Yzma (most times) had no problem with “biding time”, and not if it served a purpose. She could sneak and spy with the best of them...but man it got boring!
Thankfully, today, she didn’t have to spend too long in the shadows at the side of the building, cleverly away from surveillance, and watching a troop of pathetic. This theme park she was stuck in just seemed to be people too fat for the rides walking by with food to make them fatter!
And people accused her of being evil!
Finally the one she was waiting on arrived. Yzma smiled. “Ah, Dr. Jumba Jookiba!”, she said, stepping out with a smirk, and held out a slim hand to shake, “I’ve heard, and seen, quite a bit about you! Your...thing was delivering a potion when I came in”.
Yzma had put together the orange blob belonging to this scientist by a bit of asking about.
”Quite the genius are we?”, she smiled an attempted coy and flattering smile as she sauntered over. Yzma could have gone on, to her purpose here, but waited to see how these seeds of flattery planted.

Jumba hummed a bit of a tune, just one he had picked up around the parks (and as they were piping music in everywhere), as he returned to the lab. There was, and had been, movement all about him, and within Tomorrowland, but as he got closer to where his actual lab was, back a bit, away from prying eyes and with plenty of ropes and rails to keep it so, he noticed worrying movement from around the side of the building!
And it wasn't his Experiments or either of the girls or ice queen!
“Ah, Dr. Jumba Jookiba!”
The...person said as they stepped out. At first, Jumba wasn’t quite sure what he was looking at, and he had seen all manner of aliens!
“I’ve heard, and seen, quite a bit about you! Your...thing was delivering a potion when I came in”
The use of the word potion was wrong for what it had been, and as Jumba's mind made sense of the words and caught up. "Are meaning 032; and was not a potion". Defense had him stating, yet like so many times, he wasn't sure if he was defending his Experiment or himself. It was a lot of times a both sort of situation; though Jumba regretting giving her even this much information on his goings-on after he'd spoken.
He also did not owe this startlingly ugly woman any sort of explanation, but the use of the word thing had rubbed him wrong. And other things. "And what are you knowing of Jumba?", he asked pointedly, frowning suspiciously.
The space that was so far between them was very acceptable, and Jumba had not shaken her hand, and so her closing that space was less so as she stepped up...
”Quite the genius are we?”
Jumba knew flattery. He usually responded to it, and to say he didn't want to brag even here would be a lie...
He glanced his guest over suspiciously again. He wasn’t sure what this exactly was, but he knew he wanted no part! He’d already done the Toxic Partnership. Both kinds!
Changing his plan, and deciding to get them both as far away from his lab as he could (he would deal with beefing up security to deal with loiterers later) Jumba turned and began to walk off, but closely watching if she did so next. If not, he wasn't leaving. "Look, whatever are selling, am not wanting to buy! Good day to you", he waved her off.
Aha! She had struck right!, as his words clarifying he knew of the thing and potion proved. His not agreeing with calling it a potion was irrelevant.
“And what are you knowing of Jumba?"
Yzma smiled, ”I’ve only been here a few days, and already I have heard all about your genius inventions”, Yzma almost purred her complement ingratiating (though she’d left the cat problem behind her). ”They say you’re one to contend with, smartest mind of the park, can do no wrong”, it was a shame the Experiment 032 she’d met yesterday wasn’t around for the lie fest Yzma was presenting.
She’d heard of Jumba only. She made up all the compliments.
”I’m someone of prestige myself. Empress Yzma”, he wouldn’t know any better if she just gave herself a title for while here...and she had once been.
All of her flattery didn’t seem to be working! He brushed her aside and walked off! For a moment, and while his back was turned, Yzma scowled; then she smiled and cut around in front of him.
”Oh, I’m not selling anything”, Yzma laughed like the very idea was absurd, ”No, I’m here to present you with opportunity!”. Catching herself, she gave a giggle that, if she was still a teen, might have been cute, but now raised more alarm bells.
”I suppose that is selling”, she admitted, ”You see, in addition to being a beautiful Empress, beloved by many, I am also a genius sorceress! I can make a potion to do most anything! And so I was thinking, genius to genius, maybe we could form a sort of alliance; I share my work you share what you’ve found so far...and let me borrow your lab of course”. Yzma tried to place it as casually as possible.

His question won him an answer. Typically how it went, but Jumba wasn't so sure he wanted her answer. An unusual thing, to not take flattery, but she was laying all of it on so thick, the scientist was able to detect a whiff of the lies even without his lie-detector here!
Her saying someone, one of the Cast Members no less, had said he 'could do no wrong' really put a whiff in the air! He might have bought the rest.
Still, Jumba just waited out what this was. Why, he wasn't sure, and when everything about her manner was reminding him of a certain Hamster-like alien. After she shared her title, and more boasting, Jumba figured he'd stuck around long enough. He wasn't known for doing well with high authority anyway, as the whole Grand Council could tell her.
She cut around in front of him, though. At least his other aim was being achieved and they were steadily moving away from his lab.
”You see, in addition to being a beautiful Empress, beloved by many, I am also a genius sorceress! I can make a potion to do most anything! And so I was thinking, genius to genius, maybe we could form a sort of alliance; I share my work you share what you’ve found so far...and let me borrow your lab of course”
Jumba almost rolled his eyes half-way through the spiel; he did not care about whatever competition she may...
He paused at that last. ”Borrow...lab?”, he let the audacity sink in for a moment, then frowned. ”Was knowing it!”, and he was a little ashamed he’d listened to her this long.
”No!”, he said emphatically, ”You be keeping grubby fingerless-mittens away from Jumba’s lab!”. Though he knew 032 was not near, Jumba took a moment to remind himself of this. Though the Experiment would have been useful in shutting this woman down, it was now good he wasn’t around, as Jumba well placed some lies of his own!
”And for informing, Experiment 032 you were running into was Jumba’s programmed guard Experiment. Can laser incinerate being from ten...any pace! If need be, so be keeping distance. Will put you on list, and if you are coming around again, and not ashes, will have lab assistant make worse sandwich he can and feed to you! Which will still be too nice a sandwich for you!”.
That last part was true.
There and there! That should do it! And even if she was an Empress, Jumba didn't care about how rude he was being, no one was getting at his lab!
Yzma's placating smile fell as he answered. Very defensively.
He could have just said no!
Her arms crossed and she let some of her own anger show. At her carefully crafted plan not working. Did he have any idea how much effort was involved in coming up with these schemes anyway?! The least he could do was not shoot it down so quickly!
She didn't take to threats well either! She was the one who did any threatening!
"Will put you on list, and if you are coming around again, and not ashes, will have lab assistant make worse sandwich he can and feed to you! Which will still be too nice a sandwich for you!"
"Oh yeah! Well maybe I'll have mine beat you up!", she pointed a slim finger in Dr. Jookiba's face. Her own statement wasn't fully true (but not as much of a lie as before), Kronk was only a lab assistant every now and again, and as far as Yzma was aware, he wasn't here to beat up people for her. Nor would he probably do it. But all of that was also things this big oaf didn't need to know!
"Fine!", she went on, gesturing, "Like I need your stupid lab anyway, probably infested with more abominations like that one! I'll find a better one, and you're not invited to ever come over either!". To Yzma's mind, as she clenched her fists and stormed off, she had won the encounter, though Dr. Jumba probably thought he had as well.
Panchito: It's nothing like I expected, but I'm still anticipating good things.

Nick Wilde: But so far from what I read, it is good. The most immersive Disney ever did. Cast members actually having a backstory and name in the setting, characters constantly interacting with the guests in-character...
Jun 8, 2019 8:49:33 GMT -5
Nick Wilde: Guests actually being encouraged to make their own story, and play a part in the land..
Jun 8, 2019 8:50:01 GMT -5
Nick Wilde: And also has an app to allow guests to actually do things more.
Jun 8, 2019 8:54:23 GMT -5
Nick Wilde: Of course, I imagine our characters checking it out in it's full glory.
