Who am I? Just a conscience!
Introduce yourself
Hey, howdy, hey! The name's Fantom Stranger, and I wished upon a star from Never Land.. My other characters include Toad and his entourage. Giulia and I are so very eager to join the Worlds of Disney circle of life!
Character basics
Character name: Giulia Marcovaldo
Age: 11
Species: Human
Birthplace: Portorosso, Italy
Movie: Luca
Custom title: Portorosso Cup Hopeful
Why'd you pick this character? Wanted to grab her up before someone else did.
Character appearance (try to get at least 2 or 3 sentences for each section)
Hair description: Giulia is a redhead, sporting a mass of thick, heavy curls that she couldn't tame if she wanted to. The only thing keeping them under some semblance of control is a knitted beanie.
Facial description/mood/expressions: Giulia's face is very, very round, and her facial features are even more so. Her large mouth is often seen in a toothy grin, but if she gets mad at you, watch out! Her dark eyes flash fire then, until justice is served, and then she's all smiles again.
Clothing style: Giulia's father isn't rich, by any means. So her clothes are more functional than fashionable. In fact, they don't always fit all that well, as she often has to make do with second-hands and hand-me-downs. But jeans, sandals, and a typically-Italian striped jersey are the norm.
Body build: She is of average height for her age, and skinny enough that a stranger might think she didn't get enough to eat. In spite of her exceptionally thin arms and legs, Giulia is strong for her size.
Any unique traits (optional): Not really
Original character analysis (In your own words and please be thorough)
Personality:
Giulia is filled with energy and does most things at top speed. Including talking, which leaves some people just scratching their heads with wonder. She is not shy in the least with adults or strangers or anyone she might meet.
Giulia is highly competitive, maybe even too much so. This is what caused her to enter the Portorosso Cup alone while everyone else was part of a three-man team. No teammates? Then she would do it herself, each and every event. The fact that she lost every year didn't cause her the least embarrassment. In fact, pretty much the only thing that can possibly embarrass this girl is getting sick in public.
She is an extremely hard worker, giving it her all, no matter what the task. And even when her goal is, frankly, impossible, her innate confidence refuses to allow her to believe she will do anything but succeed. A natural optimist, she believes anything is possible with enough hard work and a never-say-die attitude.
History:
Giulia was a normal, happy kid in Portorosso in the 50's. Her family wasn't rich, but she was satisfied just to be together. When her parents split up, it devastated her; she felt as if her heart had been ripped in two, half left in Portorosso and half dragged away to the big city. Not that she hated the city, far from it. There were museums, and theaters, and a much better school than back in the village
Each summer she spent with her father, and they weren't nearly long enough. When she said arrivederci to him come September, it was like an old wound reopened. Giulia became very protective of her father and very sensitive to his lonely winters.
Her competitive personality made it only natural that she would enter the Portorosso Cup every year. Even after the first year, when she got sick during the spaghetti-eating portion of the contest, Giulia would not give up. But now, no one wanted to be on her team. Never mind, she would go it alone, and still win!
Well, win she never did, but she kept at it; the knowledge that other kids were cheating only solidified her determination to win fair and square.
It was chance that introduced Giulia to a couple of new kids, Alberto and Luca. In spite of their athletic shortcomings, Giulia agreed to let them join her team for the Portorosso Cup. And, yes, their newly-formed friendship had its ups and downs, but when the boys were revealed to be, of all things, sea monsters, Giulia was quick to defend them from the villagers
The result was a new friendship between humans and sea monsters. And Alberto was soon adopted by Giulia's father; Giulia now considers Alberto her unofficial brother, unlike Luca, for whom she developed a secret crush. She was delighted to know that her father would now be less lonely when she headed back to school.
