Most of the time, Pepa had no difficulties with her emotions affecting the weather. She was glad that it was localized, and not widespread. Sure, she could flood the courtyard of casita but her influence on the weather didn't extend over the whole town anymore. She had caused a few floods when she was a child, and everything had been overwhelming for her. Something would upset her, she would cry, rain would fall; Mamá would get upset about the rain, which just made Pepa more upset. It had been a vicious cycle. It hadn't been until her teen years, when Pepa went through a time that she didn't care what mamá thought, that Pepa had started gaining some level of control. She was fairly skilled at keeping the weather patterns just around herself (unless she wanted them more spread out), and she was usually able to tone down her reactions to less severe weather patterns.
She had gotten accustomed to the general weather here in Florida, and knew that the days were supposed to be hot and sunny. Okay, occasionally some rain, but definitely not snow!
Pepa immediately ran through a mental checklist on herself. She wasn't upset, or panicking. While the snow was relatively light and fluffy, Pepa knew that she felt too bright and upbeat for such precipitation. Her mood was sunny. She'd spent the morning with some cuddles from Antonio, and then they made breakfast together for all of the Madrigals. Naturally the family had decided to stay together in the same suite. Pepa loved being with her family, though she missed the others very much. Dolores, Camilo, and Felix had each other, and casita, and Juanita, Agustín, Isabela, Bruno, and Mamá were there as well. But she knew the absence of her family wasn't affecting her emotions at the moment; she was pretty good about keeping those buried until she was at the hotel, in bed. So why was it snowing.
Granted, the snow wasn't sticking; the unobstructed sun kept the pavement too hot for that. But there was definitely a difference in temperature.
Ahead, Pepa heard the squeals of children having fun. Regardless of the unexpected snowfall, Pepa wanted to surround herself with the laughter of children, and since she was already heading in that direction...
