A Monster in Epcot (Open to All)

The first day of college. There would be an opening ceremony. He would get a room mate. And hopefully, if he did well, he might graduate..and have many close friends.

Those were the thoughts of Randall Boggs, or Randy as some might call him. The young monster carried his school bag on his back, and dragged a larger rolling bag behind him that contained his belongings. He was nervous due to many reasons, but he was trying his best to hold those fears back. He knew he'd get a room mate, and that would be the first friend he'd have... if they were nice to him. That was all he ever wanted, to be something greater and to have popularity. Perhaps, the next four years will let him do that...

A larger monster bumped into him. The force knocked Randy's glasses off of his face, and onto the ground. There was no apology... that was to be expected. Randall just sighed and shook his head, "Doing well already..." He muttered to himself and reached down to pick up the purple rimmed glasses, "All I wanted was something to change.. It feels like high school all over again..."

When he put his glasses back on, things did change. Drastically. He was no longer inside a hallway of a dorm, but instead, he was outside. The skies were clear and the air was warm. But, Randall didn't have a chance to look around. Because, the first thing he noticed, and the first thing that scared him...was humans. Humans, everywhere. Adults, teenagers...children. They were hundreds of them! And seeing this, Randall dropped his bags, and started to panic. His breathing increased as his eyes looked around. And the next thing he did...was hide in a nearby bush as fast as he could, leaving his bags in the open.

"W-w-what? H-how?" He asked himself as he poked his head out from underneath the bushes. He wasn't ready for this! He didn't know how he got to the human world, but he wasn't ready! He was supposed to have classes, supposed to take tests! Was it fate? Did fate bring him here, because he simply wanted his life to change?

[Dash Parr]

Dashiell Robert Parr had complete charge of his little brother, Jack-Jack, today! Ok...not complete charge, Mom was still around somewhere nearby--and not that after the scare of losing Vi then getting her back again, Dash could blame her knowing both her boys were nearby--but Dash was also trusted to wander a bit with his brother and just have fun Boy Time!

And he was in his Super suit! So he could have all the fun he wanted and not have to worry about showing off too much of his powers!

Even with as little as he was, Jack-Jack was a fun little brother, his own powers aside even!

And Future World was a neat place to explore! It had almost the same sort of tech as Dash was used to! But different also, and even if display, for the most part. Dash could also make his own fun quite easily.

"Alright Jack-Jack, ya ready?", he peered around at his brother in his little park stroller. Then got around back again and did an announcer voice, "Parr Racer ready for launch!". In his time in the parks, Dash had of course pushed the Speeding thing more times than he felt it worth his mom's while to try to keep up with, but the Speedway Incident had been all the way last August!

Not that he hadn't done things since...still Mom trusted him (and had reminded him plenty of times!) not to run in normal clothes and not to make trouble as a Super.

But even Normal Running, Dash could make this fun.

"On your mark...get set...", Dash gave little false pushes to the stroller with each word, "Go!". He shouted and started running across the open spot of pavement. Under normal feet power, but still dodging and weaving and making it fun for his brother. "They avoid an obstacle! And another one! Oh no, oil spill!!". The "oil" was mustard, but Dash played it up, turning around like they were spinning before rushing on ahead again.

Along his way he spotted a purple...something or other dart into the bushes. He ignored it for a moment, being used to Reuben and Fibber, and almost thought maybe another Experiment like thing was here now too, but then recalled, even if so, the scientist didn't know about it! He slowed slightly and went over to the bush.

The head popped up again! Muttering something. Dash glanced to Jack-Jack, then back to the...whatever he was. "Hey...you ok?", he checked.

There were still quite a lot of places that the one year old super had yet to see of the world. Being pushed in a stroller by his older brother was a lot of fun because it enabled him to see places, kind of like a car ride would except there were no windows blocking the view from his car seat. This was especially more fun with Dash because his older brother sometimes pushed a little faster than his mom would have! His mom liked to make a lot of stops, but it was okay because he was usually given attention with those stops. This time, however, Dash was taking him a little away from mom, which meant that it was really not going to stop! Jack-Jack may not know many things yet as a baby, but he did identify Dash as never stopping.

"Alright Jack-Jack, ya ready?"

"Mm!!" Jack-Jack gurgled with excitement, wiggling his feet in the stroller.

"Parr Racer ready for launch!"

"Pacahradalamm!" Jack-Jack did his best at repeating what Dash had said, but it was said with so much enthusiasm with a tiny narrowing of his ginger eyebrows over his blue, determined eyes that stared straight ahead of them in anticipation. Then he paused when he realized he heard "lunch," and understood that to mean food. "..Euh?" He blinked his large blue eyes in confusion. Was it time to eat already? 

"On your mark...get set..."

Jack-Jack knew this one! That meant that his older brother was going to run really fast! He heard it enough times in the races and just in general when Dash felt like being competitive, which meant that it was used often enough! "GUH!" The ginger baby responded eagerly with a wiggling of his hands and feet in the stroller, the excitement building as Dash did his fake pushes, before suddenly Dash said Go and the stroller was instantly pushed like it felt when they were in their daddy's car!

The ginger super shrieked in excitement and burst into giggles as the stroller made its many twists and turns, just like the car did! "Pih!" The one year old boy tried to echo 'spill,' but couldn't get very far with his pronunciation when he burst into giggles again, wiggling his hands and feet enthusiastically. He was having so much fun! They should do this all the time!

Suddenly, his older brother did one thing that even the baby didn't expect to do so suddenly: He slowed down! Then stopped in front of a bush.  

Jack-Jack blinked in curiosity in his large blue eyes, wondering what his older brother was up to, until he noticed the purple thing poking it's head out! "Puhpah!" He gurgled upon seeing the head pop out again, bursting into a bright smile bearing his four little teeth as he pointed his little finger at it. He didn't know what it was, he just knew that it was purple. 

Dash was sounding like a superhero or like his mom when he asked the purple thing if he was okay. Jack-Jack smiled, watching his older brother in action, when something caught the corner of his eyes, causing him to turn his head to notice the bags on the floor. "Dah!" He pointed to the opened bags with a curious smile. He didn't know it belonged to the purple thing, but he just liked to point things that were curious to him and he thought his brother would find it interesting too!

Randy soon realized that he already attracted the attention of someone. It was a boy who was playing around with a baby in a stroller, racing it around as if it was a car. However, the boy stopped, and spotted Randy just as he brought his head out. Realizing that the boy was coming over, Randy would yelp..and unintentionally activated his camouflage. Randall's entire body color shifted, adjusting itself to blend into the environment flawlessly. Only thing: his glasses were still on, and visible as the boy approached and asked him if he was okay.

"P-please go away. There is no one here!" He said, before he pulled himself back into the bushes. Randall curled up into a ball and shivered in panic. He hoped the boy would just go away. He didn't want any child to touch him. They were toxic! He would die within hours if he was exposed! He then heard the baby babble something, and point..at his bags. Clear evidence someone was here. And that someone was him. "I'm going to die. I'm going to die, and I don't even have anyone to help me.." Why was fate cruel?

[Dash Parr]

"Pacahradalamm!"

Dash grinned, it was so cute when Jack-Jack tried to copy words they said. Of course he wouldn't admit to this out-loud, or the word cute exactly; and that thought was also not to say Dash didn't think he was probably getting the words correct still! His baby brother was very smart! He just couldn't show it properly, not talking properly.

Still, Dash was convinced he'd sort of known more than he let on about all the trouble he caused when they were rescuing Mom and Dad.

"GUH!"

Dash laughed again, "You were paying attention at the track meets!", he half praised as they set off!

As they found the odd purple thing, it gave a sort of cry and...vanished! "Woah!", Dash exclaimed. The monster now had the misfortune to gain his full attention. Of course, if it was what he thought, and something like Reuben and Fibber, it probably wasn't too surprising it could vanish like Violet, but still impressive! Dash had yet to see an Experiment with powers like his or his family's!

"You can turn invisible, that's so cool!", Dash hopped over into the bushes, trying to walk closer to where he could only see the glasses now.

"P-please go away. There is no one here!"

"Ok, Nobody", Dash began with a grin, before noticing the tone that was said in. "Hey...it's ok...we won't hurt ya...", Dash went on, more gently.

"Dah!"

"Huh?", he turned and saw the bags on the ground. "Oh, good job, Jack-Jack!", he smiled, walking over to pick them up, "Here! Are these yours!", he handed them out.

John Jackson Parr raised his ginger eyebrows with a parting of his mouth upon seeing the purple animal disappear, but with his glasses remained much like it looked on Violet with her clothes. Not having much experience, the one year old had never seen anyone else do that from far away except Violet, everyone else usually only could disappear when they were close enough to play peekaboo with him. Uttering a coo of delight, the tiny baby wiggled his little legs in the stroller, excited to see the purple animal's invisible powers! It always made him happy when Violet played the disappearing game with him. Maybe the purple animal was, too!

"Ok, Nobody"

Jack-Jack blinked in surprise when he noticed that the purple animal was completely gone, his glasses were no longer showing! The ginger haired baby glanced over at his older brother when he said this, then copied Dash's grin as the baby returned his attention over to the bush. The baby recognized the tone to be playful. Afterwards, the baby recognized the tone that Dash spoke was a lot more gentle. He blinked his blue eyes out of curiosity, wondering why that tone was used. Jack-Jack usually heard it when he was scared or sad. Wasn't the purple monster playing a game with them?

"Oh, good job, Jack-Jack!"

"Mm!" Jack-Jack cooed contently with a bright smile upon hearing praise from his older brother, recognizing that very well, especially after spending enough time around Auntie Edna. His older brother lifting the bags and talking to the bush made him realize that it was for the purple animal. Then, he smiled up at the bush, but frowned in dissatisfaction when the purple animal was no where to be seen, much like he felt when he didn't think his mama wasn't paying attention to him from behind the funny glasses she wore back on the boat. Jack-Jack glanced over at his older brother carrying the bags, wondering what he was going to do before he gurgled impatiently. "Ehm..Mmn..!" In an instant, Jack-Jack suddenly teleported himself on the ground in front of the stroller before crawling towards the bush. ZZZZT! His tiny hands phased through the bush first, before phasing his head through the bush and peering around for the purple animal, trying to get him to come out with a convincing: "Bahbuhbuh.."

Randall didn't respond to Dash's request. Instead, he just curled up into a ball, wondering what he will do next. He had to stay hidden. That was what monsters did when they were stuck here. Stay hidden, find a way back home. Maybe, someone will come to rescue him? The CDA? His parents? No...CDA, most likely. They are more prepared for this. Randall's mind kept on going as he thought of every single little scenario, and the more he thought, the more he worried. Was he going to get out of this? He hoped...

And then, he saw the baby poke his head through the bush. No, not through. It literally MATERALIZED through the branches and leaves, as if they were nothing! If a child was dangerous, then a baby...

"Ahhhhhhhh!" Randall screamed at the top of his lungs and darted out of the bush. He only got three feet away, before he jumped over the railing, and crashed face first into the pavement. He was okay, of course. Monsters were could take a beating. But this blind rush left Randall in a daze, completely in clear view. The monster only groaned, as he was trying to figure out what happened...

Dash would probably never get tired of watching Jack-Jack copy his grins and such! He was such a good little brother; backing him up in everything he did! Of course Mom would tell him that meant he should behave more and be a better example...but Dash thought he was a fine example!


Maybe Jack-Jack hadn't meant to also connect the bags on the floor to the monster in the bushes, and had been just randomly pointing them out, but Dash preferred to think he was smart enough to have also made that connection!

"Ehm..Mmn..!"

That was the only clue Dash was given before his brother zapped from the stroller!

"No! Jack-Jack!", Dash tried to go after him. Babysitting did now have its challenges other older siblings didn't have to deal with, and his brother was able to make escapes other babies couldn't. Dash thought he was used to it by now.

"Ahhhhhhhh!"

It had the affect of getting the alien or whatever he was to come out, albeit to tumble on the ground. "Oh! Here, let me help you!", Dash bent and grabbed a purple arm to help the thing up, helpfully like Supers did!

Once the tiny baby poked his ginger sprouted head through the bushes, Jack Jack emitted a giggle at the funny face that the purple animal made. It was just like Violet's face when he appeared in her room in his red monster form! He liked funny faces and finding ways of laughing. Of course, Jack-Jack didn't know he was actually scaring the purple animal, especially since he wasn't even in his monster form this time.

"Buh.." In any case, the purple animal instantly fled through the bush, causing Jack-Jack to crawl out the bush again. As soon as he came out of the bushes, he sat down next to the bag in front of the bush, blinking his blue eyes with wonder as he watched Dash demonstrate what heroes do, by helping the purple animal off the ground. "Dah!" Jack-Jack did a clap of his hands approvingly with a bright smile, before he absentmindedly shoved a strap from the bookbag into his mouth to chew on just like he did to anything, even clothing - Auntie Edna's robes were the best when it came to that, though. It always felt better on his teeth when he had something to chew on.

Randy knew he was in trouble. More so than before! Alongside the pain of feeling the ground, he was now exposed to many humans, and many children. Monsters were supposed to be the sneaky types. Go in at night, scare the kid, get out before the parents knew what happened. And yet, here he was, being the one who was screaming instead of the kids! What kind of scarer was he? If he couldn't even control his own abilities and was stuck in a situation like this, then perhaps he was doomed from the start! Maybe he can still salvage this though, maybe....

He then felt someone touch him. It was the boy, who attempted to help him get up. Right away, Randy's panic went straight through the rough.

"Ah!" The monster backed up against the fence, his heart rate now skyrocketing, "Y-you touched me! A human child touched me!" He then slumped backwards, "I'm going to die." He grouned out.

In 30 minutes, he would be on the ground, breaking out in rashes, dying due to a child touching him. Oh what a humiliating way to go. Death by poisonous children! They would laugh at him, and probably mark his tombstone with 'Here lies Randall. Worst scarer in history'.

Jack-Jack clapped and seemed to back up and praise him doing a good job helping the alien up, or this was what Dash thought his little brother's reactions meant, and he prided himself on most times being able to "figure" Jack-Jack "out". The Superboy grinned, glancing back to the alien, and next frowning confused as he screamed and backed up. There weren't any bad guys around, Dash didn't know what the problem was.

Maybe aliens were as afraid of humans as they would be before becoming used to them, like Dash had, he pondered, but the alien went on to explain his problem.

"Y-you touched me! A human child touched me! I'm going to die."

He flopped backwards. "Hey...", Dash's voice was still calm and reassuring, but a bit hurried. "It's ok". Despite the thing's clear discomfort, he rushed up next to it, but didn't touch it again. He gave a small chuckle, "You're not gonna die, you're fine". Why did he think he was gonna die anyway?

Whilst chewing on the bookbag strap in his mouth, Jack Jack tilted his head over to Dash as he watched his older brother rush to the purple animal's side. Given that he turned a reddish-pink in his beast mode, he didn't know why Dash gave the purple monster attention. He didn't understand what was going on, but it seemed a lot like Violet when she got scared that one time he turned into his beast mode in her room. It was as if Dash had pulled a similar scary prank on the purple animal! Jack Jack couldn't help but gurgle a laugh out of amusement.  

Wanting the attention from his brother too, Jack-Jack spit out the bookbag strap and then crawled over to flop backwards out of his attempts to copy the purple monster's movements, "Guhbuh dah!" It was possible he attempted to copy the syllables for "gonna die" since it was uttered twice, but he failed in producing the desired sounds so it could have easily been meant for Dash to look at him. He was fine with the attention either way. After hearing Dash's chuckle when the purple animal said it only made Jack-Jack gurgle a laugh afterwards, as if he were playing pretend with the purple animal too.

Whilst laying down, the one year old's attention was easily distracted once his blue eyes caught the clouds in the sky, and then he noticed his feet up in the air, blocking his view of a part of the sky. His eyebrows narrowed humorously over his blue eyes with determination in his countenance, before he finally shoved his foot into his mouth for good measure.

The child said he wasn't going to die. What did a child know?! Were they even aware that they were toxic to monsters?!! Randall just fell to the ground and stayed there. Even if the child was trying to encourage him that he'd be fine, Randall doubted it. He was just going to lie here and accept his fate. That's it. End of the line. "That's what they all say. They all say it will be okay, only because they know it's not. Give them a false reassurance." He groaned and would soon roll onto his back. "Just...put me in a bush somewhere.... don't need to remember me."

How long did it take again? 30 minutes? 15, 10, 5? He only recalled the drills done in school. Quarantine yourself and then wait till the CDA comes in to peel the scales off, shower you, and then give you at least 10 different antibiotics. Then, you are stuck in a bubble for 15 days. But he has none of this, and he hopes the kid is decent enough to at least let him die without anyone else seeing him. He didn't even notice that his purple scales shifted to a sickly green, in response to his own thoughts.

Uh oh...Jack-Jack was starting to act up and copy the purple alien...

Dash recognized from that smile Jack-Jack got when he was copying stuff; a lot of times things Dash himself did. Not that Dash saw that as a problem, or knew quite how much could be counted as his “fault”.

Jack-Jack achieved his goal in that Dash looked at him, checking on him, yet his little brother didn’t turn into his Monster form, and soon contentedly started sucking his foot. Dash smiled and glanced back to the purple creature...who was now babbling nonsense.

“That's what they all say. They all say it will be okay, only because they know it's not. Give them a false reassurance...Just...put me in a bush somewhere.... don't need to remember me."

With a smile, Dash shook his head. “Aww now come on, it's not...”, he stopped. The creature was now starting to turn green!

Maybe he was gonna die...

Nah! Much as Dash knew very little of aliens.

But he definitely needed help! Luckily the boy’s last thought had given him an idea! He glanced over to Jack-Jack, the portals maybe? No...even if Jack-Jack was in his own suit...Dash wasn't sure how safe that idea actually was...so he'd save it for the last resort. He could still use his help though, if just explaining his idea to him.

"Hang on Mr. Alien, I know another alien, he'll help ya! Jack-Jack!", Dash turned back to his brother, "We have to get him to Mr. Jumba!". He didn't know if Jack-Jack could help move the creature (hadn't there been some sort of floating power?) but really he was just telling him he needed to use his stroller. "I have to put him in your stroller, so you can ride on my shoulders, how about we try that!". Dash grinned.

Logistics of moving the alien aside, it would be fun to carry Jack-Jack like that! And his brother could take care of himself with his powers so it wasn't too risky. Dash started trying to haul the creature over to the stroller.

Whilst chewing on his red little foot still stuck in his mouth, Jack Jack noticed the monster's skin turning green! His large blue eyes widened and he let out an excited gurgle that managed to get his foot free from the confines of his teething mouth. He liked this purple monster! It reminded him of a certain purple dinosaur he used to watch whilst flipping the channels. He was curious on changing his skin colors like that. He was only able to do a magenta color..

Just as quickly, the one year old baby was distracted from trying out those powers when Dash called out his name. He blinked his blue eyes at him and he grinned when he mentioned Jumba. He cooed with his hands together in delight. He liked Mr. Jumba too! "Gumm!" He tried to say Jumba, but it came out wrong. He couldn't be helped with saying it right, however, as the baby was already distracted by the monster.  

Jack Jack watched as his older brother talked to the monster laying down, and he decided to help.. or as much of a help as Jack Jack could be. The one thing that Jack Jack knew how to get Violet out of bed so quickly:

Turning into a red monster of course!

Vwip! Suddenly, the masked baby hero disappeared and then reappeared just behind the purple monster's head that was still laying down. Suddenly, the baby turned into the magneta colored monster with sharp teeth and sharp nails as he popped his head right over the purple monster's face with a crazed expression and growled his most fearsome voice: "RARRHRAGAAHH!!"

In an instant, Jack Jack turned back into a baby as he burst into giggles, much like he did when he scared Violet. 

[Thunderbolt I]

Thunderbolt chased his tail, running faster and faster. Almost, almost…caught it!

This could always make his dear master smile.

If only he was here!

With a sigh, Thunderbolt released the bottlebrush tail and wandered aimlessly. Trufuthfully… for a working dog, this vacation place was kind of…boring.

Thunderbolt I had worked since he was a little puppy, learning babyish basics. All of his life he had worked, kept busy with his acting and his family.

A vacation? For Thunderbolt, it was boring-land.

Worse of all, his family, his master— nobody could be found.

Sighing again, the german shepherd paced aimlessly through the paths.

“Dad, Epcot’s booring!” groaned a girl. “Why can’t we go back to the hotel and swim?”. “Because we’re here to learn and have fun!” grumbled their mom. “Besides, we can swim at home!” added their dad.

Thunderbolt wagged his tail at this conversation. Heh, clearly this place wasn’t just boring to him!

Then again, what was happening ahead was not boring at all!

Two boys, a kid and a baby, both dressed like red Supermans or something (although it looked like they’d forgotten the capes), looking at some kind of blue monsters.

“What kind of movie are you guys filming?” he barked happily, galloped the rest of the way. “Some kind of Capeless Superman One and Two Vs. The Creature From the Blue Lagoon?”

Odd choice for a remake, but he’d seen weirder.

…Where were the boys’ parents?

And how did that actor have such good monster makeup? Why, the actor didn't even smell like a human!
