Who am I? Just a conscience!
Introduce yourself
Hey, howdy, hey! The name's Elise, and I wished upon a star from lore digging on google. My other characters include n\a. Rapunzel and I are so very eager to join the Worlds of Disney circle of life!
Character basics
Character name: Rapunzel Fitzherbert
Age: 24
Species: Human
Birthplace: Kingdom of Corona, Mont-Saint-Michel, France (I actually lost my mind when I found this island, it looks EXACTLY like Corona.)
Movie: Tangled
Custom title: Let your power shine!
Why'd you pick this character? As a little girl with blonde hair and green eyes, it was difficult for me to identify with any of the blonde princesses until Rapunzel came along. The first time I watched the movie, I was in love. The fashion, the scenery, her beautiful glowing hair, it was all so magical to me. Being the weird girl at school who loved to draw and was always picked last, Rapunzel's quirky personality made me feel seen. I even believed they wrote the movie about me as a kid. I believe Rapunzel is the character who is most like me, and I would love to see what sorts of adventures she will get into here at WoD.
Character appearance (try to get at least 2 or 3 sentences for each section)
Hair description: Rapunzel has over 50 feet of long golden hair. She usually keeps it in a braid to minimize the time it takes her to care for it. This prevents it from becoming tangled, or dirty from dragging on the ground. Sometimes she will weave flowers into her braid as well. (picked from the castle garden maybe add to history)
Facial description/mood/expressions: She has a heart shaped face, big beautiful green eyes, a light dusting of freckles across her button nose, rosy pink lips, and her eyebrows are her natural hair color, brown. Her cheeks are usually slightly flushed as well. Her facial expressions are very animated,
Clothing style: Rapunzel wears a lilac colored dress with baby pink accents. It has pink and lilac striped puff-sleeves, with pink lace-hemmed sheer long-sleeves covering the rest of her arms. The bodice of the dress is a corset style, with the loop-holes and strings fashioned in the front, subtle floral embroidery all over, and lace adorning the neckline and hem. Her skirt extends to her mid calves, and is adorned with more floral embellishments along the outer edge of a strip down the middle of her skirt. She often is barefoot, but wears purple flats when necessary.
Body build: Standing at 5 foot 4, her slender girlish figure is quite humble (unlike Madam Mim's youthful transformation, for example). She isn't muscular by any standards, but she's still very strong in her own way.
Any unique traits (optional): Her glowing golden hair that heals people, of course! Her mother was healed during Rapunzel's birth with tea made from the sundrop flower, which is what gave Rapunzel her powers. Simply let her wrap your wound with her hair and sing her song, and you'll be as good as new! She also has a playful pet chameleon named Pascal.

History:
Rapunzel was born to King Frederic and Queen Arianna on June 21st, in the Kingdom of Corona, Mont-Saint-Michel, France. Before her birth, her mother fell ill, so, not wanting to lose their Queen, the guards and waiting staff in charge of her care acquired the sundrop flower from a secluded cliff along the coast of the kingdom. They crafted an herbal drink with the milk of the flower, and as Queen Arianna consumed the concoction, she was cured. And shortly thereafter, Rapunzel was born. A beautiful baby girl with golden hair and warm green eyes. But what they didn't know, was that the magic of the flower would be absorbed by Rapunzel, changing the trajectory of her little life forever.
Living to see the birth of her daughter, Arianna, along with her husband, did everything to make Rapunzel feel happy, safe and loved. They had already commissioned the best carpenter in the kingdom to craft a crib and mobile for her, and the best seamstresses to sew her the softest bedsheets, so that she would know nothing but comfort from the day she was born. Once this day finally came, they held a lantern festival to commemorate the golden princess, lighting up the sky with a whole kingdom's worth of paper lanterns in her honor. The king and queen absolutely doted on her, bringing her out on walks almost every day, letting her greet all of her kingdom's people. Feeding her proved to be quite a challenge, though, as her curiosity about the world around her made her more interested in examining (more like messily painting with) her food than actually consuming it.
But alas, their blissful family life would soon be torn apart by a woman from the forest with all except good intentions. A witch named Gothel with one goal: eternal youth. On a dark and dreary night, wind rattling the windows of the King and Queen's bedroom, Gothel scaled the castle walls hoping to obtain her treasure..... Rapunzel. Or, more accurately, the power she held. She brazenly succeeded in her task, managing to lose the guards who chased after her, and Rapunzel was whisked away into the night never to be seen again.
In a tall stone tower hidden in the woods, Rapunzel resided with Mother Gothel. Every night, Mother would brush Rapunzel's hair and sing a song with her. And every night, unbeknownst to Rapunzel, the magic that resided within her would be consumed by Mother to keep herself young. Every morning was the same, too. Mother always went foraging in the daytime, so Rapunzel passed the time by playing games, reading, doing chores, and surprisingly many other things despite the tower being as secluded as it was.
Even with there being that much to do, there was still one thing she loved doing more than anything else, and that was painting. She loved painting anything on anything, managing to cover every square inch of the walls over time with very grand and detailed murals depicting scenery and people from a life that seemed to only exist in her dreams. She was drawn to a particular symbol resembling a sun with swirled rays, almost resembling a flower at the same time. But as she grew older, this symbol would spark something in her, something Gothel worked hard to prevent: Rapunzel's independence.
Throughout her life, Rapunzel noticed that on every night of her birthday, the sky would be lit up with thousands of lanterns. She always assumed it was just a coincidence, but as she got older, she grew more and more intrigued by them. Being unable to ignore it any longer, she mustered up the courage and asked Mother if she could leave the tower with Mother and watch the floating lanterns outside for her 18th birthday. Unfortunately, Mother was furious at the suggestion. She vowed to never let Rapunzel leave the tower, and forbid Rapunzel from ever posing such a question to her ever again. Feeling defeated, Rapunzel begun to lose hope of ever going outside.
Until one day, Rapunzel was occupying herself while Mother was out foraging, when, without warning, a strange man burst through her window. Startled, she knocked him out with her frying pan and, not knowing what to do next, stuffed his unconscious body in a wardrobe. She then went through his belongings, where she found a satchel. Inside the satchel was a beautiful golden crown, faceted with various gems: diamonds, pearls, spinel, and aquamarine. Rapunzel gazed curiously upon the tiara before placing it on her head, realizing it felt oddly familiar there. Not knowing what to make of this, she put everything back where it was because she knew the man was likely going to wake up soon. So, she retrieved his body from the closet, tied him to a chair with her hair, and waited for him to regain consciousness to interrogate him about his intentions. Once awake, he introduced himself as Flynn Rider, and explained to her the circumstances that got him there. After hearing his story, she soon realized that this man might be able to help her escape.
With Rapunzel's new friend Flynn Rider, and her loyal pet chameleon Pascal, they rode into the kingdom on Flynn's (stolen from the castle guard) horse, Maximus. When they arrived at the capital, she couldn't help but notice that the city was decked from head to toe with banners and streamers with something familiar painted on them... it was her sun symbol. Putting the pieces together, she soon realized that she had been lied to her whole life. Gothel wasn't her mother, Gothel kidnapped her from the king and queen when she was only a baby. With this new discovery, she went searching for answers.
However, Mother Gothel had other plans.

Losing Eugene, being abandoned or betrayed by him, and being trapped for a long period of time.
She often has nightmares about these things, sometimes waking up in cold sweats, but Eugene's light snoring helps lull her back to sleep.
Anything to add?:
- I apologize for the lack of pronouns/excess use of names in some paragraphs in Rapunzel's history. It's hard to differentiate between two shes, so I hope whoever reads this understands that.
- I have yet to watch the entirety of Tangled Adventures, but I do plan on it, so rest assured I will be learning even more lore about Rapunzel and her universe.
