introduce yourself.[/ul]
charrie basics.[/ul]
age:21
species:Human
birthplace:France (as per the original fairytale,) in his father's, (King Hubert's,) kingdom which is neighboring to King Stefan's kingdom.
movie:Sleeping Beauty
title:
Prince, heroic slayer of bad Fairies/Dragons.
why: Prince Phillip is one of my favorite Disney Princes, first of all he was the first one to be given a name, (he was named after Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh,) and then a personality. And to top it off, thank-you Mr Disney, an actual task to do rather then just kiss the heroine!
[/ul][/ul]
charrie appearance[/ul]
facial description/mood expressions: Brown eyed, handsome and firm featured, sweet and mischievous, only when he is pushed to his limits does he show his stern side.
clothing style: Typical of the 14th century, tights and tunics, lets take a look at his three outfits from the movie:
Five year old Phillip:
Oh so cute! <Cuddles> Oh, ahem, this is Prince Phillip in the beginning of the story at the time of his betrothal to Princess Aurora, his tunic is a pale grey over blue, he wears light blue tights with a slightly deeper blue cape and a matching hat with a red feather...<Cuddles again,> (gah I can't help it.)
Ridding outfit:
The next time we see Prince Phillip is sixteen years later when he's twenty-one, he's grown quite handsome and dashing, dressed in a light brown tunic with a black under-tunic and slightly lighter colored tights. His boots are a dark brown and a red cloak with a gold clasp is thrown over his shoulders, on his head is a matching red hat with a bright red feather. A small hunting dagger is in a sheath on his belt.
He wears this outfit without the boots, cloak and hat when he first encounters Aurora and she thinks he is a simple peasant boy, where as he thinks likewise she is a peasant girl.
When he is captured by Maleficent and her minions, he is stripped of his dagger, later when the Fairies come to rescue him, he is armed with a shield and enchanted sword.
Final outfit/official engagement:
After Phillip revives Aurora with love's first kiss, he changes into this royal ensemble, a dark blue, belted, tunic with large red puffed sleeves with darker red stripes which match with his cloak, which is clasped with a red diamond clasp. His tights are a lighter blue then his tunic, they match with his high necked under-tunic, a pair of shining black boots complete this outfit.
body build:Tall, slender and well built.
any unique traits (optional) : Unusually disarming smile and quick way of talking which usually gets him out of trouble, (mostly with his quick tempered father.)

original charrie analysis. (everything must be in your own words! please be thorough.)[/ul]
personality: Dashing and cheeky, Prince Phillip is a well rounded character, he doesn't let the fact he is betrothed to a girl he's only seen once as a baby stand in his way of finding the girl he actually loves. (After all this is the fourteenth century!) He is also valiant and brave, standing up with firm determination to anyone who seeks to harm the one he loves.
history: Prince Phillip was born sometime in the 14th century, (about 1320,) his mother died in childbirth and King Hubert was tasked with bringing up his only son alone. Prince Phillip proved himself to be more similar to his vibrant late mother then his quick tempered father. Charming and jovial even as a child, he pleased everyone in King Hubert's court, and the barren King Stefan and Queen Leah of the neighboring kingdom would love to spoil him whenever he would visit with his father.
Despite his sweet nature, Phillip had a mischievous streak and would often play pranks on anyone he could find unsuspecting, from lay-servants to courtiers. (Mostly harmless pranks involving water, frogs or some sort of insects.)
When he was five years old King Stefan and Queen Leah were finally blessed with a child, a daughter they called Princess Aurora, Phillip was awoken early in the morning with the news from his overjoyed father. Not really sure why his father ordered his best clothes laid out and Phillip to be on his most polite behavior, all this fuss over a baby? The young Prince thought, but Phillip did as his father bid him and soon they arrived to great pomp at King Stefan's castle, Phillip holding a gold box with a gift for Aurora.
They were ushered into the bustling castle and brought towards the throne, Stefan and Hubert embraced and they wore overjoyed grins as they shook hands, Hubert ushered Phillip forward and Stefan patted his head kindly as the young Prince bowed and then King Stefan took the gift. He then motioned towards the carved, beautiful cradle with a canopy, Queen Leah got up from the throne to introduce her child to Phillip, kindly placing a hand around the boy's shoulders as Phillip gazed down at the baby.
He pulled a face, this tiny little thing wrapped in fine embroidered blankets, her blue eyes looking back at him solemnly, was what all the big fuss was about?
“This is our little Aurora, what do you think of her Phillip?” Queen Leah asked, as her husband came over to put an hand on her shoulder and Hubert also wondered over to admire the newborn Princess, after a moment all the adult's eyes were on the five-year-old Prince, who shrugged.
“She's...small,” he said after a moment, sending his father, Stefan, Leah, and all the nearby courtiers into pearls of laughter, Phillip scowled and Hubert patted his blond haired son on the back between chuckles.
“Yes, yes indeed she is my boy, but she'll no doubt grow to be as beautiful as Queen Leah,” King Hubert smiled at his his best friend's wife, who smiled knowingly in response.
Phillip shrugged, “oh well that will be all right then,” he admitted, generating more laughter from the adults, he shook his head, grown-ups, what could you do?
Prince Phillip stood nearby with his father as the rest of the ceremony went on, the three good fairies were introduced, Flora, Fauna and Merryweather. He almost giggled at their tiny wings and comical little dresses, but Hubert cast a warning glance at him and the little boy just folded his arms and watched.
Flora cast the gift of beauty over Aurora, then Fauna the gift of song, (Phillip thought this was much more practical then Flora's gift, he liked singing,) before the little blue dressed Merryweather could give her gift there was a cold wind that burst the huge front doors of the throne room open.
Phillip clung to his father as a ball of light entered with a crow following behind, the light burst and a dark fairy was revealed, dressed in black with protruding horns from her headdress, her skin was pale blue-green, she was truly terrible as she gazed out around the court, making dour comments.
Hubert whispered to him that it Maleficent, the dark fairy Stefan had not invited to Aurora's presentation, Phillip instantly loathed her mocking way of talking, when Maleficent mentioned that despite not being wanted, she too had a gift for baby Aurora. The good fairies instantly stood guard around the cradle, Phillip to wanted to march right over to protect the baby, Hubert quickly put his hand on his Phillip's shoulder to hold him back, the boy struggled but reluctantly stayed with his father.
Maleficent made her dark gift, a curse on Aurora that on her sixteenth birthday she would prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die, Queen Leah cried out and rushed over to gather up her tiny newborn daughter in her arms. Maleficent cackled and King Stefan ordered her arrest, but Maleficent threw out a magic wave of her staff and disappeared in a flash of her glowing orb out of the throne room, followed by her crow.
Merryweather was encouraged by her fellow fairies to use her gift to at least lessen the severity of Maleficent's curse, Merryweather waved her wand, intoning that if the dreadful curse was to pass that not death, but a deep sleep would come upon Aurora, that true love's kiss the spell would break.
There was a bright humming and singing like the previous gift before, but this one carried so much more significance, Phillip knew that whatever the fairy had done would save the little Princess one day, Hubert patted his shoulder as the bright blue light and the singing ended. Queen Leah picked up her baby once again and rocked her, holding her tightly as Stefan walked over and held her in his arms, speaking to her soothingly, whatever they were murmuring, they looked over at Phillip once or twice, Leah continued to cling to her child and sat down on her throne.
The courtiers were dispersed and the fairies left to discuss the situation amongst themselves, the throne room was empty save for Phillip, his father and Stefan and his family, Phillip wondered over to stand next to Leah, he tugged her sleeve and the Queen looked wearily at him.
“I'll help protect her your highness, I won't let that horrible old fairy harm her,” Phillip said determinedly, Hubert tried to hush his son, but Leah put her arm around his shoulders.
“I know you will,” Leah assured him, Hubert mentioned that they might take their leave and after a few comforting farewells, Phillip and his father left back for their kingdom.
The next day Hubert received a messenger from Stefan asking for him, when he returned after a short visit, he told his son Princess Aurora had been taken to a safe haven until her sixteenth birthday. Phillip immediately felt so sorry for the kind King Stefan and Queen Leah.
He then finally received the news Hubert had been waiting to tell him, Aurora was his intended bride, they were betrothed and Phillip would wait for her till the day she returned. Then they would marry and unite the kingdoms, Phillip accepted all this, for it seemed so far away.
The next few years Phillip spent in study, learning kingly ways, swordsmanship, battle strategy, horsemanship and court protocol including dancing. In all of these Phillip excelled, so much so that at fifteen he was invited with his father to stay for a time in the court of the King of France, a court favorite of everyone, especially the daughters of the king, Hubert was worried one of the girls would turn his son's head.
But apart from a few flirtations, Phillip could not find anything of what he was looking for in a girl in the Princesses, the idea of Aurora was in a distant corner of his mind, mostly forgotten.
After four years in the high court, Phillip returned home with his father, stopping first at the court of King Stefan, Leah and Stefan were overjoyed to see their old friends, taking note of Phillip's tall height and new charming demeanor, they were secretly pleased, the years were passing quickly and daughter would be returning soon.
They mentioned Aurora to Phillip over a feast, the young man smiled kindly.
“Yes, the sixteen years are nearly up, you must be most pleased,” he replied, Stefan addressed Phillip directly.
“You remember, young man that she is to be your wife,” Stefan said hesitantly, Phillip inclined his head, Leah sighed in relief and Hubert raised his glass in a rambunctious singing toast that Stefan joined in.
Phillip was solemn, he didn't know precisely how to feel, it was two years away but everything was already set for him, he'd have no choice in the woman he married, some girl he'd never met, didn't love, would be his bride in a few short years. But there was no young woman yet that had caught his eye, perhaps it was better this way.
“...our children will marry our kingdoms unite,” Hubert threw his arm around Stefan's, motioning to Phillip, “join in Phillip,” he encouraged, Phillip raised his glass with a sigh.
“Skumps, Skumps, Skumps!” All three men sang, Queen Leah clapping politely as they finished.
The next two years were spent finishing off his education, Phillip spent some of the time at King Stefan's court, Leah would delightedly dance after every dinner with her intended son-in-law, making subtle hints about wedding plans. King Stefan was no better, apart from the tolerable meetings and conversations about the kingdoms, he would also drop hints about grandchildren.
If Phillip thought he could find solace in his own castle, he'd be wrong, Hubert was on a mission to make sure all the young maidens of the court were quickly married or betrothed, nothing would be coming between his son and his best friend's daughter, not with only a year to go.
The only relief Phillip could find was escaping either castle on his young stallion Samson, an eighteenth birthday present from his father, and going hunting or just riding, even his sword practice with the captain of the guards were constantly interrupted by Hubert calling out for him.
Soon enough it was the day of Princess Aurora's sixteenth birthday, Phillip had turned twenty-one the previous month to great pomp and ceremony, he could see that all that grandeur was going to be doubled at King Stefan's court starting today. And, having stayed overnight at Stefan's castle, he rose very early in the still dark morning, getting dressed in his riding outfit he sneaked past the guards to gather some food from the kitchen, then sneaked past the stable hands to saddle up Samson and galloped off into the woods.
The morning was very pleasant spent in the forest, settling beside a river Phillip ate some of the bread and cheese he'd brought, then had a small nap before saddling Samson back up and heading reluctantly back to King Stefan's castle. Just at that moment he heard singing, beautiful singing that sounded like an angel or wood-sprite, something mythical or magical at any rate, too beautiful to be real.
Samson refused to turn around to follow the voice, Phillip resorted to bribery of oats and carrots, the horse shot off in the direction of the voice, Phillip saw the low hanging branch and called out for his horse to whoa. Samson stopped to late and Phillip slammed into the branch and fell into a pond, the horse trotted back and pulled off his hat, the Prince splashed him and assured him there would be no carrots for him tonight.
Removing his boots, red cloak and snatching his wet hat from Samson, Phillip spoke out loud about the voice to his chastised steed, munching on water weed, Samson lazily turned his head around to see the removed clothing of his Master being carried away and neighed loudly. Phillip noticed the burglary and called out after the forest creatures.
Hopping up on Samson he chased them into the thicket, dismounting he peered over the bushes to see not only the owl, rabbits and other creatures imitating him with his own clothing, but also the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen. And she was singing in the voice he'd heard from before, dressed simply and with her long, blonde hair flowing out behind her as she danced with the mock Prince, it was love at first sight.
Phillip beamed up at Samson, who also looked amazed at the young maiden, stepping through the bushes, Prince Phillip pulled away the cloaked animals when the girl had her back turned and took the maiden's hands, joining in her song about once upon a dream. She turned around frightenedly, trying to pull away after saying he was a stranger, Phillip assured her he was no stranger, they'd met before, once upon a dream.
He sang to her and the girl shyly gave him her hand, they began to dance in perfect harmony, Phillip had never met any young maiden who captivated him like this unusually pretty girl, they stopped near a cliff to look out at Stefan's kingdom.
Standing close, Phillip lent his head on hers, asking her her name.
The girl began to tell him, then cried out she couldn't, gathering up her things Phillip persisted after her asking when he would see her again, she invited him to the old wood-cutter's cottage in the glen, luckily Phillip remembered often passing that cottage and reluctantly let the girl rush away.
Gathering up his cloak, boots and hat, Phillip got dressed and mounted Samson, galloping to the castle to give his father the news, he was in love, darn all the agreements, King Stefan, Queen Leah and Princess Aurora would just have to understand.
Reaching the castle, the gates were opened and the people cheered as he galloped past, the troubadours announced him and King Hubert immediately came barreling down the stairs to halt Phillip who was heading for the stables. His son obligingly pulled his horse to a stop and dismounted to greet his father, King Hubert demanded to know where he had been.
Prince Phillip said he'd met the girl he was going to marry, Hubert beamed and assumed that it must have been Aurora and said they should inform Stefan at once, Phillip halted his father's ramblings and mentioned that he wasn't talking about Aurora. Hubert demanded to know when he'd met this girl, Phillip promptly broke into a rendition of once upon a dream and danced with his much shorter father, Hubert wanted to know who the girl was and Phillip promptly informed him he didn't know, that she must be a peasant girl.
Hubert was in denial and even asked Samson if Phillip was joking, then he almost threw down his crown in his scolding but Phillip grabbed it and put it back on his father's head.
Quickly Phillip informed his father it was the fourteenth century and nowadays...but Hubert broke in that he was still the king and he ordered Phillip to obey him, Phillip twisted his words and said that Hubert was ordering him to marry the girl he loved and remounted Samson. Hubert realized what he had said too late, and could only watch and call out after his son as Phillip galloped back into the woods with a smirk.
Reaching the cottage as night was falling, Phillip knocked on the door and a voice invited him in, at once he was set upon, bound in rope and gagged, he was hoisted up to face the horrible dark fairy he hadn't seen in sixteen years. Maleficent recognized him and was delighted, Phillip didn't know how the fairy had known he would be here, but he knew it had something to do with Aurora and feared the girl had already fallen afoul of the curse...perhaps the maiden he'd met today had been naught but an illusion set about by Maleficent?
He was dragged on foot by some of the minions, the others dragging Samson, to Maleficence's dark abode and flung into the dungeon, stripped of his cloak and dagger then enchained, in misery Phillip sat in the cold, damp dark dungeon. The memory of the beautiful girl, who might have been only an illusion, played in his mind, followed by his father and his friends he might never see again.
Maleficent added to his misery by visiting him, taunting him about being a hero of a great tale, showing him a vision in her magic orb of Stefan's castle and lying on a bed a girl with long, fair hair dressed in a beautiful blue dress. Maleficent delightedly informed him that she was not only Princess Aurora, but as Phillip saw to his anger, the same peasant maid he'd met in the woods, and had indeed fallen under Maleficent's spell. But Aurora was only asleep, needing his kiss to awaken her, Maleficent said that a hundred years to a steadfast heart and then she'd release him to free his love, then Phillip saw a vision of him astride Samson, aged a hundred years.
Phillip strained against his bonds to try and attack the dark fairy in his fury, she merely laughed and left him in her cruelly happy manner, Phillip sat back down and rested his head in his hands, then he saw a burst of magical sparks and the three good fairies were in front of him. They informed him there was no time to explain and broke his chains, equipping him with a shield and enchanted sword in which to escape the dark castle and later battle Maleficent.
After escaping from the castle, with the help of the fairies, Phillip made his way towards Stefan's castle, a mighty thicket of thorns had grown up around it, but the Prince, well trained and his horse likewise trusting his master completely, managed to slice away a cleared path to the castle.
Maleficent then descended on him and transformed into a massive fire-breathing dragon, Phillip jumped off of Samson and proceeded to do battle with her, she pushed him to the edge of the cliff and knocked away his shield. Phillip got to his feet and the fairies, in their small form, cast a spell on the sword to fly straight and sure, so that evil would die and good endure, Phillip aimed the sword and flung it straight into the dragon's chest. Maleficent let out a howl and Phillip rolled out of the way as she went tumbling off the cliff, disapearing into nothing but black ash, turning the sword black as well.
Phillip, mounting Samson, was escorted to the palace by the fairies, they told him all that had come to pass and asked him if indeed he had met Aurora in the forest. Phillip assured them he was the man Aurora had met, they were so happy, but worried about how strong the curse was.
Racing into the castle, past the sleeping nobility, gentry, knights and guards, Phillip dismounted and followed the fairies into the highest tower, racing up the stairs he stopped suddenly in the doorway and gazed at the beautiful sight ahead of him.
Aurora, just as beautiful as her name, she was always destined for him, he knew this now, like a tale from old, Phillip walked slowly towards her, never taking his eyes off of her slumbering form as he walked to the other side of the bed.
It was like when he had first met her, fast asleep and then her blue eyes had blinked open, how he longed to see that happen again, Phillip leaned over and gently, tenderly, placed a kiss on her cold lips, instantly he felt them warm moments before he drew back and watched as her eyes blinked once and then opened fully. A happy smile played out over her face at the sight of him peering down at her, and Phillip returned it with a relieved, and equally happy, smile.
“Hello,” Princess Aurora said softly, Phillip brushed a strand of hair from her face.
“You remember me then,” Phillip sighed in relief, “Princess Aurora...”
The young woman grabbed his arms, “no, please, just Aurora, I'm sure my parents and Prince Phillip will understand...”
“Aurora,” Phillip gently removed her arms and held her hands in his, “I am Prince Phillip,” he kissed her hands and Aurora cried out happily and fell into his arms, kissing him happily on the lips, the fairies rushed forward to interrupt them.
“Now, now dears,” Fauna chastised them, “save some of that for later, oh I am so happy, to think we knew you two as tiny babies...now...oh my...” She started to cry and Aurora and the other two fairies rushed to comfort her, Phillip kissed Aurora's head and sneaked away to change into his court clothing.
Returning to find Aurora more presentable and the fairies all composed, Phillip offered his love his arm and the girl took it with a smile, picking up her skirts with her free hand they descended down the stairs to the throne room, Phillip glanced across every so often to make sure this was all real.
Whenever he did look across to make sure she was really there, Aurora was smiling back at him with sweet love, he'd never been happier.
When they reached the bottom of the stairs, the entire court, Aurora's excited parents and Phillip's confused father were waiting for them, they approached the thrones and bowed. Aurora let go of Phillip's arm and rushed to embrace her mother, Stefan stroking his daughter's hair as Leah sobbed.
Hubert approached his son, “but what does this mean boy?” He questioned Phillip, who smiled in response, he'd explain later as Aurora came by to save him by kissing her future father-in-law on the head and making him blush. Phillip took her in his arms and they began to dance, lost in her beautiful eyes he felt as if they were dancing on the clouds as he pulled her close to kiss her.
Soon after their official betrothal, Phillip told his relieved father everything, Hubert sighed and mumbled something about grandchildren before rushing off to get another good bottle of wine to share with Stefan, Aurora hugged Phillip's arm and he led her out for a walk in the gardens.
They were married the following year, the good fairies themselves wove their wedding clothes and Aurora and Phillip do plan for children, just not a dozen as their fathers would like.
ambitions: Marry the girl he loves and bring peace to his father's and King Stefan's kingdom...also worth mentioning his determination to get his horse Samson better trained.
strengths & abilities: A skilled swordsman and great horse-rider, Prince Phillip is also a wonderful singer and dancer.
flaws: Disobeys his father frequently, rushes headfirst into things without first weighing up the consequences.
likes:Princess Aurora, his father King Hubert, his parents in law King Stefan and Queen Leah, his horse Samson, the good Fairies, swordsmanship, dancing and singing.
dislikes: Being told what to do with his life, running into tree branches and falling into ponds, evil fairies and their minions, dragons.
fears: Being trapped in a dungeon by Maleficent and never seeing his Princess Aurora or his family again.
what makes this character unique: As I mentioned previously, Prince Phillip is the very first Prince in the Disney universe we are introduced to that has a real personality. (And we see as a child too!) He is kind, charming and funny, but he has a well bred air to him as well as intelligence. Phillip is mighty with the sword, but he is also gentle and can dance and sing (modern man pales in comparison. ) Phillip's skill with the sword as aforementioned is seen in his battle with Maleficent, he is the only Disney Prince to do battle with a Dragon.
RP SAMPLE:
Prince Phillip looked down at the dining table one cold winter morning, tapping his spoon idly on the wooden table he looked over at his father who was looking at scrolls documenting the current farming conditions with King Stefan at the other end of the long table. Queen Leah, who was sitting across from Phillip, was brushing the coat of one of her little lap dogs, talking to it soothingly as she brushed out some of the more difficult tangles.
Princess Aurora, his betrothed, was in the kitchen making them all breakfast, she had insisted and blinked her huge blue eyes at them all pleadingly. Stefan, Leah and Hubert had crumbled instantly and Phillip, despite knowing that his future's wife's talents did not extend to cooking, eventually gave in and Aurora, kissing each one of her family, went twirling into the kitchen.
Phillip broke off a piece of newly baked bread and munched on it, brushing the crumbs off of his brown tights boredly, he supposed that he could wonder over to where his father and Stefan were and try to feign interest in how the latest crops were being irrigated. Or he could try and sneak away into the hunting dog kennels and finally make a decision on one of the hound pups he could keep as a close pet...
His ponderings were cut short when Aurora's sweet voice announced that breakfast was ready, looking over at the door way Phillip saw his young future wife carrying a pot full of steaming mush that vaguely resembled porridge, but the smell wafting from it smelt nothing like porridge.
Queen Leah's dog caught sent of the concoction and jumped from her mistress lap, Aurora triumphantly placed the pot in front of Phillip, she picked up his bowl and ladled some of the porridge into it as Stefan and Hubert warily moved closer and sat down.
“Thank-you you my love,” Phillip smiled sincerely at her, Aurora beamed as she reached for the other three bowls and filled them up as well.
Prince Phillip poked at the dark gray mush with his wooden spoon, looking across at where Queen Leah was studying the porridge, then over at where Hubert was sniffing it experimentally.
King Stefan, always adoring of his daughter, immediately stuck his spoon into the food, “It looks wonderful darling, I don't know why all of you are hesitating it's just...” Stefan stuck a spoonful into his mouth and immediately turned green, he swallowed forcefully, “...fine. Did you use a tad too much rosemary my darling Aurora?” Stefan squeaked.
The young Princess blinked, “oh dear, was I not suppose to put in rosemary?” She questioned, Leah patted her arm kindly as she used her free hand to lift a spoonful of the concoction to her lips.
“Not traditionally darling, but I think it looks just fine too,” she placed a tiny amount in her mouth and then took a sip of water.
Hubert managed a slightly larger spoonful, he actually beamed, “now that is excellent cooking, rosemary, pepper, is that the left over roast boar from last night?” his father began consuming more of his breakfast, Phillip watched his father, half in fascination and half in disgust.
“Phillip?” The quiet, melodic voice of Aurora broke his awe inspired staring at his father and Phillip looked towards her, she brushed her hands against her plain blue gown nervously, “you said anything yet, do you like it?”
“Well my love,” Phillip said, taking a hesitant bite and chewing on a particularity tough piece of boar, “it is certainly different, I think you are improving,” he smiled at her, Aurora squealed happily and sat down on his lap, hugging him tightly and kissing his cheek.
Well, it was an improvement from the soup made from ox eyes and the dandelion salad that actually turned out to be nettles, but Phillip knew none of the good fairies could cook anything but basic dishes so Aurora was slowly learning. It didn't hurt to assure Aurora she could do anything she set her mind to, one day she would be able to cook well and Phillip always, always wanted to support her culinary disasters till then.
“Oh Phillip,” his father's voice broke his thoughts, Phillip looked over and saw his father pointing at his bowl of food, “are you going to finish that son?”
Phillip smiled and handed over his bowl, “here you are father,” he dutifully handed over his food to his father, Aurora kissed his cheek.
“Not to worry darling Phillip, I shall get another bowl from the kitchen,” Aurora got to her feet and swept away to the kitchen, Phillip lent towards his father.
“I'll oversee the turnip harvest tomorrow if you eat that bowl she's fetching as well,” he whispered, his father nodded as he dipped a piece of bread into his porridge.
“Done.”
Phillip took another slice of bread, he hoped that tomorrow's breakfast, which he knew would be soon insisted upon by his betrothed, would be a little bit more palatable, but he had absolute confidence in his his future wife, and in his father's iron stomach.
