Who am I? Just a conscience!
Introduce yourself
Hey, howdy, hey! The name's MAGGIE, and I wished upon a star from ADS. My other imaginary friends include TRIPLETS ETC. SADALIA and I are so very eager to join the Worlds of Disney circle of life!
Character basics
Character name: Sadalia Brushthorn
Age: 16
Species: Elf
Birthplace: New Mushroomton
Movie: Onward
Custom title: Intrepid Investigator
Why'd you pick this character? I love fleshing out background characters, and after the bit of help her book gave in at least giving her personality as a reporter etc, I feel it would be fun to run with that and have her set her nose to problems like getting home/back from the parks.
Character appearance (try to get at least 2 or 3 sentences for each section)
Hair description: Sadalia has slightly frizzy, purple hair, which she keeps done up in a bun most times so that it's out of the way for any of her varying activities. And for bad hair days, though she keeps it fairly manageable while not obsessing over it, like other girls at her school might.
Facial description/mood/expressions: Often seen smiling encouragingly, or even with a curious gleam in her eye if things seem up, Sadalia is a generally happy Elf, and it shows in her expressions. She has the typical pointy ears of all Elves, though her skin's a purple tint, brown eyes, and a normal sized nose.
Clothing style: She prefers to wear plain clothes. Usually just a patterned T-shirt with rolled up Jeans, red socks, white sneakers and a green jacket.
Body build: Everything about Sadalia says 'average'. She's of average height, not tall but also not too short. Normal build, able to handle most physical activity that comes her way, while not being the type to try out for sports any time soon.
Any unique traits (optional): None
Original character analysis (In your own words and please be thorough)
Personality:
Sadalia is a very grounded person, or always was back before her world was turned upside down! With all the makings of a popular kid, thanks to her confidence and never being afraid to speak up, she still would never turn her back on a kid needing her help, or pretend she was better than anyone, so she found her spot in that Liked-but-not-Popular category of High School and with her friends. Practical, Sadalia very much believes she has to see it to believe it, but then she's seen a lot recently and is a bit more open to believing what Ian and his brother, Barley, talk about and magic. Ian walks around with a staff now after all. She can be like a dog with a bone if something, or some question, is really bothering her, and yet is also content to just let others be themselves and won't push an issue if it really seems like the other wants to drop it.
History:
For Sixteen years, Sadalia's life was pretty normal. Born an only child to loving parents, suburban home, doing well in school, all the makings of your typical teen success story. So much so, it would almost fall into the category of also cliche, except that magic and drama was later stirred up. Sadalia was always that kid that did her best in school, learning quickly how to print her letters in 1st grade and making average grades all through Elementary, Middle and then High School.
She heard about how The Old Days used to be, and how the world apparently had Magic in it, but it sounded like kiddie stories for the most part. Great to imagine as a child, but past Thirteen, she quickly turned her attention to the real world and all of its conveniences. Computers were much simpler to do your homework, or even write for the school paper, on and smart phones kept you instantly connected.
This wasn't to say that Sadalia didn't see the appeal of being Adventurous, but she felt the best use of it was in chasing down real world things, like leads on why the cafeteria meat seemed to have not changed in two weeks or just being bold enough to make new friends. Her closest ones were Althea, Parthenope, and Gurge, for most of Middle and then High School, and she'd made them fairly easily, just walking up and asking if they wanted to hang out.
Sadalia underestimated how hard this was for others of a more shy nature, and so was really confused when one day, during her Sophomore year, a kid from her Science Class, Ian Lightfoot, walked up to invite and then dis-invite them to his birthday party. She felt she'd been encouraging enough about her and the others coming, and understood that maybe his brother pulling up in his van, blaring his music, was a bit embarrassing; but still the way in which Ian pulled out of even inviting them to the party was odd.
She shrugged it off and went about her weekend, though, until later, when she was passing by the school, she saw it transform into a massive dragon! It was both terrifying and comical, with the face of their mascot. Sadalia's friends pulled her away from the commotion, but already that alone was beyond what she'd thought about how the world worked. Ian defeated it with some magic, apparently, as he later told her, Althea, Parthenope, and Gurge in their science class after the school was rebuilt. The four had made friends with Ian, not because he was magic, but because he had opened up and become confident in himself enough to both speak to them, and keep invites when he invited them to stuff now.
