 3 sentences for each section)
Hair description: Donald lacks hair, but his head is covered by a smooth white feathers!
Facial description/mood/expressions: Donald is very expressive with his eyes, especially given his beak limits the range his mouth can have. Primarily through the use of glares. His mood can be told from his eyes and sometimes his mouth. Crossed eyes, or an intense stare when he's freaking out; droopy eyes when tired; bug-eyed when surprised.
Clothing style: Donald wears various styles of sailor suit, the most common a dark blue dress shirt with a red bow on the front, and a blue cap with a black brim. The color of the shirt is the most set element of his wardrobe.
Body build: Donald's muscles are hidden under his plumage, giving him a soft round appearance. This along with his size makes him look deceptively average in build.
Any unique traits (optional): N/A
Original character analysis (In your own words and please be thorough)
Personality:
Donald is widely known for his hotheadedness, but this is not all there is to him! Donald is what he needs to be, while also never straying too far from being a relatable average duck. His flaws are certainly what make him great. He is not above desire, instead he confronts what his desires will cost him and his heart prevails over greed after tense internal conflict. Donald is usually of high ambition and spirits, whether it is from a care-free attitude or an arrogant one. While Donald is not too bright, he is great study. He's not much for reading books, but a good documentary will stay with him!
This duck isn't one to think things through or reflect on them, his life is a series of actions broken up by periods of rest. His friends come from just meeting, spending time together, and in time forming memories together! Whether that time was spent causing mischief, singing and dancing, fighting the Axis, or adventuring for treasure. Closest to him of all of course are his family, but some of his friends are like family!
Donald's trademark outbursts of rage are usually sparked by a cycle of frustration. Something goes wrong and this leads to him losing his wits, and making more mistakes that serve to frustrate him more. However they can come from other sources, such as his fear response. It much too frequently leads to yelling, arms-flailing, and foot-stomping!
Donald is very expressive with gestures, whether accompanied with transformative Toon magic, or not.
History:
The story of Donald Fauntleroy Duck began with an outburst as he hatched from his egg. Odd jobs cut it for a while, but he had to get serious after he started babysitting his nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie, the kids of his sister Della. Property damage can be a drain on the wallet. In time they mellowed out as he eventually became their guardian. Donald became much more like a father, bringing them along to man his sailboat and in scouting escapades. Overall before the US joined WWII, Donald was focused on rearing his sister's kids and looking for his true calling for employment.
Donald was already a big name by 1940, yet hopped from job to job. Police, fireman, construction, and plenty of lesser jobs. His on-again, off-again girlfriend Daisy Duck came into the picture a this time. Throughout the 30s and 40s Donald was interested in the new technology, but it was the 40s when he got over the incident at the Museum of Modern Marvels. Though the excitement was dampened by well, World War II. He learned of his duty to his country, nay, to the world before he was drafted and put through training.
The duck started off in the army as a mere private, with ambitions toward piloting the fantastic new machine known as the airplane. He wouldn't get to fly one for the military, but at least got a hold of a civilian one while on leave. After the war, Donald returned to quiet life for a while. But not without fanfare, Two of his friends, a Brazilian Parrot named José Carioca, and a Mexican rooster named Panchito Pistoles, celebrated his birthday and dubbing themselves The Three Caballeros Most of the action following the war was far more domestic, such as his rivalry with Chip and Dale, and tension between him and his Uncle.
After a stint of civilian life, Donald joined the US Navy and became a real sailor, leaving his nephews with his Uncle, the trillionaire, Scrooge McDuck.
Ambitions:
More than anything, Donald strives to be surrounded by family and good friends. Happy times and wealth to keep everything secure without being in Scrooge's shadow. He aims to control his anger though he has come to see the benefits of his outbursts as well, thus it is not to eliminate his anger.
Strengths & abilities:
Donald has been through the rigorous training of WWII veteran and a modern Navy sailor. Adding in his Toon nature, this makes Donald a force to be reckoned with physically. Toss in the trademark anger, and this little duck can best opponents much larger than him. His brave heart doesn't hurt either, though some tact would be nice, he will protect those he cares about, or fight by their side!
Flaws:
Donald's temper always gets the best of him, and makes his speech impediment even worse. The duck over-estimates himself constantly, and can't take near as much as he can dish upon others. Finally, Donald is somewhat lacking in book-smarts, with an education standard of the 40s despite his biological youth.
Likes:
Donald enjoys machinery, even if it doesn't like him, but especially boats and planes. Sports of all kinds are also right up his alley, anything from Golf, to hockey, to an ice war-game. He enjoys playing pranks and jokes on others. Naturally he likes spending time with friends, especially dancing.
Dislikes:
Although it happens so very often, Donald really hates being humiliated. He can't take near the jokes he can dish out.
Fears:
Donald fears those he loves and cares about getting hurt or worse. He fears his anger being misplaced, especially so if it could lead to him causing someone pain. He also fears ending up a failure, whether failing in his ambitions or not living up to the standards of those around him.
Anything to add?:
Donald's speech impediment will be a balancing act, between clarity and character.
