why: Lady and the Tramp is one of my favorite Disney movies, and I’ve recently rediscovered how much I like it from pulling it out of my movie archives. Tramp was always one of my favorite characters. I love his freedom-loving, charismatic, and care-free attitude, and I also like characters that have room to grow in relationship and family roles. Recently I’ve gotten to re-examine the character from a different perspective on Bella Notte, and would love the chance to explore the traditional character more here.[/ul][/ul]
charrie appearance[/ul]
facial description/mood expressions: Perhaps one of Tramp’s most remarkable features is a rather roguish but charming smile that he sports when he’s in an upbeat or playful mood. His manner is generally cheerful, denoted by brightness in his soft brown eyes and an energetic but relaxed posture throughout his body. When he does get upset or tense, usually due to someone threatening those he loves, his lips curl back in a menacing snarl accompanied by a low growl. His eyes narrow and his head lowers, ready to spring or to fight if need be. His eyes are perhaps most expressive to what he is feeling, particularly when he is happy or sad. When he is upset or hurt (either because he’s messed up with Lady or is unable to do something for those he loves), his eyes show it most, but is also usually accompanied by a distinct droop of the ears and tucking of his tail.
clothing style: A red collar with a licence adorns his neck, given to him by Jim Dear and Darling upon his acceptance into the family.
body build: Tramp is generally tall and lean for his breed, with thin tapered legs and a short, scruffy tail. However, he also retains a relatively wiry muscle mass that comes from the long time he spent traveling and which helps contribute to his natural agility and speed. All in all, he presents a rather lanky but spry appearance that is enhanced by his energetic and playful personality.
any unique traits (optional) :He has a charming smile that could melt an iceberg and very expressive eyes. He has also built up quite the reputation for himself in his days as a collar-free street dog that he still retains in some circles, despite his recent change to house-dog status. [/ul][/ul]
original charrie analysis.[/ul]
A smooth talker and charmer, he once had a reputation for being rather something of a womanizer, though he has left that lifestyle behind after falling in love with the most unlikely of opposites, a beautiful, high-class lady from the leash and collar set. Since meeting Lady he has also come to appreciate more the stability and love being part of a family can provide, and places the safety and happiness of his family above all else, while still retaining that sense of humor and playful energy that defined his life before moving indoors. His family is perhaps the one thing that he can get easily upset about if threatened or endangered, in contrast to his usually laid-back, casual attitude. Though he’s learned much in his time with the family, he is not quite as well-mannered as Lady or her socialite friends when it comes to proper etiquette, and sometimes his mouth can get him into trouble when it tends to run faster than his head. Still, his heart is in the right place, and when he does mess up, he tries his very best to atone for it.
history:
Tramp was born in a small town near the center of Massachusetts on a rural farm as a member of a rather large litter of puppies, and as such was given a wide range of area to roam and explore when he was younger. He and his brothers and sisters made their home in the old barn, and were generally left to fend for themselves as their mother had been a stray in the area, and the farm itself had been left vacant after the previous owners had left. It was a care-free and happy existence for quite some time, playing rough and tumble with his siblings and exploring the landscape, until his mother passed, leaving most of his family to move on on their own. Tramp still re-visited the old farm from time to time, however, and on one such occasion was intercepted by a young couple that was looking to buy some of the land. Though they eventually decided against it in favor of a place closer to the city, they were taken in immediately by the young Tramp’s playful nature and natural charm, and took him with them to their new home.
Once inside with his new family, Tramp discovered a whole new world he never knew existed, and one certainly different from living in the drafty old barn. He was provided with a warm place to sleep, all the food he could eat, and there were plenty of other dogs in the neighborhood to play with and bark at. That all changed, however, when the next addition to the family came along. When his owners’ new baby came in to the picture, Tramp got cut out. As months with the new arrival wore on, the female felt he was too rambunctious and noisy to keep around the infant, and he was tossed back out onto the street. At first he was hurt and confused, though things had been going downhill for a long time since the baby had first arrived, having his food and shelter taken away in favor of the screaming child. He convinced himself it was for the best, and set out on his own over the hills towards the city. He soon made quite the enjoyable life for himself on his own, enjoying the freedom it brought him, much as it had when he was younger, and chalking up the whole family experience to a bad mistake that didn’t deserve further thought.
His life changed again, however, one seemingly innocuous morning when he happened to wander into a high class neighborhood near Park Avenue. It was there that he first spotted Lady, and something in him just couldn’t resist chatting up a beautiful young lady from the upper class, despite his distaste for the general area. Though at first she seemed less than impressed with his rather cavalier attitude and less than well-mannered demeanor, there was a definite connection between them. He was sympathetic to her situation, and admired her beauty and her spirit, not wanting her to suffer the same way he had. He decided to show her his view of the world to try to cheer her up, and after a romantic evening of candlelit dinners and long walks in the park, he found himself unexpectedly falling in love.
Of course, not everything was smooth and easy, particularly regarding some of his habits regarding other members of the female gender and getting into trouble, but his good nature and kind heart won out in the end. He was able to prove to Lady that there was more to him than flirting with girls and chasing chickens by extending a helping paw, both to free her from the horrible muzzle that Aunt Sarah had saddled her with, and in helping to defend Jim Dear and Darling’s young son from a rat that had crept into the nursery. Though Aunt Sarah had been adamant about sending him back to the pound, Lady’s humans saw his better side, and both they and Lady agreed to let him become part of their family. Though part of him is still adjusting to the change, Tramp is happier than he has ever been being with Lady and her family, and together they had four puppies; three girls (Annette, Danielle, and Colette) and one boy (Scamp).

what makes this character unique: Tramp has a unique outlook on life, coming from a background where freedom and independence were the most important things, and slowly coming around to appreciating the security and joy having a family and others to care about can bring through his love for Lady. Though now his concerns and priorities have shifted towards his family, he still retains that care-free, fun-loving attitude, and seeks to find the balance between the two worlds his life now encompasses.
RP SAMPLE: ----
"I signed aboard this ship to practice medicine, not to have my atoms scattered back and forth across space."
[MISSION 1: THE INSECTOID ISSUE]
“Hydrocortilene, hyronalin, cordrazine…”
Dr. McCoy suppressed a yawn as he looked over yet another page of medical inventory. There had been considerable damage done to certain sections of the ship during their run in with the Romulans, and with all of the injuries coming in during that time, there had been precious little left for repairs and reorganization. It was only now, in the lull that followed, that the tedious task of brining the sick bay back up to being ‘ship shape’ had begun, and though he and the rest of the medical staff had made good headway, there were still a plethora of last minute tasks to attend to before they would be back to their original condition. McCoy has gotten up early to try to finish some of these last minute tasks, but as always, there were the usual hiccups that seemed to make everything take longer.
He, for one, was glad that this particular mission was expected to be somewhat dull and uneventful. He knew Kirk had been disappointed, eager to get a flavor for the real thrill of command, but though he respected his friend greatly, he wasn’t sure that he, or the rest of the cadets on this ship, were ready for anything more pressing right now. Besides, after their maiden voyage, he couldn’t see why any of them would be disappointed with something a bit more routine. They had all been through a lot, much more than most of the new recruits had probably seen before or even fathomed, and it was his opinion that they could all use a brief recoup period before facing their next serious challenge. He found himself hoping silently that this current mission would be more the typical fare for this assignment, and much less so taking on inter-galactic super villains like the Romulans.
From behind him, the sudden clang of a warning alarm sounded, and loudly. He nearly jumped out of his skin. Whirling around, his gaze met the form of a young, and apparently mortified, crewman who was kneeling beside on one of the bedside medical monitors. Rolling his eyes, he breathed a sigh of relief as the ensign tried hurriedly to explain himself. He raised a hand to still the boy’s rambling. “Relax kid. As long as it’s working, you’re fine.” The boy nodded fervently. “Yes sir. S-should be working fine now.” He then scurried off to find a new task that would hopefully bring him less attention.
McCoy shook his head and turned back to his datapad. ‘Kids,’ he thought to himself. The boy could have been no more than 17 years old. Why someone so young would want to enlist in Starfleet was beyond him. Then again, a lot of the practices that went on aboard this and other Starfleet vessels were beyond him.
“Exoscalpels….” Aw hell, he couldn’t concentrate on this right now. Besides, he was sure that Lt. Riddell had done more than a thorough job finishing the inventory he had requested of her. She always seemed to do exemplary work, and her dedication and work ethic impressed him, though almost to a fault. He set the datapad down on the table beside him. Speaking of which, she had no doubt delivered the requisite forms to the Captain by now. Giving a cursory glance around the medical bay to ensure that everything was running smoothly for the moment, he made his way through the double doors and headed for the bridge. Not that he felt that he needed to check up on things, though he was somehow doubtful he would get said forms back anytime soon, but it would give him an excuse to see just how the ship was running with the new crew firmly in place. Besides, they were due to arrive at their destination any time now.
He arrived on the bridge shortly thereafter, noticing by the view on the viewscreen that they had already arrived at the planet. Glancing at the graphics that had been pulled up for viewing, he raised an eyebrow at the insect like beings. Interesting, though not exactly what he had expected to be under the list of interest for the Federation. Otherwise things seemed as expected, though he could sense an underlying tension between certain members of the crew. Again, as expected. He made his way over to stand beside Kirk, shaking his head subtly as he noted the latter’s not-so-subtle attentions to his lieutenant. He wondered if he would ever grow out of that particular hobby of his. Somehow he doubted it. “So, how goes it?”

(If anything needs to be expanded upon, let me know, I would be happy to do so. Also, if the sample rp post was supposed to be in the character we are applying for, I can do that as well.)
