Driven by his own curiosity on how this supposed magical invisible barrier thing worked, Lightning made his way over to the theme park's main entrance. Standing beside it he observed tourists coming and going. 'Hm, I wonder...' Lightning mused under his breath. Spotting an exiting family the little corgi taking a deep breath attempted to follow them out to freedom only for the park's magic to take effect causing poor Lightning to bounce back. 'Most peculiar,' Lightning thought while rubbing his now sore forehead. 'It definitely felt like I hit a solid wall there and yet I see nothing. Just a regular looking admission booth; same as any other amusement park. In fact, I see nothing at all unusual about it.'
Getting a really crazy idea, Lightning turned around and walked several feet away from the park's exit and once he had plenty of room he ran back towards the exit as fast as his short little legs could carry him only to be bounced a couple of feet back. Feeling dazed and confused with a massive headache, the disoriented corgi rubbed his head. 'Okay bad idea. Really bad idea. Not to mention insanely stupid! No idea what I was even thinking trying that and it didn't even work,' Lightning scolding himself groaned.
A little toddler who had witnessed his latest failure apparently found amusement in it and giggled. "Silly puppy," she exclaimed giggling and just as she reached over to pet him her mother pulled her away. "Come along Mindy. We haven't the time to stop and play with every cute animal you come across. We have to go home," her mother scolded. "Aw okay. Bye bye silly puppy." The toddler using her free hand waved Lightning bye as her mother led her out. The little corgi's eyes just blinked in response.
Yet another idea crossed his mind. After struggling back to his feet, Lightning shaking himself off made his way back over to the barrier. When he got close enough he began sniffing at it. But unfortunately, the barrier itself didn't have much of an odor or at least none that the small corgi recognized from anywhere. 'This definitely calls for further investigating on my part,' the former actor thought. While sniffing at the barrier, Lightning started to scratch at it. It felt...weird and unnerving to feel a hard surface of some sort only to see nothing there at all. It really made no sense to the dog. Was there even a barrier or was his mind playing tricks on him? But no there definitely was something there preventing him from passing through like the tourists. 'This must have been the magic Ernesto was telling me about,' the little dog at last deduced.
'Well if I can't leave and as long as I am here I might as well have some fun with this...magical barrier,' Lightning thought snickering to himself. He decided to start with something small and easy to pick up. Glancing around he spotted a small rock. Picking it up he tossed it and watched as the thing made it on the other side of the barrier. Finding a stick he did the same thing. Laughing he tossed some more rocks. He was now using the park's magic for his own personal amusement treating it like a toy. Now he wanted to use something even bigger. But what? He looked around for something...anything that he could use.
