Who am I? Just a conscience!
Introduce yourself
Hey, howdy, hey! The name's AI, and I wished upon a star from ZARINA! WE USED TO RP HERE WAY BACK WHEN! (SHE WAS NANI, I WAS LING! <3) My other imaginary friends include NOT SURE YET! CEDRIC and I are so very eager to join the Worlds of Disney circle of life!
Character basics
Character name: Cedric
Age: 38 (I can't find the exact quote but I remember reading somewhere that the creator of Sofia the First said he was in his late thirties. ^^)
Species: Human/Sorcerer
Birthplace: Enchancia
Movie: Sofia the First
Custom title: "MERLIN'S MUSHROOMS!"
Why: Oh gosh, where do I even start? So aside from the princess cameos, Cedric was the main reason I started watching Sofia the First. Initially, I wrote it off as just a kiddy show, being on Disney Junior and all, but when I checked out the pilot, I was surprised to see how quality it was in terms of writing and animation and how funny the villain was. He's pretty much the biggest dork in the universe and what can I say? I've always had a soft spot for dorks, especially villains and sidekicks. <3
Character appearance (try to get at least 2 or 3 sentences for each section)
Hair description: Cedric's hair is...interesting, to say the least. Most of it is fairly dark while the bangs are silvery-white. Some might assume the bangs are a sign of aging but actually, he's had them since he was a child. A common theory is that they were the result of a spell or potion gone wrong.
Facial description/mood/expressions: Cedric is a man of many expressions but his default seems to be exasperation. His dark eyes are usually half-lidded and his thin mouth is either turned down or pulled to the side. His most noticeable feature, by far, is his nose, which he's prone to crinkling, turning up, and occasionally injuring. Stress and age has brought about a few lines on his face, particularly under his eyes and the corners of his mouth, and he has a rather pasty complexion, no doubt from spending too much time in his
Clothing style: Cedric is generally clad in a long, dark purple robe that tends to get singed from misfired spells and explosions. He also wears a large yellow bow-tie, brown finger-less gloves, black breeches, grey stockings, and pointy black shoes. Some might say he's the typical sorcerer, others might say he's a fashion disaster. Personally, I'd say both.
Body build: Cedric is incredibly skinny and stringy, a purple beanpole if there ever was. His limbs are like four broomsticks and his middle is thicker, though not by much. His robe is almost swallowing his frame.
Any unique traits (optional): Aside from his prominent nose, Cedric is rarely seen without his wand, which supplies most of his magic as well as his mishaps. He also has a habit of sighing, breaking into maniacal laughter, breaking things in general, and giving way to exclamations such as, "Merlin's mushrooms!" and "Neptune's nettles!"
Original character analysis (In your own words and please be thorough)
Personality: Cedric has always had a bit of a complex. Growing up the son of the renowned sorcerer Goodwin the Great put him in a tough position. Not only did he have to live up to his father's expectations but the entire kingdom's as well and that fed and still feeds into his need to be the best. Obtaining power seems to be his greatest ambition as well as his greatest downfall and it shows in many of his schemes. More often than not, they blow up in his face, figuratively and literally.
Cedric is known for being rather dramatic and that's putting it mildly. It's not uncommon to find him pacing through his lair and ranting to his faithful pet Wormwood about the nerve of King Roland and how he'll take over Enchancia someday. It's a villain thing, you know. However, when in the presence of the king, he has a tendency to stammer and shrink, nerves being the primary cause of his spells going awry. For as much as Cedric boasts of his wonder and brilliance, he's deeply insecure, not at all helped by the fact that King Roland and others never fail to point out his incompetence.
In truth, Cedric really craves respect more than power, though he certainly wouldn't object to either. To be acknowledged for his magical skills and deeds, particularly when they go well, would be too wonderful for words. However, most of the time, the only person who seems to recognize his greatness, albeit in that annoyingly endearing way of hers, is Princess Sofia. The same girl who frequently ruins his 'evil' plans, oddly enough. That being said, in his heart of hearts, he doesn't despise the little princess as he once did. He has grown to see her as a friend. In fact, she's probably his only one, besides Wormwood.
History: Cedric was born to a distinguished family of sorcerers, his parents being Goodwin the Great and Winifred the Wise. His earliest memories include working as an apprentice for his father and being coddled by his mother, which the latter still does to this day. His father was stern at times, but well-meaning, always trying to steer him in the right direction while his mother believed he could do no wrong. Funnily enough, she even encouraged him to do wrong, another habit that has yet to die out. That and his father's constant urging to be a do-gooder.
When Cedric was around seven years old, he began to attend sorcery school, aspiring to be as great as his parents, especially his father. In spite of having the drive and desire to learn, he was incredibly unsure of himself and accident-prone, swiftly earning a reputation for being a klutz. This reputation followed him through the next decade and a half, in which he spent of his time holed up inside and buried in his studies, perhaps to distract himself from the fact that he had no friends. One of the few bright spots in his lonely adolescence was when he learned how to turn a rock into a raven, which most likely brought his dear pet Wormwood into existence.
As Cedric reached adulthood, he had yet to shake his insecurities or his tendency for mistakes, though he had developed a certain bitterness and cunning to go along with them. As soon as Goodwin the Great stepped down, Cedric began serving the king, Roland the Second, who had recently taken his father's place as well. Much like Cedric's magical skills, their relationship was rickety, the king rarely hesitating to harp on him and his setbacks, comparing him to his father all the while. It was enough to drive Cedric off the deep-end, for he had been hearing the same things over and over for ages, never getting any respect from his peers or superiors. Thus, this began a near-endless scheme to take over Enchancia and rule all, especially those who laughed at or doubted him.
Were it not for the arrival of irritatingly adorable little girl...

RP SAMPLE:
As usual, Cedric was having a perfectly miserable day, hardly helped by the fact that he hadn't the slightest idea where he was. He stopped by a curious sight, a magnificent mountain through which a waterfall gushed, forming into the longest moat he had ever seen. Rather than filled with alligators or crocodiles or anything of the like, it was filled with people, most of whom were screaming and laughing, carried along by strange log-like boats.
His curiosity heightening, Cedric drew nearer to the mountain, weaving through the bustling crowd, all but blind to the bizarre stares he was getting. Now where were all those people going and what or who was at the top of that mountain? Well, whoever it was, they wouldn't be there for long! If he couldn't take over Enchancia, perhaps this place was the next best thing!
But why stop at the mountain? Why not claim the castle too? And those delightful little stands that sold the mouse-shaped goodies? Oh yes, this place would be his, all his and at last, he would shout to the rooftops and beyond, declaring himself King Cedric the--
SPLASH!
"--Great," Cedric finished flatly, trying to ignore the giggles surrounding him. Sopping wet from head to toe, he gave a sniff, his hair plastered to his forehead, his lip curled with dismay. With another sniff, he turned and skulked away, deciding to dry off and resume his evil plotting elsewhere.
