(Left it as Parrs only in case Violet wanted to come in whenever she wanted)
Sometimes, it doesn't happen on a certain, special day or a special occasion like most people expect. Sometimes, it just happens on a random, ordinary day, where the day just gets hard, without even crime fighting involved. Not to say that being a mother of three is hard for Helen all the time. Given how Helen was used to taking care of things as a stay-at-home mom, she was used to the day-to-day activities that she had to do with her family. It was just.. all the reminders that would flood all the memories back, all the memories of him. Her husband. It could be just thinking about the next holiday without him, or something that someone would say that would remind her of him, like Darkwing. It could even be just something that someone would do, like the way Dash seemed to act more like his dad if that was even possible. That's even including all the questions the fans would have about Bob whenever they would stop her in her supersuit. Questions like: Where is Mr. Incredible? How long have you been married again? Where's your dance partner? All these things, individually, Helen could easily just answer for them and toughen it out, like she would always do.
Today just happened to be those normal, ordinary days where all those individual moments seemed to combine. Imelda and Elsa did tell her about how those reminders were sometimes the hardest. It came in waves, she supposed. Today, all those moments that she toughened out seemed to have struck her after Jack Jack pointed to a toy that looked like Bob in his supersuit, something Bob would've appreciated. The funny thing is, Helen couldn't even bring herself to buy it, and she didn't even know what to say to Jack Jack. What was she supposed to say? No, you can't have your dad toy? What kind of mom even says that? It was ridiculous, and not even worth being sad about.
Yet here Helen Parr was in their small hotel room, long after their kids were asleep in their bed after their bedtime curfew, and her tough walls finally lowered to allow herself to cry softly to herself. As strong as she tried to be, she was only human, and she gravely missed her husband that she married for 15 years. While she was sniffing softly in hopes to not wake them, she heard an audible cry from Jack Jack that made her quickly wipe away her tears and get up from bed to attend to her baby in the rentable crib.
"Aww..shh..it's okay," Helen tried to soothe her baby as she held him in her arms with a light bounce. "Mommy's here.." She whispered in a gentle, reassuring way and kissed him on his cheek. The auburn haired mother then walked over to the couch and curled up with Jack Jack snuggled in her arms. "I know you miss your dad, sweetie.. " She finally addressed to Jack Jack what had happened with the toy bit in a soft whisper, now being able to find the words that she didn't have earlier. "I miss him, too.. so much.." She whispered with all the affection in the world. "H-How about a superhero bedtime story this time?" She whispered to Jack Jack with a small smile, trying to make up for what Bob used to do in talking about what he used to do in the Glory Days; except Helen wasn't going to talk about herself as Elastigirl, she was going to talk about superheroes in the Glory Days in attempts to honor them the way Imelda and Hector taught her. "There was once a super named Blazestone.." She began with a smile, "Let's just say she was uhm..close friends with Frozone for a while.." Let's not mention that they were dating. As if a one year old would understand that anyways. "You actually share a lot of her powers, Jack Jack.." She whispered to him with an affectionate smile, "She had fire powers, just like you.. she could-" Helen faltered from continuing the story only for a few seconds when she covered her mouth with a hand to hide a yawn, "Sorry about that.."
