age: 19
species: Human (and frog)
birthplace: New Orleans
movie: The Princess and the Frog
title:
Just {ONE) kiss?
why: Because I just feel that Tiana breaks the mold of the typical Disney princess. She had to work hard for everything she has and wasn't even looking for love when she met her prince. I just feel that we have much in common, we're both grounded people... and I can be a slight stick in the mud from time to time. She's my new favorite Disney princess, having beat Jasmine out of the number one spot. I just hope I can do justice to the character.

charrie appearance[/ul]
Tiana's hair, to say the least, is difficult to work with. A giant mass of ebony black curls, she doesn't usualy bother with fighting it and simply ties it back in a ponytail or bun- adn even that won't tame the hair completly, there are always rogue curls popping out. You'll almost never catch her with her hair down, only a small handful of people have that privilege.
facial description/mood expressions:
The first thing one would notice about Tiana has to be her eyes. They're large, brown, and very expressive, framed with thick dark lashes and topped with slender eyebrows. She is often referred to as doe-eyed. Even as a frog, they were her most noticable feature. That doesn't mean the rest of her isn't striking to look at. She has a heart-shaped face with rounded cheeks, dimples and full, pouting lips.
When she smiles, her entire face lights up, revealing a full compliment of pearly white teeth. But when she frowns, you better watch out. Her eyes darken and glare with a striking ferocity, some say she could practically spit fire when angry. Her face can express a range of emotions, it doesn't matter whether she's human or frog.
clothing style:
Being a working girl, Tiana prefers wearing simple dresses and frocks. Even after becoming a princess, she hasn't really made many changes to her wardrobe, other than adding a dash of green as rememberance to her time as a frog. Her favourite colours range from sunshine yellows to aqua blues.
As a frog, she didn't have any clothing to wear, there was no real need. Her skin was a bright shade of green with a lighter underbelly, shiny with
body build:
Standing at 5'7'', Tiana is a rather tall girl. Having spent more than half of her young life running about waiting on tables, Tiana has a very slim, athletic build. That doesn't mean she's a stick, though. Being a cook means she has sampled many of her creations more than once, so she does have a bit of an extra swell to her hips than the average girl. Her froggy self was very slender, with long, spindly legs she could use to jump high and far.

original charrie analysis. size][/ul]
All her life, Tiana has been described as a hardworking, serious girl. If she ever wanted something, she had to earn it. This has made her a very independent, devoted and hardworking person. She's a well-grouned person, not believing in all that fairy tale nonsence that her dear friend Lottie was spellbinded by. Determinded to make her father's dream of opening a restaurant a reality, she's spend half of her teenage life running from job to job, barely having time to herself.
It was all that work that had given her the title of 'stick in the mud', she had never had time for dancing with friends or enjoying herself. The only thing she had time for was waiting tables or working late to earn some cash. She became somewhat of a negligent friend. The only time she ever really talked to people was if they came to one of the restaurants she was waiting at. Although she never really showed it, she used to feel really bad about turning them down. But the fact that people often thought she wouldn’t be able to do it kept her determined to carry on, even though it was extremely stressful and tiring.
Things only really began to change when she met Naveen. His laid-back, fun-loving attitude was an even balance to her working tendancies. During their adventure as frogs, they had been foreced to become sort of friends and he brought out a more easy-going side of Tiana she had nearly forgotten about. Turns out there was a part of her that was fun, brave, and willing to enjoy the simple things in life.
history:
Tiana was the first and only child of James and his wife, Eudora. Both had hardly a penny to their name, so it came as quite the surpise when Eudora found out she was pregant. How could they raise a child in their current situation? The support their growing family, James worked endlessly at the local factory for hours on end while Eudora had a job as a seamstress. Tiana had been a very quiet child, never asking for much adn always happy to help her parents. One of the greatest joys in her young life was to help her father cook and share their meals with the rest of the neighbourhood.
When she was a little bit older, her mother was hired as a seamstress for the richest family in town. Apparently the family's daughter liked princess dresses, because Tiana would watch her mom draw sketches almost every night, trying to design a new dress. Eudora eventually started taking her daughter with her. And Tiana was kind of surprised of how different the La Bouff's home was from theirs. Especially the daughter.
Miss Charlotte La Bouff had almost everything a girl could ask for; dolls, teddy-bears, and a countless ammount of poofy pink dresses. Most girls would be jealous, but Tiana was happy that the other girl allowed her to play with her and her things. The two became very close friends. It was fun to listen to Eudora read stories to them from one of Charlotte's many fairy-tale books while she worked on gowns for the child. Stories of beautiful princesses, handsome princes, and plenty of magic. Tiana enjoyed hearing the tales, but she knew she would never need a prince to come to her rescue.
When Tiana was 10, her father had received word that he had been drafted in World War I. It was with a tearful goodbye that her father left, promising he would return and they could open their restaurant together. But that never happened. Her father was killed months after arriving on the battlefield. Devastated, the young girl made a determinded descision, she was going to do all it takes to make her daddy's dream a reality. Starting at a young age, Tiana worked extremely hard, usually as a waitress after school. When she was done with school, she became a full time waitress, usually at about two to three restaurants at a time. It was a extremely stressful. She got little sleep. But she knew that every hour she worked, the closer she was to fulfilling her daddy’s dream. Thanks to the help of Charlotte, she was finally able to get the money she needed in order to place a bid on a rundown sugar mill. She was going to make it into the restaurant her and her father had always dreamed of.
On the evening of the La Bouff costume ball, Tiana received the news that she had been outbid. Just when her dream was about to become a reality, it was snatched from her grasp. Distraught, she ruined her costume and had to change into one of Charlotte’s. Tiana was too upset to go back to the party. All of her hard work. All of the time she had wasted working had been for nothing. Standing out on the balcony, she found herself wishing on a star, something she had done only one other time in her life. But there was no difference.... other than a frog seated next to her. A talking frog. The creature claimed to be Prince Naveen of Maldonia, but that was impossible! The Prince was off dancing with Charlotte!
The frog begged her to kiss him, and it disgusted Tiana with ever fiber of her being. She DOES NOT kiss frogs. But when he mentioned he came from a fabulously wealthy family and he would repay her, she decided to give him just a quick peck. What could happen? Due to not being a real princess (a princess must be the one to kiss the frog to turn him back into a prince), the spell backfired and she became a frog as well. The two were eventually chased out of the mansion into the bayou. And, even though the idea repulsed her, Tiana was going to be stuck with this frog prince until they could figure a way to turn human again. Along the way they came across a jazz loving alligator named Louis and a firefly called Ray who both promised to take them to see Mama Odie, a voodoo priestest who could return them to their natural forms.
They eventually ran into a group of frog hunter’s. With the help of Naveen, they managed to escape, and Tiana was starting to realize that she needed to loosen up a bit. She even found herself falling for the prince’s charm, as much as she didn’t want to.
When they arrived at Mama Odie's, the old woman wouldn't turn them human like they thought. Instead, she gave them insight into what they truly needed. But Tiana misunderstood her words (that love and family was more important than any dream) and thought she was supposed to work even harder to get her restaurant. Following that, Mama Odie then told them that the only way for them to turn human was for Naveen to kiss Charlotte. Since her father was King of the Mardis Gras parade, that made her a princess. But it had to happen before midnight.
They managed to sneak onto a steamboat on it’s way to New Orleans. Tiana was completely unaware that Naveen, too, had started to fall for her and had even decided to propose. However, when she started telling him about her restaurant, and how much it meant to her, he had given up on proposing. She didn’t find this out until after they had gotten off the boat. Ray had explained everything. It all made sense. Why he had been so clumsy and so… not Naveen. She was eager to find him, excited to tell him that she loved him too. But her hopes were crushed when she saw him and Lotte about to say “I do”. Little did she know that it was Lawrence, Naveen’s butler in a magical disguise. Heartbroken, she hurried away.
That was when she came across Dr. Facilier, the man who had turned Naveen into a frog in the first place. He tried to bribe her into giving him the talisman he needed that had fallen into her posession, but promising to make her's and her daddy's dream come true. But she quickly learned that love was more important than anything, she was just too blind to see it. She smashed the talisman, thus sending the Shadow Man to face his "friends".
Tiana found Naveen, the real Naveen, about to kiss Charlotte. Before he could, however, she confessed her love for him. But it was too late for Lottie's kiss to work; the clock had struck, midnight had passed. Tiana and Naveen were going to be frogs forever, Yet they were fine with it, because they would be together. Suddenly, Louis came running along, bringing the dying Ray bundled up in his hands. It turned out Ray and been stepped on by Dr. Facilier in the graveyard. He looked up at his friends and his shining star love one last time and peacefuly passed on as the rain began to fall down on New Orleans.
They held a funeral in the bayou, and were overjoyed to see Ray finally joing his Evangeline up in the sky. Then there was a swamp weddding soon after, and when the two frogs kissed, they were turned human. Turns out Naveen had kissed a princess- Princess Tiana to be exact. They returned to New Orleans and held a proper, human wedding, with family and friends in attendance. With a little help from Louis, Tiana and Naveen were able to buy the old sugar mill from the Fenner Brothers, and worked diligently until they opened thei restaurant- appropriatly named "Tiana's Palace".
Now, with their wildest dreams come true, they work there together. Waiting tables, playing jazz music, and dancing the night away.

what makes this character unique: As I said earlier, Tiana is unlike any of the other Disney Princesses. She's had to work hard to get to where she is, something I really admire. She didn't spend the entire moving pinning for true love, despite receiving it in the end.
RP SAMPLE: ((From another Disney rpg- I played Travis ))
The green foliage. The sweltering heat. The strange animal calls. It soon became abundantly clear to Travis that he was no longer in New Orleans. For the first few moments the young man had mistakenly thought he had somehow taken a wrong turn and ended up in the bayou. But no, the lack of murky, swampy water and blood-sucking horse flies quickly banished that thought.
" Though there certainly are plenty of other creepy lil' creatures flyin' around, that's for sure." he muttered to himself, swatting at a large bug that chose to land on his arm.
Unsure of what else to do in the current situation, Travis let out a shaky sigh before plodding forward. Just keep walking. There were so many vines and roots scattered over the ground, it was no surprise when he tripped and fell with a loud yelp.
"Ain't this just fine an' dandy." he grumbled, pulling himself up off the jungle floor, brushing some dust off of his jacket, and continuing onward with his clumsy trek. It would be just his luck that some giant beast would jump out from the bushes and eat him right up.
Well... at least he wouldn't have to do his chores that evening.
