charrie basics.[/ul]
age: 16
species: Human! Most definitely
birthplace: Agrabah…City of mystery! Of Enchantment and the finest…*Jasmine glares* Okay just Argabah
movie: Aladdin and its sequels!
title: I.D.P: independent Princess
why: why'd you pick this character?: Jasmine is the type of person I can relate to easily, she’s far to similar to me for my own good and I feel as though she’s a long lost friend. I love her independence and her fiery nature. She isn’t a push over and she’s prepared to get her ass kicked if she has to fight (she wont go down easily though I can assure you!). She’s strong and funny and perhaps my favourite of all the Disney princesses.

charrie appearance[/ul]
facial description/mood expressions: Large almond shaped eyes stare out at you from a regal heart shaped face and they twinkle with intelligence and mischief. She is a girl who knows her own mind and she expects you to know it too if you even consider befriending her.
clothing style: The hot Arabian Climate causes Jasmine to dress in cool, skin bearing cloths during the day, whilst wrapping up during the cold nights. Her clothing style is similar to that of a belly dancer, preferring light pastel and turquoise shades to others and sometimes adding a scarf into the mix. Her favourite outfit in particular consists of a turquoise bedlah bearing her midriff and her arms and accessorising with gold and copper jewellery. Bustle pants cloak her legs and to finish the outfit off, she wears a pair of simple gold slippers that curve upwards at the tip.
body build: Petite and slim
Perhaps one of the most beautiful women in all of Arabia, Jasmine stands at around 5’7 with a slim build and curves in all the right places, accentuated by the clothes she wears. Her skin is a delicious shade of russet and her Ebony hair falls in a thick cascade right the way down to her hips. Preferring to keep it tied back in 3 sections with ribbons that match her clothes, its no wonder that Jasmine is one of the most sought after women across the many deserts.
Her limbs are long a and slender like her figure and her entire posture carries a regal grace which one can only get with a true blooded princess. No matter what she dresses in she’ll always look amazing and she can dress down or dress up with ease and confidence. She doesn’t need chamber maids to wait on her hand and foot and if you even consider trying to tell her where to go, what to do or how to dress she’ll turn around without a second thought and walk away from you, she is in all essence an independent woman who needs only herself to rely on.

original charrie analysis. (everything must be in your own words! please be thorough.)[/ul]
Fiery and headstrong are two words that describe Jasmines personality but if you look a little bit deeper you’ll see she has much more to offer. Yes she is stubborn, opinionated and snappish when she wants to be but she is also very kind, caring and approachable. If you need help she’ll rush to your aide, with or without permission and if she wants to do something she’ll do it no matter what the guards, her father or Jafar have to say about it. She isn’t one to judge people on their outward appearance and she’ll often oppose authority if she doesn’t agree with something that’s been decided. She refuses to rely on anyone and will only ask for help if the situation is dire or if she knows she can trust you.
She has a somewhat sarcastic sense of humor and is constantly searching for something that even she herself isn’t quite sure of. She is loyal to her friends and she won’t hesitate to stand up for you if she can see your being mistreated. She can be generous when she wants to be and even if she is a princess she is in no way high strung or snobbish, she has morals and good ones at that. Her family mean the world to her and if you threaten any of them she wont just stand by an watch, she’ll take matters into her own hands which usually gets her into trouble. People who might not know her may consider her unbecoming of a princess but in actual fact she is perhaps the ideal. She has her own mind, she’s non-judgmental, if a problem arises she’ll deal with it head on and if you need her she’ll be there to support you no matter what race, background, sex or species you come from.
She is a romantic at heart and doesn’t need, money, jewels or fine clothes to woo her. She only needs you to be yourself and she prizes honesty and truth above all others, so if you plan to lie to her, don’t do it! She isn’t stupid and she’ll figure it out in a second if you do!
All in all Jasmine is smart, funny, beautiful and a free sprit, one that you can’t keep cooped up in your menagerie like a fine prize and if your looking for a bimbo of a wife who will answer your every beck and call, your in the wrong town because the only girl here is an I.D.P Independent Princess.
history:
Jasmine grew up in a huge Arabian palace, every little girls dream home. Her parents showered her with affection and she grew into a remarkable young lady. After the death of her mother when she was 6 years old, Jasmine watched her father struggle to run the city through his grief. Being too young to help him, the only thing the princess could do was observe the people and the courtiers that came and went as she tried desperately to grow up so she could help him. She asked questions no one else would dare ask and tried her best to memorize the laws her grandfather had laid down before her father, hoping that if she could remember enough she could help the sultan with his problems. She was a clever resourceful girl for her age.
Running an entire city by himself was no easy task and the towns people themselves became affected by the loss of such a fair Sultana. Poverty rose and the drop in security granted easy entrance to city for thieves, merchants and nomads resulting in over population. The entire city believed the Sultan to be a broken man until one Grey day, a tall, dark stranger requested a meeting with him. Now 12 years old, Jasmine who was starting to become acquainted with the ways of ruling a sultanate (the city) made her mind up the second she saw the stranger. His name was Jafar and he brought with him, a proposition for the Sultan. If he were to take on the role of 'Royal vizier' he would aide the Sultan in his rule and return Agrabah to the rich city it once was. Almost defeated by the loss of his wife, the Sultan agreed to hire the man, praying to Allah that he would keep true to his word. Jasmine however had different thoughts on the matter. there was something strange about this man, why all of a sudden would someone appear out of the desert and claim he could help save the city? Someone who had never been seen in Agrabah before and who seemed far too acquainted with the personal matters of its royal family for her liking.
The young Princess brought her suspicions to her fathers attention but her father, blinded by happiness at the prospect of saving the city and his family waved them off as childish judgment. "Your still young Jasmine and have much to learn". he would say whenever the matter arose. After a while Jasmine got used to the stranger, even addressing him by his first name. Nothing untoward had happened since his arrival and her father was back on top form again, did she really have a right to judge him? She knew the answer was yes and still something inside her told her not to trust the man but what could she do, her father was happy with his new Vizier and that was what mattered.
Time passed by and as the Princess grew close to her 16th birthday, her father began to scour the neighboring Sultanates for prospective suitors. He'd suddenly become obsessed with telling her how to live her life. She had to get married, had dress like a princess and had act like a princess, the constant nagging did nothing but annoy her and fulled her need to rebel against the one stupid law which she'd heard uttered to her over and over "the law says you must be married to a prince by your next birthday". She knew her father was only looking out for her but he had to understand that she had her own mind and he couldn't force her to do these things. So one night after a memorable scene with a stuffy Prince named Achmed, she slipped over the Palace walls and out into the city. Having never been outside the palace walls before she knew nothing of the customs or the poverty in which the city wallowed.
Disguised as a simple peasant, she wound her way through the labyrinthine streets and sideways wowed by the thrill of the bazaar and what it offered until she took pity on a poor starving child. Taking an apple from a fruit cart and not realizing she had to pay for it, Jasmine handed over the apple to the little boy and started to walk away when the rough looking cart owner caught her by the wrist and yanked her back, asking her to pay and calling her a thief. He asked her if she knew what the penalty for stealing was, threatening to cut her hand off with a curved sword. She tried to back away and offered to run back to the palace and get some money from the Sultan to amke up for her mistake but believing it to be an excuse the fruit seller brought the sword down onto her wrist when she was saved in the nick of time by a young boy a little older then herself who told her to "play along". He came up with a wild story about how she was his crazy sister and manged to get them both clear of the cart until his own pet Monkey got them into trouble by stealing a mixture of jewels, gold and fruit from the people around them, they fled and in no time at all found themselves running across the rooftops.
He knew straight away she hadn't been in the marketplace before and gracefully accepted her thanks. Upon further conversation with him, she found they had much more in common then she'd realized and things started to heat up a little when they were interrupted by the palace guards, both convinced they we're after each other. Worried her father had sent them to retrieve her, Jasmine panicked and was taken aback when the boy offered his hand and 4 simple words "Do you trust me?" she nodded and they jumped from a hole in the side of a building and landed with a thump on the ground. They scrambled to their feet and tried to escape running into guards on both sides. The gaurds apprehended the boy and angered, Jasmine revealed herself to Razoul the captain, ordering him to release the boy. Razoul apologized to her and uttered that his orders came from Jafar, he told her she'd have to take it up with him and that's just what she plans to do the second she returns to the palace.

what makes this character unique:
Jasmine is a very strong female character, she’s one of those rare Princesses who doesn’t depend on the people around her to save her. She can look after herself and if something does happen to her he won’t go easily and she wont sit by and wait for someone to save her (unless of curse she gets trapped in a giant hourglass, I think anyone would need a little help to get out of that!). She wont bow down to others unless by force and It’s all these combined things that I think make her so unique among the women of Disney.
RP SAMPLE: ----
Storming off had become a second nature to the mocha skinned Princess recently and it was fast becoming a regular occurrence. If she had to sit through one more meeting with another suitor and listen to his self-absorbed babble about…well himself she was going to throw up. Her thick raven hair swaying elegantly with her angry movements, Jasmine hurried back towards her chamber, pursued by her rather frantic sounding father “Jasmine!! Jasmiinee, come now!!” Wrenching open the door and allowing it to slam loudly behind her before striding across the marble floor and shoving the beautiful curtain which hung in front of the large balcony aside. “Rajah…” she said curtly to the huge tiger who had been lazing in the hot afternoon sun in front of her as she passed by “Make sure nobody comes in! I wanna be alone!”
Finally coming to a stop by the carved banister that ran the length of the balcony to prevent anyone from falling, she slammed her hands down onto it’s smooth, warm surface with a loud slapping sound before letting out an exasperated grumble “Oooh If I have to meet one more obnoxious suitor I’m going to…to Oooh I can’t even think at the moment!” she huffed, dropping her chin into her hand and leaning on one elbow whilst the other picked at the varnished stone beneath her fingers. Her large almond shaped eyes skirted over the outline of the sprawling city below her and it wasn’t until a loud noise pulled her attention towards the streets that she straightened up once again. The sound of drums drifted towards her from the main street as a huge procession pushed through the city gates in the distance and began its quick flow straight towards the Palace.
Her eyes widening in surprise she watched as the procession suddenly exploded into a riot of colour and the music grew in volume, finally breaking into a song. Taken aback by the strange sight, the Princess stared on in astonishment as the procession drew nearer and nearer to the Palace gates. Now she could see it clearly somewhere in the middle was a huge elephant ambling its way forwards with some kind of carriage on it’s back. Shaking her head in disbelief she didn’t need to guess what this was about.
