Who am I? Just a conscience!
Introduce yourself
Hey, howdy, hey! The name's MAGGIE, and I wished upon a star from ADS. My other imaginary friends include TRIPLETS ETC. JUMBA and I are so very eager to join the Worlds of Disney circle of life!
Character basics
Character name: Dr. Jumba Jookiba
Age: Middle to late 30s
Species: Alien
Birthplace: Planet Kweltikwan
Movie: Lilo and Stitch, Stitch has a Glitch, Stitch the Movie.
Custom title: Evil Genius Scientist/Uncle
Why'd you pick this character? Jumba's a hoot and easily my favorite character from the whole movie franchise and series.
Character appearance (try to get at least 2 or 3 sentences for each section)
Hair description: Jumba only has three tiny hairs on his purple head. He claims to have once had luxurious flowing hair, but an experiment destroyed it.
Facial description/mood/expressions: A round, pudgy face with two small eyes and two larger eyes set near those, his large nose is set in the middle of his two biggest eyes and face. Large mouth with four teeth. Jumba's look is often scheming, but of the not too evil variety these days.
Clothing style: A yellow Hawaiian shirt with pink flowers that is two small for him, and on which the buttons are clinging for dear life. Purple shorts and often sun glasses, mustache, and hat for full disguise.
Body build: Everything about Jumba's build is round. Over weight, with two large, round, feet and pudgy hands with three fingers and a thumb. His two ears tuck in and are almost hidden by his collar. He is various shades of purple and pink.
Any unique traits (optional): doesn't have traditional toes either, but rather flat, rounded feet with a few toenails for toes.
Original character analysis (In your own words and please be thorough)
Personality:
Jumba prides himself on being the most evil genius scientist he knows. Far superior to his one-time partner, Dr. Hämsterviel. Even when they were both on the side of being Evil, Jumba was naïve enough to not see that Hämsterviel was using him even then. His own pride leads him to view such a thing as unlikely to impossible. Partly due to his many achievements, and even before them, Jumba holds a view of himself as unstoppable, or tries to. Even when this shield goes down, mostly due to Lilo or Pleakley's efforts, it doesn't do so easily.
Behind all this, he is caring, and holds a moral sense, even in the beginning, that easily allowed him to agree to help 626 rescue Lilo. Though he says he's in it, and does all he does, for Evil, Jumba's main aim is causing as much chaos as he can, more than pure evil.
Partly from the place and temperament of a little kid who just likes to watch things explode! Yet Jumba is not a little kid, but rather super intelligent alien scientist, so his explosions tend to be big.
Though he only uses it every now and again, and mostly against Hämsterviel or Pleakley, Jumba has a pretty snappy wit about him, that he may have intentionally or unintentionally put in 625, and which he used to avoid Hämsterviel's interrogation.
He is also open minded for an evil genius scientist and doesn't seem to mind being on Earth too much, investigating its own technology.
History:
From the stage of newborn, it was obvious that baby Jumba Jookiba had a superior intellect. He pointed to the outfit his mother was about to pick out for him and made disgusted faces like he didn't like it until she picked one he did. This marked the pattern for his childhood, always being a step (or five) ahead of other kids, always knowing best. Jumba's childhood wasn't especially evil, his parents were normal, hardworking aliens on Kweltikwan, but for being the smartest kid on his whole block, Jumba didn't use it to become the class mockery, like some would, but more "that troublesome kid" and the class show-off. His father had to buy five separate Kweltikwan garages, because he kept blowing them up with experimentations; not his later grand ones.
Thankfully, for Jumba being so bright, his parents were able to ship him off to Evil Genius University a bit early, Jumba stating he wanted to go there and become a great evil scientist! It was in his classes that he met and befriended a tiny gerbil-like alien, Jacques von Hämsterviel, a youth from a rich background. The two soon formed up the basis of their partnership, even in college experiments, Jumba would put in the know-how, and Hämsterviel would fund it (with calls home those first years and before they graduated and he had a rightful claim to his money).
The only other interesting thing to happen to Jumba while in college (and both interests coming back to bite him) was that another young college student of his species caught his attention by flattering his evil genius inventing. Unbeknownst to Jumba, she only wanted to be connected to fame.
So by graduation from Evil Genius University, Jumba had both a love interest and lab partner!
Which betrayed him first was up for debate, and both relationships started to go downhill pretty fast. After marriage, and moving to the planet Turo, where Jumba set up his lab, he found out his new wife had an annoying habit of complaining about the very thing to have drawn her to him, and all the time he spent on his evil genius experimenting. Apparently she wanted to say she was connected to an important scientist but she also wanted him to not spend so much time on it! "Couldn't he let Hämsterviel do most of the work, and he just take the credit?". That was a sore topic to bring up! Jumba already felt that was what was coming from the relationship on Hämsterviel's end! Every time they were in the spotlight for some grand achievement it was "I did, I did, I did" out of the gerbil. (Jumba had at first called him that in jest, now he used it in criticism; as well as came up with Hamsterwheel). From behind, smiling for the camera, Jumba would glower and mutter "I funded...I funded...I stole!".
He of course came to Hämsterviel with these complaints, and as their (or more his!) very first experiment, 001 was mocked in the newspapers for being a dud. "I am doing all of the work and you are taking all of the credit!". Hämsterviel heard him out and tried harder, blaming all of 001's faults on Jumba! That was the first time Jumba tackled him on stage.
Thankfully that broadcast only went to select channels of the galaxy. The two still had to keep actual work on genetic experiments out of the public, but Jumba and Hämsterviel's combined ego would not allow them to say nothing of it, to Jumba's downfall. Once word got out about their experiments, Hämsterviel disappeared quietly and quickly, taking his helpful bail money and leaving Jumba facing the Galactic Council alone.
Jumba had worked up to 626 experiments, each with unique capabilities, by that point, but thankfully only 626 was brought as evidence, Jumba managing to dehydrate and hide the others. Not that 626 wasn't proof enough of Jumba's evil work. Jumba was both proud and not of how well he had worked out (and thought maybe his hidden worry for his creation about his molecules not being fully charged when the police barged in would come to naught). They of course found Jumba (only Jumba) guilty of Illegal Genetic Experimentation. That Big Dummy Gantu actually calling his creation an Abomination.
Jumba was zipped off to jail, which was of course boring, and made all the worse by the only thing he was given to read being newspapers about his imprisonment, which called him an Idiot Scientist. The Grand Council woman came back to his cell rather quickly, not that it, or her reason for being there surprised him. 626 had escaped, as Jumba had prepared him to do, being impossible to capture or stop. The Grand Council woman had a deal, if he would retrieve 626 (and take annoying Earth Expert Pleakley with him, as that was the planet he'd landed on) he would be given his freedom. Jumba agreed.
Pleakley had all manner of concerns for the Earth inhabitants, he couldn't shoot them or be seen by them. Jumba wasn't all for shooting the little Earth girl 626 had attached himself to just for the sake of it, his focus being on his creation and capture, but Pleakley's incessant rambling was rather annoying on top of his mission. They were on an island where 626's full capacity couldn't even be unleashed for Jumba's amused watching!
626 thwarted them at every turn, yet once Jumba and Pleakley's incompetence in catching him got them fired, Jumba felt they had a chance as now they didn't have to follow silly Earth Expert rules! Jumba confronted 626 in Little Earth girl's house, ultimately destroying it. Yet after fleeing, and when a larger Earth girl found them right as Jumba managed to capture 626, after Gantu kidnapped the Little Girl, Lilo, Jumba was surprisingly gentle in explaining they couldn't interfere and were only after 626, as well as quick to change his mind and agree to help at 626's prompting.
Using the space ship they'd used to get to Earth, Jumba and Pleakley helped rescue Lilo. 626, now called Stitch by the Little Girl, had formed a bond in all his at first hiding behind her and his changed manner, helped the Grand Council woman decided to let him stay with his Earth Family, Jumba and Pleakley coming along since she wouldn't let them on her ship to go home.
Jumba helped rebuild Lilo and her sister, Nani's, house, even adding some fancy elevators and sky roofs, and had a pretty good set up with them, but he didn't consider himself a part of their Ohana, or even himself as having one, as he told Stitch later, they were all alone in vast universe.
Yet Jumba still cared for Stitch, and his Earth family, and disguised himself as her uncle to help Lilo get out of trouble with a teacher, as well as worked hard to try to save 626 when a glitch caused his molecules to malfunction, though Lilo ultimately saved him with nothing but love.
Jumba's view on his place in the Earth Ohana was changed after Gantu kidnapped him on behalf of his old partner, Hämsterviel, and in an attempt to get the other 625 experiments he had worked on, and which Jumba had managed to secure and hide. Lilo and Stich, of course, saved the day, and him, though it left 625, Jumba's sandwich making experiment, with Gantu and the others spread all over the island for Lilo and Stitch to try to re-find. But all of the experience secured in Jumba's mind that there were people who would go through trouble to get him back and secured in him as well his place as Uncle Jumba; and Pleakley wasn't a bad friend to be on Earth with either.
