It was a nice day and the caped crusader woke up particularly excited because it was the very day he chose to take the day off to relax and do nothing on. Since the crown incident he was told to see the park's therapist. Naturally, the hero was skeptical at first. He didn't even know the theme park had a therapist, but they did and the lady was a real weirdo; always so cheerful, perky, and she always had something nice to say no matter what. It did not take Dr. Kelly long at her to determine that the violet vigilante was suffering from stress and paranoia. Her recommendation? That he needed to take some time off from performing super heroics. Naturally, the hero had some concerns and he wasted no time in sharing them with her among them was his fear of what might happen should he take the day off from saving the day. He worried the villains particularly his archnemesis, Negaduck would take advantage of his absence to wreck havoc on the park. Dr. Kelly listened patiently and with understanding and she reminded him that he shouldn't worry so much. That there were other heroes at the parks fully capable of protecting innocents from harm and saving the day. It was not an easy thing for him to admit. He had been so used to be his city's sole savior that he sometimes forgot that it was no longer the case here. To tell the truth he liked being the only hero and the challenges and all the glory that came with that responsibility. He knew he would just have to get used to sharing the glory with the park's other heroes. Not an easy thing for him to do to be sure, but he was willing to try. Eventually, his therapist was able to convince him to take some time off.
Because he was seriously doing this, Darkwing had the perfect dates in mind to take his mini vacation. He had heard intriguing news of a comicon showing up at one of the resort's hotels, the Contemporary Resort located in the Magic Kingdom. He had heard some pretty cool stuff about the upcoming comicon too like how it supposedly was so big that it will host booths for just about any interest you could think of. Feeling like a kid, Darkwing could hardly wait. In the meantime, he wondered what he should dress up as since being a comicon people will dress up as their favorite character and whatnot. He supposed he could always just go as himself or heck even as Negaduck, but nah he wanted to be a little more creative than that. After giving it a little more thought he decided he would represent his own hotel, Galaxy's Edge and go as a Jedi. Only problem was he admittedly was not yet familiar enough with the characters to choose a specific one to be, so he decided to just be a made up Jedi. His costume consisted of the traditional Jedi robes and a purple lightsaber that he had made one day during his stay in Galaxy's Edge. He left off his mask since he thought it might throw the whole outfit off, so it looked like he would finally be going out as his civilian alterego, Drake Mallard. Whatever. It was fine especially since he had his superhero get up hidden underneath his Jedi robes just in case Darkwing will be needed. He hoped Darkwing wouldn't be needed this time around because believe it or not he really did just want to have fun and enjoy himself this weekend without any distractions. He really hoped the hotel wouldn't become a target for supervillains and he hoped nothing else went wrong during his visit to the beautiful Contemporary Resort either.
At long last Friday had arrived, the comicon's very first day and Drake was determined to get there before it got too crowded. So he boarded the monorail the earliest he could and arrived at the Magic Kingdom's beautiful hotel. The really cool thing about this hotel was that the monorail ran through it, so when he hopped off the monorail he was already inside the hotel. Already he saw that other people had also made it, but he definitely beat the crowd. Grinning to himself he proceeded to look around at the various booths and enjoy. As he looked around he spotted a sign suggesting that there was even more interesting things located on the upper floors. Oh if only he ignored the sign and just remained on the first floor, but no as usual he just had to let his curiosity get the better of him. And so without giving it another thought Drake entered the elevator along with a few other people. He wasn't sure which floor they wanted to go to, but to be polite he made room for them. He remembered the sign saying that there were some Star Wars stuff on the tenth floor, so Drake went ahead and pushed the number, ten elevator button while other people pushed their designated floor buttons. The elevator doors then shut closing everybody inside as well as sealing their fate. Drake had almost forgotten why he normally avoided elevators: it was because they tended to become so very awkward and some elevators had some very annoying ear splitting music. Luckily, this one had no such background music, thank God. It still felt unbelievably awkward though. While heading towards the various floors it stopped a couple of times along the way picking new people up and dropping old ones off.
And then it happened; every elevatophobe's nightmare: the elevator suddenly stopped on the sixth floor and the lights began to flicker like crazy. The elevator suddenly stopping sent an unprepared Drake to the ground. The dazed Jedi climbed back to his feet and looked around at the fairly roomy elevator and at his fellow trapped visitors. Already Drake could tell that this particular group was going to be problematic to deal with. He could not believe that only an hour into the comicon and already Darkwing was needed. It was certainly a good thing he had his superhero costume underneath his Jedi robes otherwise... Oh right he couldn't very well shed his ingenious disguise now. Everybody in the elevator would know his carefully guarded secret if he did. It seemed he would just have to try to save the day as Drake Mallard while making up some kind of excuse as to how he knew what to do. 'Not a problem,' he thought. He was good at making up excuses. Taking charge he finally addressed the group, "everybody okay? Don't panic. We don't know for sure if we're stuck yet. Hang on going to try another number." The accountant then made his way over to the elevator button panel and tried to make the elevator move again by pressing a different number, 13. Unlike some people he wasn't superstitious and as such feared no number. Still, the elevator refused to respond and the doors remained clamped shut. "C'mon! C'mon move already," he muttered under his breath as he began to push even more buttons in his desperate attempt to get the elevator moving again. Turning to the others he smiled sheepishly. "Hehe technical difficulties. Don't worry I got this," he reassured them confidently before trying desperately once more only for the elevator to remain still. Ironically it seemed while trying to keep everybody else calm he himself was starting to panic. He may not have been claustrophobic persay, but he did not like the idea of being stuck anywhere for any amount of time. Already, the walls seemed to close in on him.
Thankfully, Drake still had enough sense in him to stop pushing buttons and to accept that they were in fact stuck. He had another idea. Nervously, he opened the emergency phone case and called up the front desk, "um hello. Anybody there? Not to be a bother or anything, but...GET ME OUT OF HERE! THE ELEVATOR STOPPED ON THE SIXTH FLOOR! IT'S STUCK! GET US OUT OF HERE NOW!" To Drake's horror nobody was picking up. "No no no this cannot be happening! C'mon pick up! Pick up already!" he continued to yell desperately into the empty phone in a panicked voice while pacing anxiously back and forth. Clearly he was freaking out and in a total panic! Not good since others were likely to follow suit and panic as well.
ooc: This thread is open to anyone even to villains. So if interested please join in. Don't be shy. The only rule here is that the elevator itself is power proof meaning one cannot use their powers within the elevator nor can one use their powers to escape. I did this on purpose to prevent the thread from ending too soon. I don't want escape to be too easy for them.
