Tinker Bell was not in Neverland anymore. That much was obvious. The question was... where was she? Luckily, Tink was no adventuring rookie! A mysterious new land? Well, that was no match for her keen fairy intellect. She was clearly in some kind of magical kingdom. Only a genius like her could have worked that out so quickly.
Plus there had been a big sign saying "The Magic Kingdom" she had just flown past.
Apart from that, all she had established was that it was BUSY and hot. There were lots of people milling about the street below, dressed in all kinds of funny styles. Styles Tink didn't recognise, but she observed were not as cute as her outfit, so that was okay.
A panicked thought entered her mind. What if her outfit had changed when she'd come here? Worried, she flew to a nearby shop window, where she observed herself in the glass. Nope! She looked as good as ever, she thought, twirling and giving herself a satisfied look.
She went to fly away, but passed the shop door, feeling a cool breeze coming from inside. She flew right in without a second thought, keen to get out of the heat. Her jaw dropped at what she saw inside. Treasures! Treasures everywhere! Cute and cuddly ones, toys, trinkets... Oh wow. She couldn't wait to tell Peter about this place.
She began to explore further, despite largely being ignored. She was tiny, and none of these people seemed interesting anyway. She landed, observing a big stuffed blue monster with floppy ears. She prodded it curiously. Just a toy.
And then suddenly, a hand closed around her. She yelped.
"Look, Mommy! A Tinker Bell! Can we get it? Pleeeeease?" boomed the voice of, well, a small human child, but it was loud to Tink. Tink squirmed helplessly in the hand.
"I don't know, there's no price on it," an even bigger human replied. Probably a Mother. Tink didn't like Mothers. Wendy had been like a mother, and when she was around, nobody cared about Tink...
"Besides, it's kind of creepy. Wouldn't you prefer a plushie one?" The mother asked. Creepy!? Tink looked up at the mother furiously, giving an angry pout. Both parent and child jumped at her moving, and the child let her go.
Tink flew higher, directly into the mother's face, and blew a big raspberry at her, before flying away to explore further, stopping only to straighten out her dress after getting squeezed by the hand...
