age: Nineteen
species: Human
birthplace: New Orleans, Louisiana
movie: The Princess and the Frog
title:
Southern Belle
why: Charlotte is my favorite Disney character of all time. She defies the classic stereotypes Disney has given to her type of character in the past. She's rich, spoiled and can be a bit of a brat, but her heart is always in the right place. She sacrifices her dream, what she's wanted all her life, for her best friend. Not only does Charlotte give up her dream for Tiana, but, she's content in the movie's ending. Despite her spoiled upbringing, Charlotte truly is a good person.

charrie appearance[/ul]
facial description/mood expressions: Charlotte has big blue eyes that widen when she's scared, shocked or excited. She smiled often and when she does, she shows off her perfectly white teeth. When surprised, she raises her eyebrows and sometimes, she'll wince back. When overjoyed, she'll sometimes close her eyes and she frowns and normally cries when sad.
clothing style: If there's one thing everyone knows about Charlotte, it's that she always dresses extravagantly. She enjoys wearing dresses because they do make her feel as if she's a princess. Pink is Charlotte's favorite color without a doubt. Everything she wears is pink. On rare occasions. Charlotte will wear colors like red and white. But normally, she wears pink. She's also a fan of cute accessories. While dressed casusally, Charlotte likes to wear scarfs and hats. When dressed formally, Charlotte almost always dones and a large, but beautiful ball gown and a tiara. It seems that Charlotte dresses as nicely as her money can buy at all times.
body build: Charlotte isn't all too tall, but around an average height. She doesn't weigh too much either. Her arms and legs are long and one could consider her curvy.

original charrie analysis. (everything must be in your own words! please be thorough.)[/ul]
Charlotte's ultimate wish is to fall in love, marry a prince and become a princess. It's been her dream ever since she was a little girl. She's a romantic and believes in true loves and happy endings. She's a bit superstitious. She believes in magic and dreams coming true as well. She's been known to wish on stars when her "Big Daddy" can't give her something she wants. But, if there's one thing Charlotte actually dislikes, it's villains stealing away good people's happy endings. She wishes everyone could live happily ever after and dislikes the thought of someone's true love or happy ending being taken from them. Charlotte is a very loyal friend and despite her spoiled upbringing, one of the kindest people to ever live in New Orleans.
history: Charlotte La Bouff was born to her father Eli "Big Daddy" La Bouff and her mother. Both of her parents loved her dearly, but unfortunately, her mother passed away when she was a little girl. To this day, Charlotte can't remember much about her, but Big Daddy has told her that she's the spitting image of her mother. Eli La Bouff is the wealthiest man in New Orleans and he's used much of his fortune to dote upon his daughter. Since she was a baby, Big Daddy has spoiled Charlotte. He's done everything in his power to make her happy. Around the age of six or seven, Charlotte became fascinated with fairytales. She started begging her daddy for dresses just like the princesses in the story. So, Eli hired Eudora, the finest seamstress in New Orleans. It's soon after that Charlotte meets Eudora's daughter Tiana and the two become best friends. Charlotte soon became Eudora's best customer and a close friend of the La Bouff's.
Every night while Eudora was making dresses for Charlotte, she would read her and Tiana stories. One story in particular, The Frog Prince, caught both Charlotte and Tiana's attention. Charlotte told Tiana that she would kiss a frog, or even one hundred frogs if she could marry a prince and be a princess. Tiana had different feelings about the matter, but the two continued to tease each other about the subject anyways. Charlotte told Tiana that if you wished on an "evenin' star" your dreams could come true. As they grew up, the two remained close friends, but grew incredibly close when Tiana's father passed away. The two bonded over that time and both Charlotte and her father started eating breakfast at the resturant Tiana worked at to help Tiana save up for her resturant.
When Charlotte was nineteen, Prince Naveen of Maldonia came to New Orleans seeking a wealthy lady to marry so he could once again be rich. Knowing that his daughter wanted nothing more than to be a princess, Big Daddy invited Naveen to stay in their house as his personal guest and he also invited him to Charlotte's ball. Charlotte was ecstatic when she heard the news and she ordered tons of beignets from Tiana for her ball and paid Tiana a huge amount of money. It was just enough for her to buy the building for her resturant. Unknown to Charlotte or Tiana, the evil Dr. Facilier had an evil plan up his sleeve. He tricked Naveen and turned him into a frog. He then turned Naveen's escort, Lawrence into Naveen so he could marry Charlotte and get his hands on the La Bouff fortune.
At the ball, Charlotte began to grow nervous that "her prince" was never coming. Throwing a fit, Charlotte begins frantically wishing on a star. Then, "Prince Naveen" arrives and the two dance together. Tiana is happy for her best friend, until she learns that she can no longer have the building for her resturant. Losing her balance, she crashes into the table and ruins her dress. When Charlotte notices, she takes Tiana upstairs and dresses her friend in one of her princess gowns. Charlotte then returns downstairs to continue flirting with "Naveen." It is because Charlotte dressed Tiana like a princess, that the real Naveen assumed she was one and persuaded her into kissing him. The kiss turned Tiana into a frog as well and the two clumsily set off on an adventure into the bayou.
While Tiana and Naveen were questing to find Momma Odi so they could become human once again, Lawrence, disguised as Naveen quickly proposed to Charlotte and of course, she accepted. She merrily set off to plan her Mardi Gras wedding. Little did she know that Facilier and Lawrence were planning to dispose of Big Daddy once the marriage was finished. Meanwhile, Tiana and Naveen finally met Momma Odi who told them that the only way they could return human was for Naveen to kiss a princess. Odi told them that because Big Daddy was King of Mardi Gras, Charlotte was technically a princess until midnight. So, the two, along with Louis and Ray set off back to New Orleans so they can break the spell.
Naveen is captured by Facilier's "friends" and is held captive during the wedding. Tiana sees the wedding between Charlotte and Lawrence and believes Naveen had abanoned her. But, Facilier's spell wears off on Lawrence and Charlotte quickly discovers the truth. Lawrence is arrested and Tiana defeats Facilier and his "friends" drag him into the underworld. The real Naveen introduces himself to Charlotte and she agrees to kiss him, as long as Naveen promises to marry her. But, before Charlotte can kiss the frog, Tiana arrives and lets Naveen know how much she loves him. This moves Charlotte to tears and decides to surrender her dream for her friend. She agrees to kiss Naveen without the requirement of marraige.
Unfortunately, the clock strikes twelve before Charlotte can kiss Naveen and she is no longer a princess. She apologies and sadly leaves them to mourn the death of Ray. After Ray's funeral, Tiana and Naveen are married by Momma Odi and when they kiss, they become human because Tiana is now technically a princess. The two then take back the building for Tiana's resturant, with some help from Louis and they open up their resturant together. Charlotte is the one to catch Tiana's boquet and she dances with Naveen's younger brother at the reception. She is happy for her friends, but, Charlotte is still searching for that perfect guy in her life.

what makes this character unique: Charlotte is kind and caring, despite being rich and spoiled. Most characters with her upbringing, like Anastasia and Drizella would be meaner, more antagonistic characters. Charlotte instead is beautiful, kind, loving and selfless. She's a bit similar to classic Disney princesses like Snow White and Cinderella, but in the end, she doesn't find her Prince Charming. She's beautiful and kind like a Disney princess, she's also come from a rich home, like some princesses and she even looks a bit similar to Cinderella. Unlike most people of the time period, Charlotte is not prejudice/racist/judgemental in the least. She and her father are kind people and they care much for those in their lives. Charlotte constantly ordered dresses from Eudora and always ate at Tiana's resturant to employ them and help them out. She always quick to overpay Tiana for her services as well. Any other character in her position would be a bit villainous, but Charlotte defies Disney's stereotypes and has a heart of gold.
RP SAMPLE: ----
"Tia, what do you think he'd like?"
Charlotte didn't give her best friend time to answer. Instead, she pranced over to her closet, as quick as a flash, and began to go through her large arrangements of outfits. She threw dress after dress onto the floor, shouting a frustrated "no!" with every time she threw a dress behind her. They were all beautiful in their own way, but none of them were the dress. She wanted to look her best for this date; it was a once in a lifetime opportunity for her.
It had been a miracle that a prince had come to New Orleans before, but now, another one was coming, just to seek her hand! It was all she ever wanted, but at the same time, it was a bit overwhelming. What if he didn't love her? As the thought crossed her head, Charlotte scoffed as she continued to throw dresses off their hangers and onto the floor. Who wouldn't love her? She was fun to be around...right?
Suddenly questioning herself, the blonde's expression went blank. She always thought she was a splendid person to be around. Big Daddy seemed to think so, and Tia never complained. Of course, everyone in New Orleans knew she was a little spoiled...and enthusiasm certainly wasn't lacking in her. But...if this prince didn't like her and just left back for his kingdom, what would she do then? Would she ever get married?
Charlotte turned around, a frown now forming on her face. Tiana seemed to notice, but said or did nothing; she just watched the blonde heiress patiently. "Tia; am I fun to be around?" the girl dressed in pink finally asked. After the words left her mouth, Charlotte was sure she'd asked the wrong person. Big Daddy and Tia were the two people she loved the most in her life. They had to say yes. It wasn't like they could just say no.
A few moments of silent passed, and the young woman began to fear her best friend's answer. Once again, instead of waiting for Tiana to answer her, Charlotte turned and continued to go through her closet. The perfect outfit had to be in here somewhere! Besides, if her personality was bad, hopefully the perfect dress would make up for it. Normally, a date wouldn't make her this nervous. Perhaps it was because the man was a prince. Yeah, that had to be it. Of course she'd never met him before, that was probably a contributing factor as well. Still, Charlotte wished she could be as composed as Tiana was.
Finally finding the dress she deemed "the dress," Charlotte smiled like a little girl on Christmas and turned to show the dress to her best friend. "Aint' this one the bee's knees?" she asked, her optimism and enthusiasm suddenly returning. For the third time in the past few minutes, the blonde woman didn't want for Tia's response. Deciding on her own that the dress was perfect, she pranced to her door and pulled it open.
"I'll just change in bathroom! Be back in a flash hun!" And just like that, Charlotte was gone.
