charrie basics.[/ul]
age:8
species:Bengal Tiger(Panthera tigris tigris)
birthplace:Indian Jungle
movie: The Jungle Book 1 & 2. (Also in t.v shows: Talespin & Jungle Cubs.)
title:
King Tiger
why: Shere Khan is delightful, refined and elegant, he is evil, but deliciously so, I've always been a fan of his committed level of noble style evil and smooth spoken mannerisms. (Even though they differ so much from Rudyard Kipling's version of him.)
[/ul][/ul]
charrie appearance[/ul]
facial description/mood expressions: Oh so refined, elongated feline features, yellow teeth and yellow eyes. Expressions range from an evil smirk when he's pleased about something, to a ferocious killing expression when his teeth are bared.
clothing style: No clothes, just black striped orange fur. (Although in Talespin he wears expensive business suits.)
body build: Skinny and under-weight for a tiger, but powerful, he's in his later years. (8 years is old for a wild tiger,) and can't hunt as well as he used to, but still packs a mean swipe of the paw.
any unique traits (optional) : Very sharp claws, long tail. (Used by Baloo to refute the old saying "got the tiger by the tail.")

original charrie analysis. (everything must be in your own words! please be thorough.)[/ul]
history:
Born sometime in the 19th century, Shere Khan was the only cub born to his doting mother who arrogantly named her offspring King Tiger or The Tiger King. (Rudyard Kipling actually named him after a Pashtun Prince called Sher Shah Suri.)
A bully and very headstrong, he wasn't much of a hunter as a cub and actually became friends with most of his antagonists in later years, Baloo, Bagheera, King Louie, Hathi and Kaa. He is a bully but still a close friend with the rest of the Jungle animals, however in his later years he became a deadly hunter and his friendship with all, (but Kaa whom he still dominated,) waned and disappeared.
Shere Khan's reputation as a hunter grew as did his nature of no mercy, finally to the disgust of his former friends and the rest of the populace of the Jungle it became known that Shere Khan was a man-eater and actively sort out any human he found in his jungle.
He is the one who dealt the killing blow on Mowgli's parents and wanted the man-cub for himself but Mowgli's mother had hidden the basket and Bagheera instead had stumbled across the baby and had taken it to Akela's wolf pack and given to Raksha (mother wolf) and Father Wolf to raise as one of their own.
Shere Khan was driven out of the jungle and was forced to hunt on the outskirts for ten years, in which time Mowgli grew and flourished, but Shere Khan grew skinny and madder in his desire for revenge against the man-cub whom had eluded him.
Shere Khan went to Akela's wolf pack and threatened that if the wolves do not give him Mowgli he will take over their hunting territory, only to learn that only days previously, from one of the younger wolves, (who was an enemy of Akela.) That they had heard of his return and that Mowgli had been spirited away by the panther Bagheera to be taken to the man village.
Shere Khan was beyond annoyed, man and his fire, (and more recently his fire-stick,) frightened him, and the man-cub would soon be in their safekeeping if he didn't find the little creature and devour him.
He also tracked down King Louie (an odd orange monkey not native to the Jungle,) and his disgusting monkey followers, Louie admitted under duress that he had had the man-cub but Baloo and Bagheera had rescued him.
Shere Khan thought he would try his luck with the sneaky Kaa, whom he also knew had a taste for human flesh, and first went hunting in the grasslands. He spotted a deer and was about to make his move when Hathi (whom now referred to himself as Colonel Hathi, no doubt as influence from the occupying white people who called themselves Englishmen,) came barreling through the underbrush with his Elephant patrol and scared the deer away.
Following the Elephants across the grasslands and into the bush, Shere Khan watched gleefully as Bagheera himself appeared in front of the Elephants and order them to halt. The black panther was as serious as ever, but desperately spoke of how Mowgli had disappeared in a manner that suggested how much he cared for the man-cub.
Shere Khan smirked broadly, this was very interesting, completely delightful, the boy was free of both the panther and the bumbling oaf of a bear, the jungle could be a dangerous place for the boy...how wonderful.
He skulked away after the loud voice of Hathi damaged his eardrums and continued on his mission to find Kaa, eventually looking up into the canopy further into the jungle to see the snake's long tail hanging down and his hissing voice singing something.
Ever the evil gentleman, Shere Khan tugged on the tail then hid behind a tree, and Kaa's small, flat head eventually appeared and asked who it was, the elegant tiger stepped out from behind the tree and reintroduced himself. Kaa tried to hide his surprise and dismay, but not very well, Shere Khan was sure he had seen the man-cub and was hiding something in his coils in the canopy above.
After denying he was singing to anyone, only singing to himself, Kaa then had to under-go a through showing of all of his body, mouth, tail and middle, (luckily for him Shere Khan couldn't remember exactly how long he was.) The Tiger was placated for the time being, but couldn't shake off the feeling Kaa was lying, but asked the snake to inform him immediately if he saw the man-cub, saying he must continue his search for the poor helpless lad.
As Shere Khan left he heard Kaa muttering behind him that he didn't believe that one little bit, the tiger smirked to himself and continued to scour the jungle. Eventually he came upon an open desert area, where the vultures mostly hung out, indeed there was an annoying singing bunch of them and in the middle... the man-cub Mowgli.
Shere Khan approached closer as they were distracted, then broke in with his booming baritone, "that's what friends, aaare forrr!" And as they halted in shock and laid all eyes upon him, Shere Khan clapped his mighty paws in applause. "Jolly good show."
The vultures scurried away, but the man-cub, Mowgli, refused to budge, the tiger inquired if he didn't know whom he was, the boy stubbornly replied he knew exactly who he was, Shere Khan.
When Shere Khan asked why he didn't run, he asked why should he, seeing the boy in a different light, he actually liked how stubborn Mowgli was, he said he'd give him a sporting chance and a count of ten to escape, a little.
Shere Khan counted and glanced over his shoulder to see Mowgli had grabbed a stick and hadn't moved otherwise, he started to wave it as the tiger finished his countdown and made his move, leaping at the man-cub.
Mowgli dropped the branch but Shere Khan felt a pair of powerful paws grab his tail, he looked around to see his former friend, the goon Baloo, grasping hold for dear life. He did everything he could to dislodge the bear's grasp, but couldn't shake him as the man-cub ran forward and began to hit the tiger with a stick.
Baloo called out for the man-cub to be taken away and two of the vultures carried him off, but Shere Khan managed to knock Baloo to the ground and proceeded to swipe at his powerful hide, knocking him out.
Just then the vultures began to attack and torment him, Shere Khan swiped at them in annoyance, he hadn't finished off the bear yet but they would certainly be next. Just then he felt something being attached to his tail.
"Look behind you, chum," one of the vultures called out.
Glancing behind him, Shere Khan saw a flaming branch, fire! He snarled in alarm and rushed away from the scene in a hurry, how would he put out the fire? As soon as he reached the jungle the rains had arrived and the fire was put out, but not without scorching his tail and backside very badly.
Shere Khan had his dignity and could wait for revenge, he would bide his time, but, he swore by his whiskers and sharp claws, the man-cub and all who protected him would pay for this.
ambitions: Devour that delicious, but dangerous, man-cub Mowgli, (also any other man who dares wonder into his jungle.) Take revenge on Baloo for the fire branch. Keep a closer watch on that Kaa, (not much of a spy.)
strengths && abilities: Hunter-killer instincts, deadly speed, sharp claws and teeth. Devious and cunning.
flaws: Oh please...perfection down to the tips of his claws...okay maybe likes the taste of human flesh too much.
likes: Himself...and any good meal.
dislikes: That man-cub Mowgli, Baloo, Bagheera, those vultures who resemble a certain famous British band too much, oh that pesky Kaa who can't do anything right, that loud mouth King Louie, those elephants...pretty much anything but himself.
fears: Fire! Man's fire stick. (Gun.)
what makes this character unique: Shere Khan is unique in that he is the first evil big cat, he set the stage for Prince John and Scar later. He is refined, elegant and essentially a caricature of the big game hunter of the 19th century. (Charming, deadly and without mercy.)
RP SAMPLE:
He moved low to the ground, stalking through the grasslands, his yellow eyes peered over the top of the yellow grass blades to see his prey, a small doe. Her muzzle pressed into the water ahead as she drank, completely distracted.
The fur on his back rose up slightly as he moved himself forward the tiniest amount in anticipation, his powerful shoulder blades shuffled back as he stretched out his paws, letting out a low growl.
Just a few moments and he would pounce, the tiger extended his claws and hunched foward, ready to move, only moments...
"HUP, two, three, four HUP, two, three, four KEEP IT UP, two, three, four..."
The deer raised it's head at the thundering sound of approaching elephants and their dreadful singing and bolted away, Shere Khan rolled his eyes and lifted up his noble head to look over with a snarl at the approching jungle patrol.
"What beastly luck. Confound that ridiculous colonel Hathi." Shere Khan muttered, Colonel my lame paw, he thought as he skulked after them, I might have a word with that bumbling idiot about scaring off my prey. His wife has more brains then him, perhaps I can reason with her...
The skinny tiger moved swiftly into the bushes and hid nearby when he heard a familar voice yell out "HALT!" to stop the Jungle Patrol.
That certainly wasn't Hathi, it sounded like the serious Bagheera...yes Bagheera had been the last one seen with the man-cub according to that young wolf.
Hathi's booming voice rang out in response, "Who said 'Halt'? I give the commands around here. Now speak up, who was it?"
Bagheera admitted his guilt and Hathi demanded to know why he would do something so highly irregular, buddering fool.
"Colonel, I am sorry, but-but I need your help." Bagheera continued.
Holding his paw up to his ear to hear the conversation with the outraged Hathi, Shere Khan smirked, help? What was going on here, the proud Bagheera rarely asked for anything like help.
"Impossible. We're on a cross-country march."
Yes, a cross-country march to rob us poor hunters of our prey.
"It's an emergency, colonel. The man-cub must be found. "
"What man cub?"
"The one I was taking to the man-village."
A wide smirk spread across Shere Khan's face, the man-cub Mowgli, the one in Bagheera's custody, no doubt, oh this was turning out to be a welcome distruption from his hunt.
"How interesting..."
