why: I've adored Katrina since I saw The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. I love her sass and lack of words; it makes her a very mysterious heroine. Plus, she isn't one of those goody-goody heroines who always side with the heroes. She can be bad if she wants to.

facial description/mood expressions: Her looks are very deceiving, indeed. She uses her dazzling face to lure men to her, and she succeeds everytime! Despite the gloom in Sleepy Hollow, she's seen as the most happy and festive of the citizens. Hardly does she ever look upset, unless one of those homely people dare to annoy her.
clothing style: Being the wealthiest girl in Sleepy Hollow, her wardrobe consist of the finest sewn dresses, most of which have poofy skirts. She must confess that they aren't the most conservative clothes most well-mannered girls should wear. The only color she requests for is pink, her favorite color.
body build: She's got an hourglass sort of figure; not the best body for a woman during her time. She wears a corset a little too tightly sometimes, making her look more like an hourglass. But really, it's all exaggerated caricature!

Spoiled by wealth, beauty, and popularity, Katrina is not what you may think she is. Underneath all those gorgeous smiles, dreamy blue eyes, and charm and grace, she's a stuck up, harsh snob. With all the different gentlemen before her, she could care less about any of them! Unless, there's a special one who's willing to win her heart. Now, don't call her a witch, because she is still considerate on the good girl side, but she's just careless. Her ego just tells her to just think for herself.
It's not very simple to easily win her heart. You'd have to be charming, handsome, brave, and simply THE only one who could ultimately win her small heart.
She always wears her famous deceiving bright smile. Her blue eyes are always twinkling whenever she blinks. And her thin legs are always walking so gracefully. She prefers not to talk, but use her enchanting face to gain some attention. Afterall, actions speak louder than words.
history: Katrina is the only daughter of old Baltus Van Tassel, the richest farmer of the county, and owns a large farm estate. Being the only child, things obviously went her way the way she wanted in her family. Her mother passed at a very young age. Since then, old Baltus treated his Katrina like a princess. During her childhood, Katrina was always an adorable little child, probably being the most admired child by the adults. She acquired proper manners of a young lady that made her the talk of children amongst adults.
But after the years of puberty, Katrina was no longer an adorable child, but she had blossomed into a beautiful young woman. However, the more older and more wiser she became, she became more fliratous to draw men toward her. By the time she was an adult, everywhere she went, there was at least somebody following her. She was simply the most desired prize for a wife in all of Sleepy Hollow. For a long time, Katrina never found anyone she felt she truly loved in return. So, for the time being, she spent most of her time being the sweet little coquette she was to gain the attention from all the men of Sleepy Hollow. None of the gentlemen were successful, thus far...
Then there came Ichabod Crane, the new school teacher of Sleepy Hollow, and Brom Bones, one of the 'Sleepy Hollow boys.' Katrina was never very fond of Bones, for he was one of those insane country bumpkins. Although she knew he was after her for a long time, Katrina wished another daring and confident gentleman (by that, a more upper-class gentleman) would come along. And that day came when the new school master arrived in the village.
Brave Ichabod became another one of those gentlemen who wanted to carry her purchased merchandise. Then, the wild and ambitious Brom Bones had revealed his gentleman side, temporarily taking her away from Ichabod. Then Crane was successful once more by walking her back to her estate. Before her annual Halloween Party, it was Crane whom Katrina was particularly hoping to attend. Bones, well, he had probably snuck in to battle against his rival. Angered that Crane had probably won, Bones tells the story of the Headless Horseman.
It could have been Crane who would be Katrina's potential husband, if it hadn't been for the awful night, where he was presumably destroyed by the Headless Horseman. Many thought Crane to be gone for good, but some thought he was still out there. Although rather shocked by his sudden disappearance, Katrina finally married...you guessed it, Brom Bones.

what makes this character unique: She's not really a heroine, and she's not really a villain. She is an unbiased girl who uses trickery to lure men to her. In a sense, she is neither good or bad, but she does what pleases her the most. She could care less about the heroes' motives or even the villains' - she really is a character who just minds her own business!
