All right, Gadget had made her bargain with Orddu; now all she had to do was to find a magical object to trade.
Easier said than done! Her first stop had been to the potion-seller stand. Or, the spot where the stand used to be. No matter how many times she searched the area, no stand appeared. And although Gadget wracked her brain, the little mouse couldn't remember seeing any other magic item since she'd arrived in the park. Except for Maleficent's stick. That looked like it might be magical.
She shuddered at the thought of trying to get her hands on it. Without getting killed. Or worse.
Gadget took out a roll of paper, the remains of a register tape that had run out. The castmembers were always throwing them out, and, for a mouse, they came in handy for drawing blueprints and making lists.
At the bottom, she wrote "Maleficent's stick" with the notation, "Last Resort."
Now for the park brochures. The information desk was able to give her flyers for each of the parks, and Gadget went to work, spreading them out and standing on them to study the lists of attractions. She proceeded to copy down the names of every spot that sounded like it might contain some magic object or other.
Yeah, she knew the "magic" involved was all fake, created by sophisticated technology. But the brainy mouse hoped there was one that contained something truly magical. At least, it seemed like a good place to start.
Sadly, the Enchanted Tiki Room, Magic Eye Theater, and Journey into Imagination were nothing but clever uses of advanced technology.
With a sigh she crossed them out and headed for the next place on the list: the Temple of the Crystal Skull in Tokyo DisneySea.
