"That was close, Archie..too close.." The evil business woman, Morgana Macawber, murmured to her spider familiar as soon as she returned back to her dark, stormy Macawber Manor. "Eek? Squeak? You're sure you gave him enough sleep powder?" The tall witch asked of her two bat familiars that were flying nearby, placing a hand on the curve of her hip. The bats nodded with a confirmed squeak. "Oh, thank you, my pets. We really can't afford to have Darkwing know it was real, after all.." Morgana fixed her raven hair striped with white in the mirror, but smiled to herself upon reflecting her little adventure. If she were honest with herself, spending time in Dream World with the one that called himself the terror of the night was nothing short of wonderful, but it had revealed far too much about her deep, secret fantasies about that hero. Her daydreaming about that handsome duck in a tuxedo marrying her had finally come true for her in dream world, but Darkwing could never know it was real. No, he needed to believe he was asleep the entire time. For her sake. If Darkwing knew they were real, then he'd be all the more persuasive than he was already, and she really couldn't afford to let him do that. Literally. While she adored the hero, the villainess needed the money for a reason.
The next night, Morgana had been setting up a mushroom based skin care product for her next pyramid scheme, but that was put on hold upon learning from her Hex of the Month club that an eclipse was about to happen within a matter of a week. "A solar eclipse? Ohh.. do tell.." She lowered her purple eyelids with a smirk playing along her orange bill as she leaned forward with interest in what the witch in the crystal orb had to say. A solar eclipse was considered a bad omen for some good witches in her group, but Morgana was also not a good girl. Already this witch was thinking of a far better scheme in mind. It really was such a shame that eclipses didn't last that long. Oh, how terrible it would be for businesses everywhere if the entire day became night?
It was bad enough for their businesses, maybe, but certainly not hers.
The day of the eclipse was always such a wonder for Normals, but it wasn't the case for Morgana, who knew how to turn the brightest day into a dark, dreary storm. All she needed to do was to create the world's biggest blackout curtain cut out in the shape of a cloud to shield the sun, then hide it behind other looming dark clouds. Now all she had to do was wait for the moment that the eclipse would hit. Standing by the window, Morgana waited until the second that the eclipse started and then summoned her spellbook that came hopping through the door as she began floating various ingredients into the cauldron while she loudly spoke of the incantation:
"Heart of mule, head of boar,
"Block the sun all the more!
A drop of glass, and a scream of fright.
Turn this day into night!"
As soon as she was finished, the witch clasped her hands together and zapped the sky after making the calculation for the drop in pressure and wind speed of the clouds looming in. With an appeased smile that formed across her small orange bill, Morgana Macawber watched out the window as the sky became dark for a lot longer than the usual seven minutes. The evil business woman had succeeded in making the entire day into night.
With the entire day turned into night, Morgana was able to speed up the production of her product, "Tremella Night Cream," made primarily from the tremella fuciformis, also known as snow fungus. Her business grew, quite literally, through this new night while Morgana provided all those sellers under her pyramid scheme with far more product for them to sell. Unlike what most would think, Morgana's product was real, of course, and it was as effective as advertised: Not only does it soften the skin, but it had the ability to retain moisture in skin even more than hyaluronic acid; it also has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and has been proven to accelerate wound healing. Unfortunately, none of the people that were in the bottom tiers of her pyramid scheme would benefit from investing their money in selling these cosmetics. Only she would be benefitting financially mostly. Not only that, but the effectiveness of this product would prove to be far too competitive that would put the other hyaluronic creams out of business, given that this was far better and far more natural than hyaluronic acid. What a shame. The evil business woman would simply have no choice but to buy these other companies going out of business in efforts to save them, which would surely monopolize her company as the only beauty cream on the market. And they said that success doesn't happen overnight.
