Mr. Incredible proved that he wasn't one to let things slide by. He would argue and defend himself right back, even if it was against a girl. It wasn't what the southern woman was used to, but Helen kind of liked that he would defend what he would have to say. It proved that he was passionate, just as much as she was; she couldn't argue about that. His point was pretty valid, though she hoped that he would understand her side of it. "Well, it's not every day I get to hear it go both ways equally!" Elastigirl defended herself with a shrug of her shoulders, referring to the fact that men now a days don't usually display that amount of importance on women - not really - unless it was for some underlying reason. Most girls were still seen as inferior. They were never allowed to be managers, doctors, lawyers, or be regarded as anything of high position just because of their gender. Helen, like a few other women that fought for their equality, was definitely ahead of her time, but it was nice to see that Mr. Incredible wasn't too far off in that respect. She smiled up at him then, though she mildly wondered if he said that he truly believed in being equal among genders and wasn't just saying things just to schmooze. It was really charming to see a guy about equality. It was truly a rarity. "Oh really? And who says that I'm going to wait for a call? If there's any trouble, you can count on me being there, Mr. Incredible." She replied confidently with a determined smirk tilting one side of her smile. Deep down, the superheroine was finding this guy more impressive the longer she stayed with him, but it was just that: impressive. Nothing more than that. Anything Edna had ever said, she was dead wrong about. In the end of the day, Mr. Incredible made it clear that he only worked alone and Helen was only going to look out after her freedom. So, the stealthy superheroine slipped away back to her own apartment, where she woke up early morning for a mission flight that she had to make.
---Next Day---
The XS1 was an experimental airplane that was unlike anything ever seen before. It was most assuredly still top secret among government officials, but this jet was very much every like the rockets that have tried to go to the moon. With it's great fuel capacity, it was the first of it's time to exceed the speed of sound with 1,600 miles per hour! Let's just say, seeing it wasn't enough to actually pilot it. What an experience! Being told to experiment it was more than Helen could ask for. With a whirl of her airplane, Helen did a spiral dive and was able to keep it level in no time at all! It was great quality fun with Snug as her co-pilot, who was always up for the latest jets, though was always exercising caution about the experimental ones. It was a nice balance to have with Helen's confident, impulsiveness. They made a great team ever since she had saved him from that plane crash. He definitely owed her one, but Helen wasn't about to use it against him anytime soon. She never asked for anything that she couldn't just get for herself.
Even in her secret identity, Helen Truax still tried to be heroic upon being called upon on a mission to pilot a plane to help rescue some soldiers that were in need of being transported back to safety. Unfortunately, women weren't allowed to be on the front lines of battle around this time period, but she settled for helping in any way she could as a pilot; she could find her fight own frontlines when she would don her super suit. After another safe landing of the plane, Snug had asked her about going out to celebrate with the rest of the boys for the evening while Helen was listening to the radio transmission in the plane. "..Hostages?" She pressed her hand against the earbud of her aviation headset upon hearing about a robbery with hostages involved. "I hafta take care of some things.. I'm takin' this.. Bye, Snug!" Once donned in her white and crimson supersuit, Elastigirl hopped on a motorcycle that she borrowed from him and zoomed out of the airfield and into the streets of the city littered with cars that she rapidly passed around. Helen learned a valuable lesson from Mr. Incredible the other day. She needed to match his speed if she wanted to get to crime scenes first; and given the fact that she wasn't a full time super because she was also a pilot, she had a reason to be all the more competitive about it.
Speaking of which, there was the famous Incredibile now, trying to get to the crime scene first! Not this time. The flexible superheroine zoomed alongside of it in her motorcycle, tossed the muscular blonde super a flirtatious wink by his side of the window, and then pulled up the front side of her motorcycle up in the air before speeding up passed him and landing it back down. Her red hair behind her pink headband billowed behind her as she bravely squeezed her motorcycle through the small spaces in between the cars with ease given the small frame of her motorcycle. Upon finally reaching the crime scene, Elastigirl ran up to check around the area, but didn't see anything destroyed. The superheroine's brown eyes widened in shock behind her crimson mask before turning to find that Mr. Incredible had pulled in a minute or so later. She had actually gotten there first?! Wow! She had actually gotten there first! With a smug, triumphant smirk tossed at him, the superheroine used her powers of flexibility to jump up high into the air and grabbed hold of a ledge while the other hand pulled the air vent out from the side of the building. Extending her arms all the way down to the floor, she had placed the air vent door gently down on the ground to avoid being heard, before using her flexible body to squeeze through the air vent tunnel of the building, where she disappeared through.
If only it were possible for Elastigirl to know which villain it was that did the evil deed, but the southern newcomer didn't even think twice or ask questions to find out. While Count Von Ruthless was monologuing about how triumphant he was, the superheroine stealthily continued to meander through the air vents and knocked out all the guards one by one with a stretch of her limbs from above with no questions asked before finally knocking out the villain with a stretch of her foot being delivered right to his head, sending him unconscious enough for her to drag him to the window and using her elastic arms as a means of arresting him tightly to prevent his escape, she was able to stretch herself down to the police awaiting to take care of the rest. One by one the unconscious henchmen went down the window enveloped in the flexible woman's arms while they were practically bungeed about 9 stories down. Whether they awakened from their consciousness in the midst of feeling the breeze hit them as they were being transferred 9 stories down mattered not, for they were too afraid of being threatened to be dropped 9 stories if they did think about escaping - the only one that would be able to survive that height was her using her powers of flexibility, so she was not in the least bit afraid of that happening.
Finally, one the area was secured, Elastigirl was able to free the hostages and help them down to safety. "Any time!" She would say when the hostages thanked her for her heroic service, and gave them a warm wave before turning away to head out again. Elastigirl wasn't about any kind of fancy heroic words or gestures. The impulsive yet simple woman was just content to get the job done. With a stretch of her arms, she jumped high into the air and swung herself onto the edge of a building nearby, where she made a front flip and landed on her thigh high glittering boots perfectly at the edge of the building, facing the direction of the crime that she had just rescued and watching the ecstatic faces of the families of the hostages embrace each other with relief that they were able to survive something so frightening. Her breathing was quickened after the adrenaline rush that she had just experienced in that rescue, and after fixing her hair within her pink headband, her hands slid over the curves of her hips as a pleased smile spread across her lips as she watched them from below. She was happy to have been able to get this moment at the end of the day and proud that she didn't have to take half the credit from another super either by taking advantage of the criminal being distracted by another super, like she did to supers like Mr. Incredible before. As someone that didn't get to have this as a full time job, it was even more rewarding when she did get to resolve a crime scene to herself. She won it fair and square. It was a pretty proud and rewarding moment for her.
"You know, we could always 'split the credit'.."The southern super remarked aloud with a small smile playing on her lips, her back still turned away from him as she watched the people down below."..Mr. Incredible.." She finished, cooing his name in a soft, sultry voice when she turned to face the tall muscular tower of a man that stood behind her with a playful smile. She was, of course, quoting what he had said to her when they first met, playfully tossing it back at him in case he was thinking about sharing the credit and having them both fight along side of each other instead of beating each other at crime scenes. She wondered if he would consider her a worthy super enough for him to fight along side of her someday. She was certainly opened to it.. just because he was an equally amazing super as well, of course.
