title:
with a flourish and a flair.
why: [/ul]
Mr. Browne is an oddity. He is a conman with a conscience. Emelius is by far my favorite character in Bedknobs and Broomsticks and maintains very interesting take on life. Mr. Browne has a quirkiness about him that I personally love.[/ul]
charrie appearance[/ul]
Mr. Browne has quickly-graying black hair cut in a shorter style but often covered by his hat. He also grows a trimmed mustache in his natural shade to accentuated his wily smile and lure in an audience.
facial description/mood expressions:
Mr. Browne has very vivid and bold expressions to compliment his extravagant personality. He has a slightly sagging face due to his age (although he will promptly deny so if inquired), but still maintains the energy of his youth.
clothing style:
At the moment, Mr. Browne wears slightly worn suits and cardigans stolen - i mean, temporarily borrowed - from the abandoned mansion Mr. Browne has been "maintaining while the owners are away" as well as a charcoal old hat.
body build:
Mr. Browne is not a particularly fit gentleman. He has a slightly protruding gut, but still is rather active for a man of his age.
any unique traits (optional) :
Mr. Browne has very grand expressions that fall in line with his entertainer status.

original charrie analysis. (everything must be in your own words! please be thorough.)[/ul]
Mr. Browne places himself before most, and spent the majority of his lifetime trying to excel himself. He frequently tries to take the "easy road" to the top. Mr. Browne relies on luck and his charms to make it day to day. However, despite all his faults and failures, Mr. Browne is very brave and spirited.
history:
Mr. Emelius George Browne was born in 1898 in London, England. He was the youngest of three boys in a poor and worn family. His father worked for a famous actor as a servant and chauffeur. Emelius grew up hearing tales of the extravgance of the life lived by those with wealth and became infatuated with one day becoming famous and rich himself. Blinded by his own ambition, Emelius tried out for several performing oppurtunities immeadiately after finishing high school but was quickly rejected by them all. Mr. Browne, depressed by this failure, decided that it was hardly likey for him to become rich and famous based on talent. While walking along a market street one day, he caught sight of street performers impressing the public with their feats. It seemed all too easy of a way to earn cash. Emelius soon had his own stand set up and began performing shoddy magic tricks for a copper or two a feat.
Soon the months turned to years which turned into decades. Mr. Browne found he was no better off now than when he began street magic. He decided to improvise, but could not think of a way how. Emelius chose to venture to the street market on Portobello Road for inspiration. He came a across a book store and found a well-worn manuscript entitled The Spells of Astoroth. Flipping through its wrinkled contents Emelius devised a brilliant plan to found a correspondance college of witchcraft. He hastily paid and bagan to leave, book in hand when the shopkeeper ran after him complaining that Mr. Browne had given him a dunt coin. A scuffle followed, in which the book tore in two. Mr. Browne got away with a large majority of the spells, while the others remained with the shopkeep to eventually disappear from his knowledge. The correspondence college was created as planned, and Mr. Browne continued with his regular life.
In August of 1940, Mr. Browne chose to close his sham college using the excuse of the war to hide the fact that he could not provide the last lesson - the substitutiary locomotion spell - because it had been a part of the section he lost during the scuffle. Dismayed at the failure of his sham, he was walking through the neighborhood of the actor his father had worked for when he noticed that everyone was gone. Then he spotted the unexploded bomb that the German Nazis had dropped. At first, it came as a bit of a shock, but then he realized that now he could finally have a home like he had always wanted. Mr. Browne moved what belongings he had into the largest mansion on the block and began enriching himself in all the splendours that had been left there. That same month, he met the three Rawlings children and Miss Eglantine Price while he attempted to earn a copper on a sidewalk alleyway. At first he treated them like any other customer of his, but changed atctics after Miss Price told him she was one of his former pupils, distressed at not recieving his final lesson. He was charmed by her and quickly obliged. The five of them rode back to his mansion upon a large brass bed that Miss Price and the children had used to find him with the magic of one of the spells from his school. He told her about the book only after realizing his constant pestering to have her join him as an assistant who could really do magic got him turned into a fluffy white rabbit (Miss Price's specialty). He led her and the children to Portobello Road, where they scouted bookstores for the missing half of the book. The five of them where confronted by a knife-armed criminal named Swinburne who led them to his boss, a man called the Bookeeper, who owned the other half of the book. The completed text tells the legend of the spell but does not give the magic words, which are engraved on a medallion formerly owned by Astoroth. They escaped via the bed and proceeded to the fictional world of the Isle of Naboombu, where the animals' king wears a pendant with the incantion of the substitutiary locomotion spell. They were not well-greeted, but saved when Mr. Browne offered to serve as the referee of the king's soccer game. During the game, Emelius was frequently flattened by the rowdy players there. Upon the game's conclusion, he performed a "gypsy switch" and switched the king's royal pendant with his referee whistle. Upon returning home, they realized that the pendant could not transfer from one world to another as they did and disappeared. However, they found a picture of the pendant in a children's book about Naboombu that Paul had and were able to allow Miss Price to experiment with the spell after all. Yet, when the children begin to treat Mr. Browne like a father and suggest he marry Miss Price, Emelius was flustered and quickly departed to the train station. As he laid on the cold bench at the station, he realized that he was a coward and was giving up the one real thing he ever had in his life. He hurried to return to Miss Price's side, only to find that her house had been overrun with a Nazi landing party. Sneaking into Eglantine's workroom, he found her rabbit spell and, after a lot of tries, turned himself into a white rabbit to evade the Nazis and rush to the museum where Miss Price and the children were being held. He helped her as her substitiary locomotion army fought back the Nazis. After that, he stayed with Miss Price until deciding to join the British army and assist the war effort with a promise to return to her promptly.

RP SAMPLE: ----
Alainne Grace Belmonte huffed as the ravenous wind tossed her hair around her face. She was nearly blinded before she came upon the tavern. The wild winds were screaming into her ear with their fury at the water that shared their skies. She kept the hood of her coat down, so the air could prepare her before entering the tavern. The voices she heard were many, and vocative. There were whispers, shouts, consolations, and scolding tones within the breezes that seeped out of the building. In other words, it was any typical city tavern. Aly walked into the establishment with confidence her stride. Her vedo darted out of the downpour and began to dart towards the fireplace as fast as her legs could carry her. Aly laughed softly at Sarai's immense dislike of water. Then again, that was why Sarai never appreciated it when Aly was sent on missions in Valcoast.
Aly let Sarai tend to her own needs as she made her way to the bar. The bartender recognized Aly as a frequent, however foreign, customer and began pouring a glass of water upon meeting Aly's eyes. Then he set the glass before Aly with a smile saying, "You can't keep away, rain or shine, can you, Miss Belmonte?" He was a sweet man, however foolish. With a grin of her own, Aly replied, "I don't get to decide when buisness is done, as long at it gets done." The bartender nodded and went to tend to another customer. Aly's eyes followed the bar and caught a woman she did not recognize sitting a little further down. The other patron made Aly feel oddly uneasy, but she couldn't figure out why exactly. Sarai returned to Alainne and curled up beside the leg of the chair, only to have to stand up again as Aly walked over to the other woman. "hello, i'm sorry, but I don't believe we've met before. I'm Alainne Belmonte - Aly for short."
